Bible Study Who Is A True Jew?

Under the New Covenant the promise or inheritance goes way beyond land. Under the New Covenant one inherits all things. This includes salvation, the entire Earth, the universe and everything that exist.

to the gentiles, but not the jew, isreal still remains to the hebrew. that doesnt mean they have to live in isreal.
we only inherit the earth.

mat 5:5 the meek shall inherit the earth. we are redeemed and when its all said done we are back to being stewards of the earth.

but that is after the millenial reign, and what happens to isreal we dont know.

jerusalem is still important to the lord, if not why are we told to pray for peace there in jerusalem?

In the New Testament there is only one Covenant for all people......Jew and Gentile.

We must be careful not to say Jesus did not say. He never said that the Earth is the only inheritance of the meek. He simply said the meek will inherit the Earth. And if one study the Bible carefully you will see that our inheritance (the meek), whether a natural born Jew or a Gentile by natural birth, if one is converted then that person's inheritance not only includes the Earth but everything.

Revelation 21:7 (KJV)
7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

The Bible tells us that the saints will be kings and priest in the kingdom of God, and that the government of God will never stop increasing. The kingdom of God has been given to us.

Isaiah 9:7 (ASV)
7 Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of Jehovah of hosts will perform this.

Luke 12:31-32 (ASV)
31 Yet seek ye his kingdom, and these things shall be added unto you.
32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Daniel 7:18 (ASV)
18 But the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.

Bazzmeister.

Excellent topic. I agree with everything you say.

God is no respecter of flesh.

Flesh counts for nothing.

Isreal is the Body of Christ.

Any who come to the Father must come through Christ. Thats obvious.

The only bit that confuses me is the 144,000.

All the tribes are mentioned there in Revelation.

Does this mean that the 144K are phyical descendants of the tribes of the Hebrews?

I certainly dont mind if God wants to seal away a remnant of His original chosen people. Its His call. I got nothing against it.

But why do that as it kinda goes against the teachings of the NT.

If the naming of the tribes doesnt point to physical descendants then....//// What does it mean?

Doc.

The listing of the tribes in Revelation is peculiar.

Juda
Reuben
Gad
Aser
Nepthalim
Simeon
Levi
Issachar
Zabulon
Benjamin

Joseph
Manasses

Dan was 1 of the original 12 tribes, and he is not included above.
There has been lots of speculation as to why he was completely omitted in this list.

I listed Joseph and Manasses separately because it is odd that it list these two.

Joseph was one of the original 12 tribes.
Joseph had two sons - Mamasses and Ephraim.
Joseph’s father (Jacob) adopted these two grandsons when Joseph died and split the inheritance of their father (Joseph) into their own 2 tribal names - Manasses & Ephraim.
So the 1 tribe of Joseph became 2 tribes of Manasses & Ephraim.

When the Israelites left Egypt for the promised land, the land was allotted into separate territories per tribal name.
There was no territory allotted to Joseph.
Instead, both Manasses & Ephraim got their own separate territory.

So is odd that the above tribes in Revelation would list Manasses & Joseph, instead of Manasses & Ephraim.

We could go on for days as to why the tribe of Dan was totally eliminated in the list.
And why Joseph and Manasses are listed instead of Ephraim and Manasses.

To it's obvious that that is talking about the descendants of the tribe of Israel. If one reads verse 9 of Revelation 7 you will see that there will be far more Gentiles in the kingdom of God than Israel. It shows that God is no respecter of persons as some of us are.

Of course it does not mean that only 144,000 Israelites will be saved. The rest will be resurrected much later along with the other Gentiles in the second resurrection.
