White police vs. American blacks

Because the blacks and burning down buildings and rioting, thinking that all they have to do is shout Black Lives Matter and they can get away with murder. And they have.

They have declared open season on police.

When you fight the police and disregard their warnings and go to a vehicle to get a weapon then you can expect to get shot, and shot a lot.

Pharaoh has spoken!

What will you do JLB when they turn there cry's to God?

What are the facts about the actual event then? You seem to be skirting those.

The police responded to a domestic violence call.

They found the disturbance was perpetrated by felon with a warrant. They went to arrest him. He resisted. They tased him, to no effect. (Obviously jacked up on drugs) the felon proceeded to get into the car after multiple warnings. He disregarded and got into the car to get something under the seat, he was shot.

Might want to read the article I provided for more detail.

Is this opinion biased? BBC News...a retired police officer / FBI agent says the police were in error.

The article states everything I said.

You must not have read your own article.

Investigators said a knife was later uncovered from the floor on the driver's side of Mr Blake's car.

That's the only morsel of fact in your favour. So you need to make the most of it.

More from the ex detective in the BBC article

"The retired detective adds that if Mr Blake threatened deadly force, drawing weapons could be justified. But he says it's "particularly disturbing" that an officer grabbed his shirt with one hand and fired with the other.

"It didn't appear to be life threatening at that particular point and holding someone in place so you can shoot them, unless they are actually armed at that time, seems wildly problematic."
Conveniently ignore this one ?

I would prefer to see those supporting the police in the first incident, to admit there was police error. That's all. Yes the offender might have been reaching for his knife, but overall it was poorly dealt with. The article mentions that ricochets may have hit the children inside the car.

Sadly, you can't seem to see the forest for all the trees
On the other hand, some of us need to notice the trees, the detail.
But your point is fair I think. The same can be said of approaches to the Bible. Big picture is more important in my view, otherwise we get lost in the detail.

I'm all for the police force and respect the police force in general, I'm just not a fan of police having too much power.

For example, the govern here has given the police the power to enter anyone's private property without a warrant. That's too much power in my opinion. Things like that I disagree with.
Just don't come in when I'm having a beer and watching the footy.

Exactly, that's the whole point, no person should have the right to just enter your home it don't matter if they are police or not. That's why police officers get a warrant first before they can enter someones property.

I'm not a fan of double standards.

but its events like this that expose our hearts and reveal the nature of the fruits we bare. I'm sorry to say, but yours is looking a bit on the sour side.
I was thinking more about this comment.
They are just our opinions. What Stove or any of us do in our real life is what matters. This thread just exposes our political biases. That's all.

You ever been in a life threatening situation?

Have you ever been in a street fight?

Do you know what it like to be under stress with an elevated heart rate and to make life a death decision?

There are many reasons why this officer pulled on the man's shirt.

We will find out when the investigation is completed and we have all the facts.
