I don't understand the Taylor Swift craze. Anything Taylor Swift. The lyrics to me are so superficial with no substance to them. And I want to scream every time a new one comes out.

My household has always liked Weird Al's music....along with his movie "UHF" .... I prefer many of his song versions better than the originals! (We even had the opportunity to meet and spend time with him ... really nice guy!)

He covered Madonna, along with a host of other entertainers. He's still at it, albeit at a slower rate these days.

Great that he's a nice guy. Maybe I'd really enjoy talking to him as long as he doesn't break into song. He definitely knew a thing or two about marketing. If you can somehow take someone else's music, tweak the lyrics, sing them with a nasal voice, and parlay that into a successful career, you know marketing.

Great that he's a nice guy. Maybe I'd really enjoy talking to him as long as he doesn't break into song. He definitely knew a thing or two about marketing. If you can somehow take someone else's music, tweak the lyrics, sing them with a nasal voice, and parlay that into a successful career, you know marketing.

You'd enjoy talking with him, Mike. And I can assure you he did not break into song during the time we were able to spend with him. (My son was disappointed!)

His father was a musician. So it's quite possible he learned the basics of marketing from him. Weird Al certainly took the marketing to a new level, though!
