Jesus is confirming he has All Power in Heaven and on Earth. He then tells his diciples therefore go make diciples of all nations baptising them in the NAME of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. The diciples knew that name, the one and only name where there is no other name where one can be saved, that name is Jesus and they baptised in the one and only name that is Jesus. And Jesus confirmed the Apostles have the Authority to teach people everything he has commanded them, his chosen Apostles. And they baptised in the name of Jesus, but no no no says the masses we dont get baptised in Jesus Christ as Apostles did and said, we get baptised in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Spirit, 3 names who's names we dont know.
Jesus come in his Father's name. What's that name. Jesus.
Jesus is the Son. What's that name. Jesus.
Jesus said the Father will send the Spirit in his name. Whats the name. Jesus.
Jesus said no one sees the Kingdom unless they are born of the water and spirit.
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
"baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."
"Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
I dont see the other Apostles saying hold on Peter, Jesus said baptise in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Kiwidan,
I've tried twice to explain this to you. This will be the last time.
There is a FORM by which one must be baptized. That FORM is the one that Jesus Himself gave us.
Mathew 28:19 He said to baptize in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
I would tend to believe Jesus!
In your post no. 181 you say:
Who are you going to believe ladies and gentleman. The chosen and approved Apostles of Christ in the scriptures who all baptised in the name of Jesus, or, the thousands of false Apostles who baptise in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit?
How could you say that, when it's JESUS who says to baptize in the name of the 3 of the Trinity, NOT the "thousands of false apostles"?
Jesus left us with two sacraments: Baptism and marriage. What is a sacrament?
A visible sign of God's love for us. We give worship to God and build up the Body of Christ.
A sacramental right is not supposed to be modified. It is given of §God and His Word to follow as HE meant it to be followed.
Christ is at work in the sacraments we receive. It is HE who baptizes.
There was the baptism of John: That of repentance and preparation for the Christ.
There is the baptism of Jesus: The baptism of fire and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit descends on us as He did when Jesus Himself was baptized by John.
The baptism of Jesus transforms us into the likeness of Christ. We are adopted and made partakers of the Divine nature. THIS IS THE BAPTISM OF JESUS which differs from the baptism of John.
This explains the TYPE of baptism. That of John or that of Jesus.
THE FORM OF BAPTISM is a wholly different matter.
For the FORM, we must follow what Jesus instructed.
When two persons get married, when are they married? When the minister proclaims: I now pronounce you husband and wife. There are words said during this ceremony that are the FORM to be followed. I now pronounce you husband and wife are words of the FORM that is to be carried out if a marriage is to be valid.
So the FORM for baptism is as Jesus instructed:
I baptize you in the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
There is a difference between the TYPE of baptism
and the FORM of baptism.
I believe you are getting these two things mixed up.
We must follow the FORM that Jesus left to us in Mathew 28:19
