The ammonia and mustards that lightly burn your nose and tongue...the sweet cabbage, the salty beef, the creamy potatoes all work in tandem to give your mouth a real workout.
By the time you are done your mouth feels taste exhaustion...and really satisfied with all the flavors, textures and smells you experienced.
They make plastic liners for crock pots so you only have to clean the lid...they are kinda nifty. My wife showed them to me.my parents were kind enough to invite me over for a mid-day meal. black eyed peas with some sort of ham (the usual parts weren't available...I'm not really familiar with cuts of meat, sorry ), out of the slow cooker...and corn bread.
great meal. I think I might want a slow cooker, now. their slow cooker seems safe and easy(ish) to maintain, so...there's that...

Whenever Kroger's puts steaks on sale, I buy them, seal them up and freeze them. So now, the freezer is layered with them, and to avoid going to the store a lot, we're eating from the freezer, and so we're eating pretty well.
