What is the Church?

Rev 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. (KJV)

The greatest power in the church today is the bias of the believers. Noticed I put a lower case on the word Church. There is a true Church and that has everything to do with the outward church; but much more to do with the inward Church. The inward church is in all of us for the word Church comes from the Greek word ecclesia which mean called out.

Four things men follow other then Christ: Colossians 2:8 See ye that no man deceive you by philosophy and vain fallacy, after the tradition of men, after the elements of the world, and not after Christ. Philosophy, vain fallacy, after the tradition of men, after the elements of the world, The name of God denotes the majesty the authority, the personality and the revealed character of God. In ever temple there is a god or and unseen god to which the temple is dedicated. God has given us a mind that must discover things for our selves. This goes even further when we understand that He is changing our mind from glory to glory so we can not just understand His Word; but that we understand what He is saying.

So many are like this verse in Isaiah 4 1And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man,
saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.

Isaiah 4 1And in that day seven women (The seven churches) shall take hold of one man,(Christ)
saying, We will eat our own bread(We will eat our own word/doctrines/traditions of men ) and wear our own apparel:(Our works are our righteousness) only let us be called by thy name,(But please just call us Christians, call us the church. ) to take away our reproach.

Amen I like that

'What is the church?'

it's a question the whole 'church' is asking at the moment. Kind of Ironic isn't

There is far too much confusion in the literal church for them to see the true Chruch.

Those who have God's revelation of Christ through the regeneration of God's Spirit are the Church

The people. Scripture itself says where there are one or more gathered in my name I am. People tend to think more of the structure itself as the very definintion of a church. The people are the body of Christ.

The pillar and ground of the truth. A community of heaven! :-)

Heb 12:22-24
22 but ye are come unto mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable hosts of angels,

23 to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

24 and to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaketh better than (that of) Abel. ASV

"BUT" at the beginning of verse 22 sets these thoughts in contrast to the preceding thoughts. The contrast is important.

Our Lord told the seventy that he sent out, to not rejoice that the devils were subject to them in the name of Jesus, but to rejoice that their names were written above.

Church = Temple ....No?

2 Corinthians 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple [Church] of God with idols? for ye are the temple [Church] of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. KJV
