Yes, only the Holy Spirit can witness Gods truth to our heart/spirit.Rom 8:16..."The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:"
Do you have a point to make ?
No comment.Agreed, just a true repentance from sin, and baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of past sins. (Acts 2:38)
What does continued sin reveal ?
I believe we are all at different levels of understanding, ..I’m a pretty slow learner..33yrs ago I was Born Again, and besides it’s the Spirit who brings the word to our understanding...I am nothing and know nothing without the witness, the Living Holy Spirit.Don't you agree, Ritajanice ?
Of course he did. In prison he doubted. And I don't believe John the Baptist ever sinned.
Paul said WHATEVER is not from faith is sin. Are those activities from faith? Is driving a car a sin ?
Is using a vacuum a sin ?
Your qualification for Godliness is unbiblical.
So you have never gotten angry/hurt/upset at anyone? No. Not since I repented of sin.
Which God brings us to.Agreed, just a true repentance from sin
If He is our Lord, we will do His will.Yes, only the Holy Spirit can witness Gods truth to our heart/spirit.
No one can say Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.
Just something designed to make you think. No comment.
Brother I have never doubted that I’m Born Again.Of course he did. In prison he doubted.
Well sure, I don't think any two folks have the same level of understanding.I believe we are all at different levels of understanding,
Good bishops and deacons can do it too...I’m a pretty slow learner..33yrs ago I was Born Again, and besides it’s the Spirit who brings the word to our understanding...I am nothing and know nothing without the witness, the Living Holy Spirit.
It’s being done through us and no one can thwart the will of God..If He is our Lord, we will do His will.
Doubted ?Of course he did. In prison he doubted.
Yes.Paul said WHATEVER is not from faith is sin. Are those activities from faith?
I have gotten plenty angry/upset with folks, and been hurt by more than a few.So you have never gotten angry/hurt/upset at anyone?
I know. You do realize that in the same passage (Matt 5) where our Lord equated lust with adultery in the heart, He also equated anger with murder?
So you must have known they were not speaking the truth.I have had the distinct DISPLEASURE of knowing to a small degree 2 serial killers and one mass killer. 2 of those claimed to be born again believers. At the time of their killings.
Were they actually saved? Are they saved now, years after being incarcerated? It is easy to say no, but I really cannot say one way or the other.
It is written..."For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death." (2 Cor 7:10)Which God brings us to.
They can still speak like a fish wife, it’s the Spirit that’s at work in our heart/spirit..we certainly don’t bear Jesus fruit in an instance, takes time for that old man to surrender to the Spirit. Imo.Those reborn of God's seed do not bring forth the fruit of the devil.

Thank God for giving us a conscience that is not so hardened that we cannot mourn our rebellion against God.
And, do something about it !

Then you are not reading the scriptures in context. That context being the historical situation of the day.I don't recall reading of his doing so, after his conversion.
Is "fish wife" a UK term ?They can still speak like a fish wife,
I disagree.it’s the Spirit that’s at work in our heart/spirit..we certainly don’t bear Jesus fruit in an instance, takes time for that old man to surrender to the Spirit. Imo.
LOL.Is "fish wife" a UK term ?
I don't know what that means.
You’re allowed to disagree..I disagree.
Is that a question for me ?

OK then. Then you are not reading the scriptures in context. That context being the historical situation of the day.
Acts 18:18
Paul, having remained many days longer, took leave of the brethren and put out to sea for Syria, and with him were Priscilla and Aquila. In Cenchrea he had his hair cut, for he was keeping a vow.
Acts 21:17
After we arrived in Jerusalem, the brethren received us gladly. 18 And the following day Paul went in with us to James, and all the elders were present. 19 After he had greeted them, he began to relate one by one the things which God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry. 20 And when they heard it they began glorifying God; and they said to him, “You see, brother, how many thousands there are among the Jews of those who have believed, and they are all zealous for the Law; 21 and they have been told about you, that you are teaching all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children nor to walk according to the customs. 22 What, then, is to be done? They will certainly hear that you have come. 23 Therefore do this that we tell you. We have four men who are under a vow; 24 take them and purify yourself along with them, and pay their expenses so that they may shave their heads; and all will know that there is nothing to the things which they have been told about you, but that you yourself also walk orderly, keeping the Law.
. 14 He shall present his offering to the Lord: one male lamb a year old without defect for a burnt offering and one ewe-lamb a year old without defect for a sin offering and one ram without defect for a peace offering, 15 and a basket of unleavened cakes of fine flour mixed with oil and unleavened wafers spread with oil, along with their grain offering and their drink offering.
(Isaiah 27:1–13) 1“I am the true vine, and My Father is the keeper of the vineyard. 2He cuts off every branch in Me that bears no fruit, and every branch that does bear fruit, He prunes to make it even more fruitful. 3You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4Remain in Me, and I will remain in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me. 5I am the vine and you are the branches. The one who remains in Me, and I in him, will bear much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing. 6If anyone does not remain in Me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers. Such branches are gathered up, thrown into the fire, and burned. 7If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8This is to My Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, proving yourselves to be My disciples. |
