What Jehovah Witnesses believe

The Watchtower tells our Jehovah Witness acquaintance that only 144000 people are considered "spiritual Jews. Only these 144000 they say, have 'spiritually circumcised hearts.

For over 50+ years the Watchtower Bibl;e and Track Society taught them that only these 144000 were justified as righteous in the eyes of God.(Mentioned below).

The Jehovah Witness is told that only 144000, (out of their 8 million) are 'in'(union with) Jesus Christ and the Father. 'Only these few,('their 'books' tell them') are sanctified. For all these reasons(about) 99.99% of all Jehovah Witnesses, will not partake of the Lord's Supper. Being told they are not worthy to do so,(for the reasons mentioned), and by a false interpretation of Jn. 10:16, and 1 Cor. 11:'27'). Lets examine these subjects and see if the Jehovah Witness has been deceitfully duped?

'By the way,' they are also taught that the Devil at some point in time, "overcame" the Church! However, If that were true, then Jesus must have lied to us in Math. 16:18... If that were true, then we must conclude that he was 'unable ' to see into the future.' Using WT dogma one must come to this conclusion. JW Elder:'What generation did the Devil "overcame" the Church.( Ephesians 3:21). When did that (subposedliy) happen? What generation was it???' If we can't believe him in those two passages,'what other promise of his can we cling too?

Colossians 2:11 ESV: In him also you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ,"
They are also duped into believing only 1'44000' of them are sons of God! Have they been made to read their 'books' so much that that don't have time to read these passages in their bible?': Jn. 1:12, (sons, because of receiving / believing), Col. 2:6, (sons because of 'receiving/ believing), Ephesians 1:13 (received /believed), Galatians 3:24-26 ('sons').... Romans 8:14,= Galatians 5:18.... JW: look where WT 'book' studies place you?'... What sort of spirit would want you to fail the test?..JW: Have you failed the test, (2 Corinthians 13:5)???
You have if you are condemned in the eyes of God Romans 8:9.

The WT doesn't want anyone reading John 17:17-23 because it leads one to the sacred mystery.' (Colossians 1:27, 28. What sort of spirit would want to keep the sacred mystery 'hidden?'

If their teaching tells them only 144000 of them are sons and daughters of God, then in all honesty,'why allow 99.99% of them to get you into one of their 'book' studies if they are not sons and daughters of His?'

They are also taught that only 144000 have the Holy Spirit of God in them and 'lead them.' If that is true, why in the world anyone trust anything 99.99% of JW had to say about 'anything, concerning the Bible?' If one is not a son of God, they are spiritually dead (in the eyes of God) like a non- believer.'-Romans 8:14,= Galatians 5:18.

The heart that is circumcised, is 'sanctified, ' (cleansed,) - Acts 20:32, ;26:18,Romans 11:16, Hebrews 7:27,('all, not just the priest), Hebrews 10:10, ('all.') The Greek ends that passages with the word ...'all.' (It doesn't end with the word 'time).' Compare with a Strong's Concordance in the kingdom hall library.
The JW Elder told me that Romans 8:9 'does not' apply to each Christian. It only applies to their 144000! After I proved them wrong on their abhorrent teaching on Rom. 8:9 with John 6:53-56, Ephesians 5:18, Lk. 11:11-'13,' 1 John 3:7, 24, ; 4:4, 12, 13, 15, ;5:20, They stormed out of the house. I called them back to the door and handed them my letter of disassociation.


It's so hard to open a "closed" mind.

They also teach the Lords 7th Day Sabbath is He himself! With some kind of doings with Heb. 4? (as some others around here do)

that said, I cant say I disagree with the first post. I used to be a jw. that is something I have never heard said about them but yeah they do teach that. I will say they do say that Jehovah always kept a remant but what I don't get is that bible was put together by the catholics and they never said why they accept the order of the bible and the same chapters logically despite that.

I think that the Jew beat rome by a couple yrs.;)! And even before that Abe was a Commandment keeper! Gen. 26:5, even see Gen. 12:5 for the souls he got in Haran. (and it takes time to have gentiles 'see' the Truth!)

I have a paper I wrote called true or false, a couple of pages. I used keep it on hand for when Jw's came to my door. They'd offer me their literature and I say, "ok ill take it if you take mine. Now when you have read it your welcome to come back and prove any of it wrong." None ever did return.

First, I agree with @reba , we should not be mentioning these groups as anywhere near similar.

Second, I think its very important that we know what other religions believe in. If we are to have a convincing argument/debate we have to know what they believe. It makes us that much more able to be effective in our communication to people with other religions. This is actually something I have been wanting to do more of.

Why do we care what the JW

Why do we care? Because we want people to be saved, to know Jesus as the Savior. We don't want people to go to hell. Many people trapped in religious cults are fine people, kind and considerate. They have lovely children that obey rules and are not rebellious little monsters. If they knew Jesus and were filled with the Holy Spirit, they would make wonderful disciples, don't you think?

Paul went right into the center of pagan beliefs and worldly philosophers and spoke the Gospel message.

sadly. most Christians don't know the basic doctrines. in part my dislike of the Use of the name Jehovah from my indoctrination has lead me to the usage and research of the YHWH and with that I have confused many a Christians with the name of God. I told them you will not get a simple verse or two answer to His name and his nature that will debunk the jws. they take is 43:10 out of context and that is where they get their name from.

I agree BUT God can save anyone in any group. I don't single out any particular group as either good or bad. It's the people in the groups that matter.
