Okay now who here has eaten snake ?

ooo. No snake for me thanks. I just don't think I'd like them, plus with all of the scripture and stuff about "serpents" I...have a sort of prejudice against them. If it was a super survival situation then...maybe. But I bet I'd pray a lot first, lol.

Catfish is ok if it's cleaned really well and cooked right. I didn't say good or gourmet...ok.

some snakes are actually lizards. we have a glass snake which is a leg less lizard.

what animal we eat has poisons that are bad, lionfish, the crab and lobster many not kill but must boiled alive to stop the poison that ruins them for eating.

I've worn Hush Puppies, but I've never eaten them.

I've never tried snake. The most unusual things I've eaten are probably fermented shark, blood sausage and pickled ram's testicles.

TOG, now I see why you went Kosher. LOL

I'll just stick with my medium rare steak, ...keeps me fat and happy!

It's the pickled stuff

Oh... The pickled "stuff"... There was a time when Icelanders were mostly poor, and they didn't throw away anything that resembled food. Salting, drying and pickling were the only ways food could be preserved, so that's what they did to it. Today you can only get that kind of food for about a month each year, during the old Icelandic month of Þorri. During that time, people eat þorramatur (food of þorri) and have feasts called þorrablót (literally "sacrifice to Þorri) (more details at the links). In the 1960's, Icelanders had for the most part stopped eating food unfit for human consumption, until a restaurant owner named Halldór Gröndal decided to increase his business during the slow season in mid-winter, by introducing people to the þorrablót. He later decided to stop feeding people rotten food and studied theology and became Iceland's first Spirit-filled pastor of the state church. His was the first church that actually preached the Word of God that I found after I moved to Iceland, only two years after I was saved.
