I realize that Halloween isn't everyone's favorite holiday, but what about the candy?

What is your favorite candy?

Since I no longer can eat chocolate, my favorite candy is Red Vine Licorice. I also like Smarties and will raid my kid's trick-or-treat bags for all the Smarties.

Also, I realize that some of these candies might not be available in other countries, so for all you citizens of the world, tell us about your favorite candy.

Anybody ever tasted this Turkish candy called halva? If you can find it somewhere, try it and be surprised. The taste doesn't resemble anything else, and I can't really put it in words. It must be felt. Make sure the packet says Made in Turkey, from there comes the original sophisticated flavor.

My favorite kinds...seeing as I cannot settle on one alone are:

Little Bits O' Honey
Fire Balls
Charleston Chews
Gummy Bears
Three Muskateers
Twix
Reese's

And almost anything Dark Chocolate

Sesame! The halvah I'm most familiar with (Jewish and Greek variety) has sesame seeds and/or sesame paste (tahini). It has both a gritty feel at first and then slightly silky feel, probably from the oils. Good stuff if you like sesame. I don't know about the other versions. :chin

Anyway... Peanut Butter Cups, Reese's of course! :D

I like Smarties, but better than that is Bottle Caps. Love those, especially the root beer and cola flavored ones!

Reece's Pieces!! Yeah!

BTW, There's two different kinds of Smarties...

American

And British

I used to love them, their sort of like M&M's, but with a slightly fake flavour. I don't enjoy them so much anymore, guess my taste changed.

Every time I think of Junior Mints I think of Seinfeld. lol

That first picture looks like Rockets, which are among my favorite Halloween candies. I used to love the toffee/caramel candies that had the orange and black wrapper. I don't think they've made those for a long time, at least I never saw it in any of my nieces' or nephews' candies. :)

Real Turkish Delight is very good, depending on the flavour.

Yes, you found the words to describe it.

Then there's this Scandinavian specialty called salmiak, usually produced as small black lozenges, also known as salty liquorice. It contains a large amount of ammonium chloride. I think it's not too popular elsewhere in the world, for a good reason :lol

ummm, I think I'll pass on that one.
:lol
Seriously, it sounds like a sore throat medicine my mom used to force me to take when I was a kid.

Salted licorice is a favorite of my family--single salt, double salt and triple salt. Very few people I know like it and it is only available in specialty candy stores. It is unique, that's for sure.

haha i think of seinfield too!

hmmm mine would have to be 3 muskateers!!! i love candy but not alot at once, i've been buying the mini 3 muskateers (normal and mint) and keeping them out for the "trick or treaters" lol
