What does "Because His seed remains in him" mean?

Being born again is different from how we live.

We are born again when the Spirit prompts us about our sin, about Jesus's salvation offer and we respond accepting the gift of faith, salvation etc etc.
Gods seed as far as I know is that gift of faith that lead to our salvation, that motivates us to live for God, challenges us about our thoughts, words and actions.
That is not how we are Born Of The Spirit.imo..what seed impregnates our spirit, when it’s regenerated?

How do you know God, by what means?

How can the Spirit prompt you, without first being Born Of The Spirit?

I’m not saying my opinion is any more valid than yours my friend, it’s not, just trying to understand where you are coming from.

We are most definitely at different levels of spiritual understanding.all 3of us.

We are birthed by Gods witness, His Living Holy Spirit.our spirit is what comes alive in Christ.

Thank you for being civil, no name calling here, Praise God! This seems like a really nice forum..

Romans 8:9-11

King James Version

9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

How do you know that Jesus died and was resurrected?
I take it on faith.

As Hebrews says - without faith it is IMPOSSIBLE to please Him.

If I have objective proof of the resurrection, then it is NOT faith and I am dead in my sin.

How can the Spirit prompt you, without first being Born Of The Spirit?
John Wesley called it Prevenient Grace.

John Calvin said it had to be predestination.

Jesus said:

John 6:44
No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day.

Thank you,Brother.

I could only understand that Jesus died and was resurrected , after I became Born Again, then Gods Witness, His Living Holy Spirit, witnessed that truth to my heart/ spirit..the Spirit also testifies with our spirit that we are Gods children.

Ah, I think I understand..I’ve been called a Calvinist many times..

Most definitely no one can come to the Son unless the Father draws them..Amen.

Hidden In Him what a joy to discuss here, I hope I haven’t spoken to soon, LOL..hehe.

Hello, Rita, and welcome to CFN. :wave

I was not aware you teach sinless perfection, but this is indeed generally a peaceful and respectful forum, and that includes in discussing topics like this one : )
I asked you a question, about what it means that Gods seed remains in us?

Can you answer the question?

Ok, now if I may, is it ok if I answer your question? I'm a student of the word, and I was discussing this with someone not long ago as a matter of fact. They were arguing that the "seed" referred to in 1 John is either the Spirit, or Christ. The Biblical context, however, suggests it is the word of God, which IF it remains within the believer will keep him from sinning because it will continue to correct his behavior and bring him back in line. What would you say to that? :Ongard

I can provide supporting verses, but let me start there, and welcome to Christian Forums. I hope you like being a member here. :thumbsup2

Blessings in Christ,
Your friend.

We have been forgiven of all so, past, present, future.
Does that mean we can still sin after being Spiritually born again and indwelled with the Holy Spirit because after all, you say we have been forgiven, past, present and future?

We have been Born Of God, His seed remains in us, are you able to explain what that means?
If you are Spiritually born again from above and indwelled with the Holy Spirit, John 3:5-7; Romans 10:9-10, you would know the word of God is the seed that's growing within you that will never decay or diminish. It's up to us to build upon the word of God and learn His ways that we walk in His will for us.

1Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
1Peter 1:24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
1Peter 1:25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

Luke 8:4 And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable:
Luke 8:5 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.
Luke 8:6 And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.
Luke 8:7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.
Luke 8:8 And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

How can the Spirit prompt you, without first being Born Of The Spirit?
Are you Spiritually born again from above and if so how did you first come to know Jesus and have that personal relationship with Him?

Hello Brother, where am I teaching sinless perfection?

I still live in a old body of sin, only Jesus could live in sinless perfection, he was without blemish, only a perfect lamb could atone for the sins of the world.

When I became Born Of The Spirit, which is a Living spirit rebirth, I was birthed, my spirit was birthed by the Holy Spirit, once that happened, only then am I clothed in the righteousness of Christ..
To make things more clear, I had never read a Bible in my life before I became Born Again, only after, I was Born Again by divine heart revelation, I did not have any say in becoming Born Again, I call, it my Saul moment, when I was birthed by the Spirit, it blew my mind and still does, after 33 yrs of being Born Again, I remember it like it only happened yesterday..
I even remember my burden of sin being lifted and nailed to the cross, Jesus has all of my sin, I don’t own it and I can’t confess it, if I do wrong, my conscience comes before God, I then ask him to help me, not repeat the same pattern, which he does, as the Spirit is at work in my heart, remember we have a new heart/ spirit within , we don’t serve that heart of flesh, which I believe is the old man...he becomes less and less as we grow in our new man...please give me time to answer the rest of your post...as when I type, I rely solely on the words that come out of my mouth are from the Spirit.

I’m not saying everything that comes out of my mouth is from the Spirit, I don’t believe that old man truly dies, but the more we surrender to the Spirit, the old man becomes less and less, hope that makes sense..

Edit to add, unfortunately many believers made a mockery of my testimony , as a new babe I was unable to explain what or how I became Born Again, that has taken years to understand in my spirit, and the only one who could bring what happened to me, the night I became Born Again, is the Spirit, by divine heart revelation, ..we are children of God....to be taken suddenly from Living in the flesh to suddenly becoming Born Again, was a heck of a shock to my system...I’ve had to learn spirit talk/ understanding as we are spirit children..33yrs of being taught by the Spirit and still I have much to learn.and, will never stop learning.

Hello for_his_glory ..my spirit is Born Again, Spirit gives birth to spirit..I can only go by Gods word.

The Holy Spirit is the messenger, he is Alive and Active in our heart/spirit...only he can deliver the word of God, no one can say Jesus is Lord, except by the Holy Spirit, he witnessed the truth of Jesus death and resurrection to my heart, when he birthed my spirit...we know of Jesus in our heart/ spirit, that is where we grow and mature, in our heart/spirit...imo.

Yes, the seed of God who imo, is the Holy Spirit, the word of God is Alive and Active.remember how Jesus explains to Nicodemus, the Spirit is like the wind, we can’t see the Spirit, therefore we can never know the time or place, he will birth our spirit, bring it Alive in Christ.....the seed of God imo will always remain in the Born Again, as their spirit was birthed ,it’s in Christ and can never be un-birthed

His seed will always remain in our spirit, because the Spirit penetrates the heart ,we are Born Of The Spirit, the seed takes root in our heart/ spirit...the heart represents the soil.....that’s where it grows and matures, His Living word grows and matures in our heart/spirit

So far, I’m enjoying being a member here, so far no one has told me I’m an idiot or that I haven’t a clue what I’m talking about...when we talk like that , it’s of the flesh and doesn’t represent Jesus, it represents where our heart is with Jesus, he has to wake us up to bad behaviour.and trust me at one time my language was that of a fish wife.

We are being made into Jesus image..imo, it doesn’t happen overnight, ..Jesus fruit takes time to ripen and come to fruition in our heart..that’s my way of explaining it.

Brother, I know in my heart I won’t be going back to the other forum, not to further discuss in the word.......I was there to learn and learn I did..I may visit and talk with a few friends.......I believe I’m going to be able to mature more in the Spirit on this forum...I want to grow, not stagnate, if you get my meaning.

Oh! Ok, my apologies. I assumed things. I was thinking "We have a member here who is just gonna love this," LoL.

Ok, I'll try not to assume things, sorry. :thumbsup

This sounds like quite a testimony...

But this is actually supposed to be the New Testament pattern. I believe it is supposed to take place at water baptism, only in your case it sounds like it happened sooner. and spontaneously, like at your conversion. Forgive me if I don't fully understand it yet, but it sounds interesting.

Fish wife, LoL.

Used to cuss like a sailor, but I've gotten better. If a bad mood really hits me and I'm comfortable with my surroundings, something off color will likely be said. But it's usually only if I'm upset, so I'm trying to walk in greater peace and joy these days.

Yeah, just let us know if anyone comes anywhere even near treating you like that. We frown upon it greatly, especially when it's addressed to new members who should be treated with the utmost courtesy and respect.
