How does one know if they are being faithful to Jesus, and at what moment can one know they are not?

A faithful child of God will pick up their cross and follow Jesus being obedient to His commands as a faithful servant of God.

Mat 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
Mat 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
Mat 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Mat 16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
Mat 16:28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

The Spirit empowers and leads us in the lifestyle (walk) of faithfulness and fruitfulness.

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. John 14:26

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. Romans 8:14

Christians should always take time to deeply reflect on how they're living and recognize when they're not being faithful to Jesus. Either what they're doing lines up with Scripture or it does not.
