What does "Because His seed remains in him" mean?

Rom 8:16..."The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:"
Do you have a point to make ?
Yes, only the Holy Spirit can witness Gods truth to our heart/spirit.

No one can say Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.
Agreed, just a true repentance from sin, and baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of past sins. (Acts 2:38)

What does continued sin reveal ?

Don't you agree, Ritajanice ?
I believe we are all at different levels of understanding, ..I’m a pretty slow learner..33yrs ago I was Born Again, and besides it’s the Spirit who brings the word to our understanding...I am nothing and know nothing without the witness, the Living Holy Spirit.

And I don't believe John the Baptist ever sinned.
Of course he did. In prison he doubted.

Is driving a car a sin ?
Is using a vacuum a sin ?
Your qualification for Godliness is unbiblical.
Paul said WHATEVER is not from faith is sin. Are those activities from faith?
No. Not since I repented of sin.
So you have never gotten angry/hurt/upset at anyone?

You do realize that in the same passage (Matt 5) where our Lord equated lust with adultery in the heart, He also equated anger with murder?

I have had the distinct DISPLEASURE of knowing to a small degree 2 serial killers and one mass killer. 2 of those claimed to be born again believers. At the time of their killings.

Were they actually saved? Are they saved now, years after being incarcerated? It is easy to say no, but I really cannot say one way or the other.

Brother I have never doubted that I’m Born Again.

But, I have doubted what God revealed to my heart in a certain situation, my faith and trust has had to be built up..

Of course we can doubt just as you say.

Well sure, I don't think any two folks have the same level of understanding.
But as we travel down the road together the differences subside.

Good bishops and deacons can do it too.
Fellowship with other sanctified folks really helps too.

Doubted ?
Or wondered ?
Paul said WHATEVER is not from faith is sin. Are those activities from faith?
Yes.
Would you drive around in a car without having faith ?
Would you vacuum without having faith ?
So you have never gotten angry/hurt/upset at anyone?
I have gotten plenty angry/upset with folks, and been hurt by more than a few.
But none of that caused me to commit a sin.
You do realize that in the same passage (Matt 5) where our Lord equated lust with adultery in the heart, He also equated anger with murder?
I know.
Who was it that said..."Be ye angry, and sin not". (Eph 4:26)

So you must have known they were not speaking the truth.
Those reborn of God's seed do not bring forth the fruit of the devil.

D-D-W ..I respect what you believe, I don’t think we should disrespect what others believe.

I’m sure Gods word mentions that somewhere.

Which God brings us to.
It is written..."For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death." (2 Cor 7:10)
Thank God for giving us a conscience that is not so hardened that we cannot mourn our rebellion against God.
And, do something about it !

They can still speak like a fish wife, it’s the Spirit that’s at work in our heart/spirit..we certainly don’t bear Jesus fruit in an instance, takes time for that old man to surrender to the Spirit. Imo.

Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?

New Living Translation
Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?

Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?

I don't recall reading of his doing so, after his conversion.
Then you are not reading the scriptures in context. That context being the historical situation of the day.

Acts 18:18
Paul, having remained many days longer, took leave of the brethren and put out to sea for Syria, and with him were Priscilla and Aquila. In Cenchrea he had his hair cut, for he was keeping a vow.

Acts 21:17
After we arrived in Jerusalem, the brethren received us gladly. 18 And the following day Paul went in with us to James, and all the elders were present. 19 After he had greeted them, he began to relate one by one the things which God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry. 20 And when they heard it they began glorifying God; and they said to him, “You see, brother, how many thousands there are among the Jews of those who have believed, and they are all zealous for the Law; 21 and they have been told about you, that you are teaching all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children nor to walk according to the customs. 22 What, then, is to be done? They will certainly hear that you have come. 23 Therefore do this that we tell you. We have four men who are under a vow; 24 take them and purify yourself along with them, and pay their expenses so that they may shave their heads; and all will know that there is nothing to the things which they have been told about you, but that you yourself also walk orderly, keeping the Law. 25 But concerning the Gentiles who have believed, we wrote, having decided that they should abstain from meat sacrificed to idols and from blood and from what is strangled and from fornication.” 26 Then Paul took the men, and the next day, purifying himself along with them, went into the temple giving notice of the completion of the days of purification, until the sacrifice was offered for each one of them.

To "keep a vow," which Paul and the 4 men from the Jerusalem congregation were doing, in that day meant the Nazirite vow. The end of that vow was animal sacrifice and the cutting of the hair. So both Paul and these guys had that vow. Here is what is required to end it:

Numbers 6:1
Again the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘When a man or woman makes a special vow, the vow of a Nazirite, to dedicate himself to the Lord, 3 he shall abstain from wine and strong drink; he shall drink no vinegar, whether made from wine or strong drink, nor shall he drink any grape juice nor eat fresh or dried grapes. 4 All the days of his separation he shall not eat anything that is produced by the grape vine, from the seeds even to the skin. 5 ‘All the days of his vow of separation no razor shall pass over his head. He shall be holy until the days are fulfilled for which he separated himself to the Lord; he shall let the locks of hair on his head grow long. 6 ‘All the days of his separation to the Lord he shall not go near to a dead person. 7 He shall not make himself unclean for his father or for his mother, for his brother or for his sister, when they die, because his separation to God is on his head. 8 All the days of his separation he is holy to the Lord. 9 ‘But if a man dies very suddenly beside him and he defiles his dedicated head of hair, then he shall shave his head on the day when he becomes clean; he shall shave it on the seventh day. 10 Then on the eighth day he shall bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons to the priest, to the doorway of the tent of meeting. 11 The priest shall offer one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering, and make atonement for him concerning his sin because of the dead person. And that same day he shall consecrate his head, 12 and shall dedicate to the Lord his days as a Nazirite, and shall bring a male lamb a year old for a guilt offering; but the former days will be void because his separation was defiled. 13 ‘Now this is the law of the Nazirite when the days of his separation are fulfilled, he shall bring the offering to the doorway of the tent of meeting. 14 He shall present his offering to the Lord: one male lamb a year old without defect for a burnt offering and one ewe-lamb a year old without defect for a sin offering and one ram without defect for a peace offering, 15 and a basket of unleavened cakes of fine flour mixed with oil and unleavened wafers spread with oil, along with their grain offering and their drink offering.

Is that a question for me ?

OK then.
He was about to offer two lambs.
As a Jew, there was no rules against his doing Jewish rites.
I wonder, though, if he thought it a tad hypocritical to "purity himself" ?

Amen! The fruit we bear is Glory to your Son...he is the true vine we are the grafted in branches.....your fruit will come to fruition in your children.

Jesus the True Vine
(Isaiah 27:1–13)
1“I am the true vine, and My Father is the keeper of the vineyard. 2He cuts off every branch in Me that bears no fruit, and every branch that does bear fruit, He prunes to make it even more fruitful. 3You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4Remain in Me, and I will remain in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me.
5I am the vine and you are the branches. The one who remains in Me, and I in him, will bear much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing. 6If anyone does not remain in Me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers. Such branches are gathered up, thrown into the fire, and burned. 7If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8This is to My Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, proving yourselves to be My disciples.
