WestBoro Baptist church - what motives???

Classik

I was thinking about this people the other day. Perhaps they apply the law of: 'if you are hard at hearing I'll shout more', perhaps you will hear. They seem to apply this against Americans and the christians who have forsaken God.

Maybe most Amercan Christians are so deaf and these people (whom you call extremists) kind of want to bring them back to their first love using harsh measures.

Don't break my head, people. This is just a thought. Maybe they want Amerca to come back to God, and the only possible way is through their: WBCsm. :lol

Can't stop laughing! Shrieks of laughter!

I like their choir.

Inbreeding comes to mind (this is actually true; almost everyone there is a Phelps, often through more than one line)

The problem is that they use very cult-like methods to ensure compliance with the norms of the group. You're either all-in or you're shunned (look at what they did to Lauren). And since they've taught you the world was evil since you were in diapers, you keep in line.

Their motives are fear, plain and simple.

Don't be mistaken, Classik.... Phelps (all assorted) and Westboro have nothing to do with God whatsoever.

Jesus said you would know someone by their fruit... love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

These people are filled with hate, discontent, reviling, and meanness.

People who hate sometimes use "Christianity" as a justification for their hatred of (insert groups here). What's unfortunate is how, in today's media-saturated world, a small, crazed group of hateful people can get such an incredible amount of media coverage and damage the reputation of Christians everywhere.

I doubt we'll ever know their real motivations. There have been a lot of twisted minds through history that have taken an isolated verse or two from the Bible and turned it into a tool for control over others. I don't see any love in that group.

"Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love."

Whatever they call themselves, christians or something else they are absolutley wrong. Do they hate people's sin or people themselves???

Can God use this kind of people? Maybe! Maybe not!!

There's a track by Ron Kenoly: Return to Righteousness, America:

Hundreds of ministers have pampered Americans - trying to bring them back to God. They never used mean teachings. It seems very few listened.

Now these WBC people are using harsh measures. If that would save America...then AMEN to them. I doubt they will make a convert (except their own kind of people)

They are a (possibly inbred) cult of hate and arrogance that spends what MUST be +95% of their time on homosexuality.

They are SO wrong, it is profound.

i think they do great job of demonizing christians to gays. certainly if you want someone do something or be something this is not the way to coerce them to it.

Their motive is money, pure and simple. Mr. Phelps and the bulk of his children are all lawyers. They make money by suing governments, individuals, and companies for removing their right to free speech.

Either they have quieted down, or they're just not getting the media attention they used to, but I've hardly heard them mentioned lately. Either one would be a good thing in some respect. Let's hope they stop, but if they don't, let's stop giving them the attention they crave.
