What famous people have you crossed paths with?

When I was very young we lived next door to the girl who joined the Marines and made headlines when she posed nude for Playboy in 1980 and got kicked out of the corp. It was always interesting to see her in my dad's slide shows when she and her brother attended one of my siblings birthday parties in the sixties.
I suppose some militant secularists would argue that in joining the Marines she was bringing Playboy into disrepute.

Have you ever though that is there any celebrities viewing this forum?

No, I've never wondered about that. I've always known that there is at least one celebrity on the forum - me. :biggrin2

I've been on TV in four different countries, had an interview done with me on a local radio station, been a DJ at three different Christian radio stations, had a political cartoon published about me in a local newspaper and have had people come up to me to shake my hand and ask "Aren't you the parking warden that gave the minister of education a ticket?" (That will increase a persons popularity real fast.)

At the Spring 2012 Talladega Nascar races, I was walking on a path that led back to the RVs parked in the middle of the track where we had parked. A golf cart with sirens sped past me, and I could have sworn that I had seen Nick Saban in the passenger seat. A few seconds later I continued my trek back to the RVs, and on my way I overheard a couple passing by say, "I can't believe we just saw Nick Saban."

I heard Mrs. Schubert, yes-the dinner roll lady, speak at a 2009 Girls State conference.

I attended a lecture by Jimmy Wales, founder of Wikipedia.

There was a lady on this forum I used to frequent that claimed she was Franklin Graham's wife. Don't know if it was true or not. Don't know if that counts as a celebrity.

I don't know if this count's as somebody I've crossed paths with, but I'm Santa Clause. Seriously. I don't mean I play Santa Clause. I actually am Santa Clause. At least, that's what one girl believed. I was at a Christian retreat once, and I happened to walk by the area where all the children were playing. A 4 year old girl walked up to me and told me I had a funny beard. I made some quip about being like Santa Clause, and her eye's opened wide and she looked at me with awe and asked "Are you Santa Clause?" I didn't realize she was being serious, and said "Yes, I'm Santa Clause". Her mother later told me that, until she found out that there is not Santa Clause, that girl believed she had spoken to him in person, albeit "out of uniform", since it was Easter and not Christmas at the time.
