Blastin' the ever-lovin' snot out of wildlife from my porch with my 12 guage..... :D

Okay, now this just made me spit tea all over the keyboard...wasn't expecting it as I was reading through. Too funny. :rolling

Lovely~

What a simple and cosy scene you have painted into my mind...

ty.
Bonnie, you are very welcome. I am always so amazed that God has blessed me, and it's usually the simpler things that cause me to feel so overwhelmed by His gifts. Pretty neat.

Lovely~

I know just what you mean~ the simplest things like my grand ikds grins at me, the sound of little birds outside my window, or the slurp of the sudsy water going down the drain in my kitchen sink. It is a lesson we often learn later in life, that God never takes ANYTHING for granted . . .

So He commands thus: Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31

The thing I like the most about the rain is just listening to it. It is like getting a massage for your eardrums.

I wish I had a nice fireplace to warm up to during a rain spell, but when I look outside, my heart thanks God for giving me a roof over my head.

Where's your pistol target ? ;)

Yes, I do like to shoot at stuff. This was my first range trip with my new CZ 75B in satin nickel.

I've taken several people to the range that have never fired a handgun. Never had one leave without a smile on their face and eagerness to do it again. :)

OK, I'm going to go a bit off topic here, but since I started this thread, I guess it will be OK.

Now, this isn't exactly a "rainy day" activity, but this morning on Fox, Bill Hemmer talked with some guys who had made a Punkin-Chuckin Howitzer. They were blasting off pumpkins like you wouldn't believe.

Which brings me to a thing I'd really like to try out sometime:

Building a full size trebuchet.

I don't know why. I'm a girl. I like girl things. I like to cook and sew buttons and do cross-stitch. But, I just think it would be really, really cool to build a huge trebuchet, load the thing up with a bunch of pumpkins and let it rip!

:nod

Check this out. About 2:22 it shows the trebuchets. Excellent movie if you haven't seen it.
Something to do on a rainy day?

Watching that gave me an idea.

On our property, we have a fairly flat area that then slopes down into a valley and back up to another side of a hill. It's well away from the house. There are no trees and in the winter, it's all snow. Nothing that could catch fire.

I think it would be really cool to launch something burning like in the movie across that little valley. We'd have to put the cows away of course, but yeah, shooting off the trebuchet with some kind of burning load, in the winter, at night with mugs of hot cocoa. Sounds like a fun thing to do on maybe New Year's Eve!

Well it's raining here a bit and our family has just last night started up a game of Monopoly! :). So far I've got all the yellows (Piccidily, Lester Square and Coventry Street), Trafalgar Square, Eusten Road and about $1200. Not too bad, but I'll have to work on beating my dad who's got about three times the amount of properties than I do, and my brother who hides money under the table. :screwloose.

You know...I'm going to be careful what I suggest from now on. You're just like a little girl playing with matches. :lol :naughty
