What famous people have you crossed paths with?

Lol I know almost none of the people mentioned in this thread. But sparrowhawk's answer is the best.
Celebrity cult (even within christendom) is a distraction from God and from the people around us that we are supposed to care for or witness to.

I once saw the robot from Lost in Space when I was a kid and he came to my town.

I live on Ethan's families ranch... 50 + years ago...

Always laughed when Robbie? would go into his warning waring bit

I personally met and fed carrots to Michael Landon (Little Joe) and Dan Blocker's (Hoss) horses.

no, that isn't the case with this show, the robot in that show isn't called robby the robot, but simply robot. or his name really is this
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robot_B-9

and heres robby the robot.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robby_the_Robot

and he has been on lost in space as robby the robot.

So, Robby the robot is a bad robot but Robot the robot is a good robot, and even though Robby the robot is a robot he's not Robot... I think... Is that it?

Muhammed Ali in 1970 he came in to the fast food restaurant where I was working and I served him. He was always in Philly then hanging around with one of my neighbors. I have met other but none with his stature.

I never remember meeting anyone super famous, but I'm sure I crossed paths with a few that I just forgotten about.

During our Honeymoon, my wife and I posed with Al Harrington (the actor, not basketball player). Even back in 1986, I thought that he was just a fading star and the show was not that hot. I felt sorry for the guy as the announcer kept saying over and over again after his act and jokes, "Ladies and Gentlemen, Al Harrington!" as we were all clapping. My wife then caught on and nudged me saying that he's trying to get a standing ovation. I truly felt sorry for the guy, but I'll admit he was a nice guy and his jokes lightened up the atmosphere --- nothing spectacular, but enough to get a chuckle for the evening.

I do have a famous ancestor --- my 4th Great Grandfather spread the family name all over California (he was the richest man in California) if you are out that way, you probably know about this guy, and the famed Lick Observatory named after him:

Articles say that he had a thing for pyramids --- no wonder I have that same interest "in my blood" :lol

When my wife and I worked together at a Sonic (of all places) in Nolensville, TN a few years back we frequently met country singers Buddy Jewel (he's not around much anymore, his biggest song was "Sweet Southern Comfort" for those who may not know the name) and Trace Adkins.

Buddy's son actually worked with us as a cook, and he came up there quite often just to pass out autographs and talk with people - just help us drum up a little business. He was an awesome, down-to-earth guy who at least seemed like he'd give you the shirt of his back if you asked him for it.

Trace Adkins, unfortunately - maybe it was just a rough time in his life or something, I don't know - was a jerk. He didn't answer anything beyond "yes or no" questions, if he even spoke to you. And when his order would be brought out, he gave you this look that said "don't even look in my direction".

And, even though I didn't meet him personally, Little Richard actually bought my children gifts for Christmas a few years ago - indirectly. He actually frequented the restaurant my mom worked at, got to know her by name, and one day he asked how the grandkids (my daughters) were doing. She said fine and they were excited for Christmas, then he just handed her a $100 bill and said, "Get them a little something from me." Needless to say, my wife and I were speechless.

It's nice to know there are still people out there who know how to be famous, and not let their name go to their head.

Yes, Christmastime is a period when ppl do tend to give bigger tips! :) Not so often as big as the one just metioned, though...

I haven't actually met him in person, but I have chatted online with Jethro Bodine .
