What Are You Going to be for Halloween?

Same as every year, taxi driver for trick or treaters. We live in an area where the houses are so far apart, I have to drive the kids all over tarnation for them to trick or treat. However, at each stop they get bagfuls of candy, not to mention cookies, popcorn balls, caramel apples, and apple cider. Since we all know each other really well, there's no danger. This is a tradition that goes way, way back here and the older folks enjoy it as much as the kids.

I'm debating wheter I want to be a steampunk or Herbert the Pervert from famly guy. I can do the voice really well, and can make my friends laugh pretty hard.

though I'll probably be toasted for most of my evening. I turn 21 on Halloween. :D

I'm going as a Rock Star!! I have ripped Jeans, a guitar shirts, and will be getting aviators soon.

Now, I have a question for you guys. I have a guitar shirt with the words Pick Jesus in the middle of it. I'm would like to go as a Christian Rock Star, but I don't know how that would look with Jeans that have rips in the knees. Do you think I should stick to the regular guitar shirt, or is it OK to wear the Jesus shirt?

Hmm, I would say where a crusifx big enough to make people wonder if you are compansating for something and/or a guitar with a cross on it. :yes 3 of my best friends are actually memebers of a Christian Hardcore band.

I think the jeans with Jesus tee would be ok.

My hunny and I went as a pirate gang last year. I'm not sure what we'll do this year. I was thinking about steampunk or 80's. i like to make my own outfits (last year's cost about $20 for both).

Myself......that should be scary enough :lol.

Actually halloween isn't that big a deal here. :shrug. I guess we have other things.

I dont know really. I never been a big fan of Halloween, I have went every year but it gets boring after a while if you dont come up with mischivoes ideas if you know what I mean >_>

I dont know, I think I might just go to a party or something.

OK, going to expose some ignorance on my part here but...

just what exactly is steampunk?

Or, should that be who?

Working in one of the Halleluyah Night booths~ handing out candy to every little boy or girl who knocks the block off Goliath's head! He is a ten foot, rellay ugly, well-armored dude! Whose head just happens to GO FLYING with the slap of a small bean bag... :lol

my family has never participated in, and never will participate in, Halloween. However... there is a costume contest at work (Best Buy) that day, and I will be going as Captain Hammer!

As I approach 22 years of age, it may be time for me to let the kids have their fun from now on. I still got dibs on their candy, though lol! Never too old for that!

A genre of Anarchochromatic literature and art. Its reminisent of 19th century victorian age technology( Steam powered or coal powered machinery, brass and copper, welding goggles, type writers, etc.) and fashion. Its a what if scenario of what if we kept going with that technology. Such as steam powered computers, guitars, planes, etc. Its a vastly interesting genre and was inspired by such books as The Invisible Man, Time Machine, and 20,000 leagues under the sea. Some movies I could sugest would be steam boy, Howl's moving castle, and The League of Extraodiary gentilemen.

Oh please...gimme a break!! I didn't go as anything last year, but the year before that I was The Blue Ninja!! Might have to break out the blue ninja again this year and I'm 36. The kids enjoy it when I do. :)

Thanks Lance. I did watch The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Wasn't the greatest movie ever, but it was enjoyable. I thought it had a cool look and feel to it, and now I know that the look is considered "steampunk". Learn something new everyday!

Now, let's see, I'm 48, and I still get into the fun of it all. And I always get dibs on the candy, because I'm the one driving up and down the valley so that they can get it. They already know that any non-chocolate candy is for me. I used to nab the chocolate candies as well, but I can't eat chocolate anymore. :crying

:chin hmmmm, that brings to mind an idea. Look for another thread from me this morning.

Not really big on Halloween...if we dress up...hubby, baby, and I will all dress as pumpkins and be our own little pumpkin patch.
