Wresting or Reasoning Scripture

This is a sign of true salvation and its not one continuing to sin but one believing in Jesus and pledging a good conscience towards God. A change of heart, a spirit of repentance. By mouth and deeds.

It looks like your answer is —

believing in Jesus and pledging a good conscience towards God. A change of heart, a spirit of repentance. By mouth and deeds.

Which you could have placed under “Other”.

How many “deeds” must a person perform before they are born again?

But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Titus 3:4-7

that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. Luke 8:12

I tired of the repeats.

Its all irrelevant.
As we can agree on this.
Jesus-remain in me and I will remain in you.

I don't want to open another issue with 100 replies in regard to deeds this is faith proved genuine by action as in its not just what we state but what we do. Like Hebrews 11.
The whole point of grace was to submit to Gods righteousness not create our own by works of the law. As Paul put the importance in faith expressing itself through love not works of the law such as circumcision.

But those who continue to sin are not obeying Jesus and it is written God gives the Spirit to those that obey Him. Which is what Jesus stated. If You love me you will obey me THEN....
Acts 5:32
We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.

So those without the Spirit are uncircumcised and still slaves to sin.

Oh it’s very relevant, since this discussion is about salvation and what Jesus said verses what you say is required for salvation.

All you have to do is answer a question and there will be no need to repeat anything.

Since you claim that there is more to being saved than to believe, which is in your own words... believing in Jesus and pledging a good conscience towards God. A change of heart, a spirit of repentance. By mouth and deeds.

My question to you is how many deeds are required to be born again?

It's not a number but having love for one another.
I have showed you in scripture that the Spirit is given to those who obey God/Jesus.

John had to know that and stated," No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him."

So why do you think those that continue to sin receive the Spirit?

I have showed you in scripture that the Spirit is given to those who obey God/Jesus.

Yes. I frequently post the same thing.

And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.”
Acts 5:32

It's not a number

So believing and deeds is how we are saved but it not a number.

I guess now would be a good time to show us the scriptures that say we are saved by deeds.

Here’s mine that says we are saved when we believe.

Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. Luke 8:12

I thought being able to love was because we were saved, not a condition to be saved?

You know... because He shed abroad His love in our hearts by the Holy Spirit.

Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Romans 5:5

James - faith without works is dead.
John - The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
Me- as in loving one another.

This is more than belief.
We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him

So why do you think God gives the Spirit to those that continue to sin? I don't find that teaching in scripture.

Revelation defines the saints as those who hold to the testimony of Jesus and obey His commands.
Rev 14:12
This calls for patient endurance on the part of the people of God who keep his commands and remain faithful to Jesus.

How can one abide in Jesus if they are in a state of willful disobedience?
If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left...

How does sinning show belief in God and the resurrection of His Son?

I guess the conversation Jesus had with Nicodemus stated unless you are born of the Spirit you can not enter the Kingdom of God.
God gives His Holy Spirit to those that obey Him.
Deeds as in those who do the will of the Father in heaven. It does not have a number. As faith without works is dead. Works dos not have a number.

I'm still waiting for a answer why do you thing God gives the Holy Spirit to those who are willfully sinning?

You are mistaken.

Those that continue to deliberately sin have never known Jesus.
No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.

How does sinning show belief in God and the resurrection of His Son?

You have me mixed up with someone else.

I never said any such thing.

Still no scripture that says we are saved by deeds?

I didn’t think so.

We are saved, born again, regenerated, by grace through faith when we believe the Gospel.

What ”believe” means is another discussion altogether.
How we continue to be saved is we continue to believe.

Nevertheless we are saved when we believe the Gospel message.

Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. Luke 8:12

  • lest they should believe and be saved.

Believe, the way Jesus means believe is how we come to be saved.

We are saved by faith and obedience to Jesus's commands. Those that continue to deliberately sin after coming to the knowledge of the truth are not saved.

Those that say they know Jesus but do not do what He says are liars.
Those that continue to sin have not known Him.

God gives His Holy Spirit to those that believe in Jesus and obey His commands.

In the time of testing faith will be proved false or genuine.
When Jesus was testifying in Israel many of His disciples left Him because they didn't really believe in Him. Peter and the Apostles remained with Him other than Judas. Because they knew and believed He was the Christ of God and the Son of God. They loved Him and obeyed His teaching.

We are saved by faith and obedience to Jesus's commands.

You just mixed together regeneration which occurs by grace through faith, with receiving the salvation of our soul on the day of Judgement.

Rightly dividing between these two will help you understand the topic of salvation better.

Obeying His commands is something people who are saved can do, because they have the Spirit of God within them.

Those that say they know Jesus but do not do what He says are liars.

He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
1 John 2:4

Yes brother, knowing Him is eternal life.

Only those who have the Spirit of Christ can keep His commandments. The Spirit empowers us to love and obey the Lord.

They loved Him and obeyed His teaching.

Loving and obeying His teaching is following the Lord, which s a lifelong process.

The way we accomplish this is because we have His Spirit within us to led us and guide us.

At the end of this we will receive the salvation of our soul.

receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.
1 Peter 1:9

The end result of a life of keeping the faith, and not turning away from Christ, is the salvation of our soul.

God does not give the Holy Spirit to those that remain in a state of disobedience. Therefore those people do not and have not know Jesus. Their willful sin denies Him regardless of what their mouth states.

So out of all that call Jesus Lord Lord only those who do the will of the Father in heaven are saved.

Jesus - If you love me keep my commands.
To those who love Him and keep His commands He will ask the Father and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth.

God works for the good of those that love Him.

How do we know someone loves God? They keep His commands.
