Sadly, you can't seem to see the forest for all the trees. I
Please try to show a little respect and common courtesy for me. I try very hard to respect the views of others, including you. It would be nice to get some of that respect back.
It's not just about this black man being shot seven times.
I agree. For me, it's about being accountable for ones actions. I call it personal responsibility for ones actions.
. It's the same tired old excuse about the poor frightened cop being threatened by an unarmed black man while a 17 year old white boy armed with an assault rifle can stroll right up to the cops after just shooting people, yet the cops didn't feel threatened by him. Why do you think that is?
First,
Do you realize that his girlfriend called the police for assistance?
Did you know that he had an active warrant for his arrest?
Did you know he resisted arrest?
Did you know he was tased not just once, but twice for resisting arrest?
Did you know he wrestled with the police?
Did you know he told officers he had a knife in his car?
Did you know there was a knife on the driver's side floor of his car?
Did you know he was reaching for his knife when he was shot?
While technically you are correct, he was unarmed when he was shot. But you can't ignore the rest of the situation. And no, this has nothing to do with race. It has nothing to do with the color of his skin.
It has to do with taking responsibility for ones actions. He could have avoided being shot by simply taking responsibility for his actions and being a citizen who adhered to the laws of his state.
Again, he had an active warrant for his arrest. He resisted arrest. Does this sound like a man who is a model citizen? He didn't want to be held accountable for his prior actions.
Tell me, is this how you would respond to Christ?
I am talking to you, not Christ.
