What About Those In Non-Christian Lands Who Have Never Heard The Gospel?

The Word of the truth of the Gospel, had come to the believers, as it was in all of the world, knowing the grace of God is in truth, the hope of the Gospel, which the believers had heard, which was preached to every creature which is under heaven, Apostle Paul being a minister. ( Apostle Paul the Apostle to the Gentiles.)

Colossians 1:5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
6 Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:

Colossians 1:23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

The Gentiles had also received the Word of God.

That is the fall of the Jews, to be the riches of the world, ( the world of the Gentiles.)

Remembering they were Gentiles in the flesh, in time past thy were without Christ, being aliens from the covenants of promise, having no hope in the world. Now in Christ Jesus they were made near by the blood of Christ.

This is the mystery of Godliness, Jesus Christ preached unto the Gentiles, ( the world of Gentiles.) and believed on in the world.

Acts 11:1 And the apostles and brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.

Romans 11:12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?

Romans 11:13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:

Ephesians 2:11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

The Word of God did take effect in all of the world.

Just as it is testified, for they are not all Israel which are of Israel. ( they are not all the world, which are of the world.)

The children of the flesh, ( the world) are not the children of God, but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. ( to be the children of God.)

For they have not all obeyed the Gospel, who believed the report ? ( in all of the world which is preached to.)

Did they not all hear ? ( yes the sound went to all the world.) Truly the sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.

Did Israel not know, ( did the world not know ?) God was found of them that sought Him not, God was made manifest unto them that asked no after Him. ( unto all the called world of the Gentiles.)

Romans 9:6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:
7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.
8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

Romans 10:16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
18 But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.
19 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.
20 But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.
21 But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.

The Word of God did take effect in all of the world.
If I were to say:
(The Word of God did take effect in some of the world.)

Would you know how, where and when I was speaking of?

I will say
I have ideas about this, but may not have complete understanding. We see through a glass darkly.

The Word of God did take effect in all of the world.
Also for us English speaking folks.
Can you give us (for your statement)

I see some of your points. To make them come alive, it would help if you could/would do this. If it would take another thread that would work.

I believe I could do this with my statement. It is not the way we usually go after a thought, but that is the way English goes after answers.

You are using the word "God-fearers" within a constricted definition of your making. I am using the term "God-fearers" as all those OT believers who truly believed God and walked with God by faith, from Abel onward. Not until Christ actually completed his mission on earth, being crucified for our sins, did the Apostles even understand the Gospel.
You could use "God fearers" in a general sense for everyone in the Old Testament but the term developed in the time from Malachi to the Advent of Christ.
If you begin that understanding from the time of the Day of Pentecost onward in which understanding of Jesus' teaching took on better meaning then we're agreed.

These OT God-fearers were not required to believe in the Messiah, nor did the OT prophets understand who the Messiah was, or what his mission actually was.
No, there were countless prophecies of Israel's Messiah from Genesis 3:15 going forward and the expectation of this King and Prophet was central to what they believed about God and His Promises. To believe in Messiah was to believe God. Although such belief did not save it was the looking forward to His arrival that made them all Christian.
Many OT believers thought that the Christ only comes in victory, not as the dying servant, to save them from their oppressors. So, the OT believers, as well, did not have an accurate Gospel conception of who the Messiah was.
I agree.
Talking about someone is not the same as experiencing that person yourself.

1 Peter 1:10-16 (NIV) 10 Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to {{{you,}}} searched intently and with the greatest care, 11 trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predicted the sufferings of the Messiah and the glories that would follow. 12 It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves {{{but you,}}} when they spoke of the things that have now been told {{{you}}} by those who have {{{preached the gospel to you}}} by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. {{{Even angels long to look into these things.}}}
Good Lord not the NIV. Yuck.
Here, a better translation:

10 Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: 11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. 12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into. 1 Pete 1:10–12.

Well, the grace of God was preached and prophesied.

Back on explaining Romans 2, a little more.
The Gentiles Romans 2 speaks of, are the ones who are led by the goodness of God to repentance.
Paul is addressing "Jewish" believers in chapter 2 onward. Basically, the whole of the letter is addressed to the "Jews" first and also to the Greek.
Denying and not confessing/acknowledging this, is denying the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. ( that antichrist spirit)

It is told first in Acts 11, how the Spirit was given by gift to the Gentiles, as well as with the Jews, for believing on the Lord Jesus Christ, God had granted also to the Gentiles repentance unto life. (To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life. Romans 2:7. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 1 John 5:11.)
It is in Acts 2 the Spirit was given to the "Jews" first.
Gentiles were later.
Then Romans 2 shows the nature of the Gentiles, with a conscience, to be judged by Jesus Christ according to the Gospel. ( Granted repentance to life/the goodness of God led them to repentance.)
Paul was addressing "Jewish" believers who had the Law and everything associated with conscience-things. These pagans knew nothing of value concerning the conscience and right judging.
Galatians 2 further explains, if they do not walk according to the truth of the Gospel, the Gentiles then cannot be compelled to live as the Jews, the Jews being by nature, to not be sinners of the Gentiles.
Again, the gospel Paul is referring is the Old Testament Gospel of God concerning the prophecies of their Messiah.
Those by nature, Jew or Gentile, as in Romans 2 first, then afterwards told about also in Galatians 2, know and confess that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, to believe in Jesus Christ ( granted repentance unto life/eternal life is in His Son.) to be justified by the faith of Jesus Christ, ( showing the works of the law written in their heart.) and not by works of the law or anything else in nature, which no flesh shall be jusified.
This show be a sign to you that Paul is speaking to the "Jews" at Rome.
Acts 11:17 Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?
18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.
To the "Jew" first and also to the Gentile.

The whole of Scripture is written to Israel. There is no 'book' written to Gentiles.

Not that I can do this
, but in the pluperfect tense indicative mood being explained in the best way sometimes still misses a redneck language and understanding. The passage just misses the English mind. So when I sometimes quote a verse I may not know all the translation. I gave up basically learning Greek or for that matter Hebrew.
But
Fortunately there are a lot of texts that can be understood by the story line. Especially when the storyline transcends the context.
Please do not pin me up on that statement.

The thread is about those who have not heard the Gospel, but there are times when a people have heard the law of Moses, and that prepares some people to hear the gospel.

Yes to the Jew first and also to the Greek/Gentiles, as told..

Acts 13:45 But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.
46 Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.
47 For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.

Apostle Paul turning to the Gentiles, is them set as a light of the Gentiles, to be the Lords salvation unto the ends of the earth.

Apostle Pauls epistles continue explaining the same, of the Jews who killed the Lord Jesus, their own prophets, persecuted the Apostles, and were contrary to all men. ( to the Gentiles)

The Gentiles are saved by hearing the Word of God, who Paul was mighty in all his epistles to the Gentiles.

1 Thessalonians 2:14 For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews:
15 Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men:
16 Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.

Galatians 2:8 (For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:)

The Word of God is in all the world, because all men everywhere are commanded to repent. ( God gave assurance to all men in the whole of the world, not only to some of the world, that He has raised Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour from the dead.)

Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

That is what is also told in Romans 2 of Gods goodness ( through our Lord Jesus Christ rising) to lead men to repentance. ( all men)

Romans 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

How do we know who it is, is because it is told who in Romans 2, it is those without law and those in the law.

1 Corinthians 9 continues, how Apostle Paul became as those that are under the law to gain ( save) them that are under the law, and to them without law, as without law, as they are under the law now to Christ, to gain ( save) them that are without law.

Romans 2:12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;

1 Corinthians 9:20 And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;
21 To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.

That is all the world called, Jew and Gentile.

The proof is also told, that the sound went into all the world, as it has done, but that the children of the flesh wont believe it, but the children of promise do.

By nature in the law, is told in Romans 2 in more detail. ( Why would you guys not want to speak about the rest of the chapter ?)

The Jews we just were reminded of were contrary to all men. ( to all Gentiles.)

That is told of course also in Romans 2.

The name of God is blasphemed by the Jews among the Gentiles.

The Gentiles ( uncircumcision) are now counted as the circumcision, ( by the circumcision of Christ, not by any other way.) and they are the ones by nature who are the uncircumcision, (Gentiles) who judge the ones who are the circumcision. ( Jews)

Circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and as told, we are the circumcision ( Gentiles) but only those who WORSHIP IN THE SPIRIT AND REJOICE IN CHRIST JESUS.

Romans 2:24 For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written.
25 For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision.
26 Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?
27 And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law?
28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

Philippians 3:3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

Colossians 2:11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

All heard who are of the promise, who the Lord our God shall call. ( the childree3n of the flesh are not the children of God, the children of the Spirit, called by the Spirit, are.)

Notice those born after the Spirit are persecuted by those BORN after the flesh.

Acts 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Romans 9:8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

Galatians 3:7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.

Galatians 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

Galatians 3:22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

Galatians 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Galatians 4:22 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.
23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.

Galatians 4:28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.
30 Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.
31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.

Abraham was given the promises, showing they have to be GIVEN. ( to be a father of many/all nations.

That is the seed of Abraham also, TO BELIEVE IN HOPE AGAINST HOPE.

This was never made known to men, now it was revealed by the Spirit ( to all men, to the world of Gentiles.) for them to be fellow heirs and partakers of the promise in Christ by the Gospel.

We be followers of them who through faith ( which we receive like precious of the Father) and patience inherit the promises.

God them shows to the heirs of promise ( as it was shown to Abraham, called alone, and blessed him) confirmed and blessed by Himself.

They which are called ( as Abraham alone was called by God) might receive the promise of eternal inheritance by believing in the means of death of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and HIs rising again from the dead.

God has chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he has promised to them that love Him.

We ( the world of Gentiles) are given exceeding great and precious promises: that by these we might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

The children not of the promise, but born after the flesh, deny that Jesus is the Christ. ( antichrist spirit)

He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not. ( the world and those in non Christian lands, know Him not, and knows not those of the Spirit, as it knew Him not.)

The world knows us not, because it knew Him not.

We have heard from the beginning. the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life. ( this life is in HIs Son)

Isaiah 51:2 Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.

Romans 4:18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.

Ephesians 3:5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;
6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

Hebrews 6:12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,
14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.

Hebrews 6:17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:

Hebrews 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

James 2:5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?

2 Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.
25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

1 John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

1 John 5:11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

As you guys say, that is mi 2 sense worth. ( lots of scripture)

Have a nice discussion, maybe a little theology, and will catch you later I am sure.

The Word of God is in all the world, because all men everywhere are commanded to repent. ( God gave assurance to all men in the whole of the world, not only to some of the world, that He has raised Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour from the dead.)
How were the original Jews called (the 120? Disciples of Jesus that were at Pentecost)?

What happened at Pentecost?

How were the righteous people from every nation called to Pentecost). 3000?
Jews and proselytes alike?
Who were their ancestors, what was their ancestors background (400? Years before)?
What had the Jews and proselytes seen happen while in the 400 years of dispersion)?

Everyone is welcome to look into what I am asking. If I finally give what you hear and consider wrong, tell the errors. (If we get that far).

These people (from the nations) had not heard the gospel while in dispersion. What had they seen and heard to prepare them for Pentecost?

Will it work today?

The Gentiles are saved by hearing the Word of God, who Paul was mighty in all his epistles to the Gentiles.
Paul's epistles were written to "Jewish" believers at their respective churches.
There is no Covenant God ever made with Gentiles.
Salvation is of the "Jews."
James wrote to "Jewish" believers.
Peter wrote to "Jewish" believers.
John wrote to "Jewish" believers.
The whole of Scripture is a "Jewish" treatise to and for the "Jews" of twelve tribes.

Paul’s decision. I am considering going to the gentiles, At least they will listen. My concern is Jesus they know, Paul they may know, but who is eddif?

The Jews have the oracles of God. That is a great advantage. Romans.

Not every Jew is bad. The disciples were Jewish. The New Testament writers were almost all Jewish ( that is debated).
But God finally got fed up 400 years before Jesus. What happened?

What About Those In Non-Christian Lands Who Have Never Heard The Gospel?

eddif
It doesn't matter if they never heard the gospel.
For thousands of years, it being a "Jewish" Covenant Gentiles were not knocking down doors to learn about the Law of Moses. They had their own gods they worshiped and prayed to.
And for thousands of years Gentiles were born outside the Abrahamic Covenant and lived and eventually died outside the Abrahamic Covenant. They went straight to hell, did not pass "GO" and did not collect $200.
And those lands that never heard of Jesus and what He was about it doesn't matter.
Unbelievers are not saved "by hearing the gospel." When Paul said that he was speaking to believers already saved.

13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
To "call on the name of the Lord" doesn't mean what it sounds like. To "call upon the name of the Lord" means to worship Him. And only people that are saved can do that for their "calling/worship" is anointed of the Holy Spirit. The reason why unbelievers' prayers are "sin" to God is because there is no anointing.

14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
In other words, how can one worship ("call upon the Lord") if they don't believe in Him.
How can they believe if they haven't heard of Him.
How can they hear without someone to "preach" about Him?
The word "preach" means "herald" and this takes place in the Temple and synagogues.

15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
Paul quotes Old Testament Scripture. Only "Jews" understand this he was doing and were familiar with those quotes.

16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
Again, Old Testament Scripture.

17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Faith (trust) comes by hearing the Word of God and faith (trust) grows because we understand more and therefore have to trust more.

18 But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.
Again, Old Testament Scripture.

19 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.
Old Testament Scripture.

20 But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.
Old Testament Scripture.

21 But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people. Rom. 10:13–21.
Old Testament Scripture.

What happened was time to bring in the Gentiles.
Then, when God's countdown completes He turns His full attention back to the children of Israel (Jacob) and keeps His Promises made to them in the Old Testament.
Then the end comes.

What About Those In Non-Christian Lands Who Have Never Heard The Gospel?

Those who live in such lands only have the book of life.
If their names are there, they're good to go.
Hearing the gospel is not how someone is saved.
They are saved if their names are in the book of life.
