Unbreakable, by Fireflight

Another band I should try to check out more of.

questdriven:

I like the line 'faith is moving without knowing'.

(As enlightened by Scripture, of course.)

Blessings.

Yeah. Christian hard rock isn't hard to come by, and I guess it's becoming more popular.

I do like some secular songs and even casually like a couple secular hard rock bands (Crush 40, Breaking Benjamin). But I make sure the song has a good message, otherwise I leave it alone.
It's not hard. There's plenty to choose from.

There is like one song I can't help but like that had some swearing...there's a "clean" version, but all they did in that version was make the swear words hard to decipher. They're still there.
questdriven :

I guess it's the rigorous, hard rock sound that you like, and the words make it seem a bit stronger, I suppose. We do have to be a bit careful, of course. Philippians 4.8 is a good guide.

Blessings.

I hope the video works for you. Some copyright authorities of my country are blocking me from watching the embedded youtube, even when using a proxy.

PS: questdriven : Have you seen how Dawn Michele of Fireflight regularly begins a concert with a Scripture reading?

I'm still keen to see a firm, doctrinal basis for such events, anyway.

Blessings.

I've never really seen anything to do with their concerts, so I wouldn't know. Sounds good, though.

PS: questdriven :

I've been thinking about the lines from Casting Crowns. 'Jesus, Friend of Sinners': "Nobody knows what we're for, only what we're against, when we judge the wounded, What if we put down our signs, crossed over the lines, and love like You did?"

I was thinking, this is a good sentiment if it refers to the compassion that we should have for sinners like ourselves.

Some people might interpret it to mean that truth and doctrine don't matter. This is far from the case: the Lord Jesus is the Truth, and the Word of God is a discener of the thoughts and intents of the heart; Paul was a great stickler for doctrine.

So yes indeed we should be compassionate; no one was more compassionate than the Lord Jesus.

Truth and doctrine are also supremely important.

(A few, further thoughts.)

Blessings.

True. I've seen non-Christians get confused with this concept.

questdiven:

Interesting video and lyrics! Clearly Dawn Michele is speaking of new life in Christ, in the light, empowered to have victory over the enemy.

It's good never to be complacent, of course, but to be armed with the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6).

Blessings.

Hi questdriven :

Do you think Dawn Michele here is singing about the exprience of conversion?

It would seem so to me.

Blessings.
Probably.

questdriven:

Seemed like it to me, anyway.

Did you see/hear any more new Red that you liked, BTW?

Blessings.
I think the only album by them I haven't heard was their first one. I have the others.

Wow, so you already got quite a collection of Red, then. One from you mom, right? Maybe she'll get to like Red eventually herself!

Blessings.
