White police vs. American blacks

You ever been in a life threatening situation?

Have you ever been in a street fight?

Do you know what it like to be under stress with an elevated heart rate and to make life a death decision?

There are many reasons why this officer pulled on the man's shirt.

We will find out when the investigation is completed and we have all the facts.

JLB
I know. He was stressed. It's a hard job. Maybe impossible these days. There was error nevertheless. And that needs to be owned.

Ah, but we know in your heart you would rather they make bricks without straw!

You have the narrative backwards, as usual.

The Pharoah and the Egyptians were black, and the children of Israel were white.

You have me mixed up with someone else.

It will be owned if that was the case. The Chief already made a statement saying the State Police are taking over the investigation. That’s their use of force policy.

The Kenosha Police officers involved will be be investigated by the State Police. That’s how Wisconsin is set up to operate when there is a shooting or deadly force encounter.

Sadly, you can't seem to see the forest for all the trees. I
Please try to show a little respect and common courtesy for me. I try very hard to respect the views of others, including you. It would be nice to get some of that respect back.
It's not just about this black man being shot seven times.
I agree. For me, it's about being accountable for ones actions. I call it personal responsibility for ones actions.

. It's the same tired old excuse about the poor frightened cop being threatened by an unarmed black man while a 17 year old white boy armed with an assault rifle can stroll right up to the cops after just shooting people, yet the cops didn't feel threatened by him. Why do you think that is?
First,
Do you realize that his girlfriend called the police for assistance?
Did you know that he had an active warrant for his arrest?
Did you know he resisted arrest?
Did you know he was tased not just once, but twice for resisting arrest?
Did you know he wrestled with the police?
Did you know he told officers he had a knife in his car?
Did you know there was a knife on the driver's side floor of his car?
Did you know he was reaching for his knife when he was shot?

While technically you are correct, he was unarmed when he was shot. But you can't ignore the rest of the situation. And no, this has nothing to do with race. It has nothing to do with the color of his skin.

It has to do with taking responsibility for ones actions. He could have avoided being shot by simply taking responsibility for his actions and being a citizen who adhered to the laws of his state.

Again, he had an active warrant for his arrest. He resisted arrest. Does this sound like a man who is a model citizen? He didn't want to be held accountable for his prior actions.

Tell me, is this how you would respond to Christ?
I am talking to you, not Christ.

I know. He was stressed. It's a hard job. Maybe impossible these days. There was error nevertheless. And that needs to be owned.
I don't want to be misunderstood. The death or serious injury of a loved one always hurts. I hurt for the family members over the tragic shooting which will leave their son paralysed for life.

The officer will have those moments etched into his memory for life as he replays the event over and over in his mind. Trust me, he will and already owns his actions. And just like the person he shot, he too will have daily reminders for the choices he made on that very same day.

It's events like this that will shape and define what kind of a person they are, our desire to be.

It is events like this that will shape what type of a society we will be.

Will we be a society that doesn't take personal responsibility for our actions? Will we decry the sins of generations before us as we cling to the sins they bore on our forefathers? Or will we break free from our insecurities and move boldly forward?

America is the greatest nation the world has ever known. Have we made mistakes? Of course we have. But we don't blame those before us for who we are. We are not bound by their mistakes.

This whole BLM movement, while noble in many regards, is playing on the emotions of our society and it is bluring the lines between right and wrong.

Was George Floyd's death wrong? I believe the answer is yes.

But the situation between Floyd and Blake are not similar events and cannot be viewed as similar events.

The Bible teaches us discernment. We need to use that.

Would anyone like to discuss what no one else is talking about?

There is even scripture that will be used to gain a perspective.

Anyone?

one can't ignore the push for lack of accountability for decades and then decry when it happens .we delay or deny due punishment for kids who deserve correction then act upset when those kids ,now adults act like a fool.

Was George Floyd's death wrong? I believe the answer is yes.

I agree.

However they are showing evidence that George was high on Fentanyl to the point that his heart rate was most likely highly abnormal.

Fentanyl —
High risk for addiction and dependence. Can cause respiratory distress and death when taken in high doses or when combined with other substances, especially alcohol.

"When someone resists arrest and they attempt to walk away, which happens often...that in and of itself is not carte blanche to use deadly physical force, period."
from the article
This goes back to the point I tried to make earlier. If a police officer draws his weapon on you and tells you to stop but is not allowed to use the weapon to enforce that order, what good is it to draw the weapon in the first place?

After watching the video I have asked why the two officers just followed the man with their weapons drawn rather than tackling him from behind. Perhaps with the chaos of the situation they didn't think of that or possibly after already wrestling with and tasing the man they were too exhausted or felt it would be too risky. Who knows. That is up to a court of law to decide.

We can all give our opinions but the reality is that when in a situation like this, things aren't always so black and white. Sorry, no pun intended.

Exactly, that's the whole point, no person should have the right to just enter your home it don't matter if they are police or not. That's why police officers get a warrant first before they can enter someones property.

I'm not a fan of double standards.
Do you feel it is justified to use deadly force on someone entering your home even if they are not threatening your life? For example some states provide a homeowner with this level of self protection while other states, like MN, do not allow for the use of deadly force to protect property.

That’s what I wanted to discuss, that no one is talking about.

That‘s the first thing I said, when I first saw the clip.

The answer is: They already tried that, even with a taser.

The man overpowered two officers who had him on the ground after he had been tased. He got up and walked straight to his car to get a weapon.

That is why I say he was jacked up on drugs, probably meth and booze.

Which means he was under the influence of demonic presence to some degree.

Here’s what that looks like from scripture.

Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “We exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches.” Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so.
And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?”
Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, overpowered them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. Acts 19:13-16

But this thread topic is bound to divide us.
that is what BLM org is about they say nothing about black gang ember killing a different Black gang member . they say nothing about the black man who shot the little boy execution style . because he was on his property. we are in a race war as we speak and it is a shame we are america

Do you feel it is justified to use deadly force on someone entering your home even if they are not threatening your life?
that is a loaded question .if you enter my home not invited and i dont know what your purpose is. good chance i might use some type of force

I understand. Imagine waking up in the middle of the night to someone breaking in. Here in MN, if you use deadly force you better be prepared to prove that your life was in danger or face the consequences.

It’s Americans verses Left Wing, Socialist, Communist ideology.
:thumbsup:thumbsup
Nothing more.

Most blacks see this and want nothing to do with it.

Black Lives Matter has nothing to do with black lives, as we have so plainly seen.

Black Lives Matter is funded by left wing hate groups who desire to see a race war in America. Too see America destroy herself.

America stands in the way of Globalization.

for once we agree %100:thumbsup:thumbsup

every state has stupid laws. why they cant be clarified very simple is beyond me

yes they do
Poor, rich, black, Asian, Hispanic, American Indian, and even white may be targeted. I remember when I was in my early 20's there was an unwritten knowledge that anyone with a sports car or muscle car was a potential target and watched closely. I also recall one of our neighboring towns had a reputation that if you were from out of town, best not get caught doing anything wrong.

My neighbor and good friend who I respect and admire got into a rather heated discussion recently because I had posted a statement on FB regarding BLM and their association with Marxist communism. He told me that he didn't want his sons to be regarded as communist sympathizers. He said they don't use the term Black Lives Matter as a reference to the group but as a statement of fact. In other words black lives matter (small case). I replied, "Of course they do!"

Here's the problem. In the spoken word we don't know when a person is using upper or lower case. We all identify ourselves as Christian. Why? Because we claim to be followers of the original organizer, the Christ, Jesus. By claiming the title "Christian" the rest of society will have a certain expectation from us according to their understanding of what it means to be Christian.

Well, the original founders of BLM are self-proclaimed trained Marxists and have an appreciation for the American Communist party. I was watching a video interview with the president and founder of the greater NYC BLM and he made a statement that really hit me. He said, "I want black liberation and black sovereignty." For those that do not know, sovereignty means supreme rule. When people support BLM that is what they are supporting. This is not a battle for racial balance or equality. BLM is a black supremacy group and I cannot nor will I support them any more than I would support a white supremacy group.
