Your one phone call...

So I got to thinking, if we had a phone that could dial heaven and could make one phone call to God, what would we say to Him? Some might want to ask why there was war or death in the world but to this another thought replies:

View attachment 2137

What if instead of God you were able to call the President of the United States. Let's say he was your childhood friend --no, wait! Let's Promote him and make him the most powerful man in the world, and you could call him and speak your mind? Would you waste the phone call trying to make him accountable for what you percieved as wrong or would you speak to something that is more vital to you?

Now, what would you say? Don't reply here, confess your heart to God. You don't need a magic phone. I think I'd start by telling Him that I'm sorry I didn't call more often.

My first question would be lord is a call to heaven a long distance call and who's paying? is it on my heaven tab or my Phone bill?

The next thing I would ask when is the rapture coming?

While I have your attention, when can Catholics use contraception?

I thought I might ask a question to help a few million people out since I have an audience with God!

My next question would be what do you want me to do.

And.. lord creation & evolution which is it? Which happened?

The answer I would suspect would be like this..

Chris if you knew who created me and if you did not know who created your lord what would it change?
Nothing lord!

Exactly! now stop thinking about silly things and go share the message I gave you.

What I hear you saying is, "Father? Your children argue."
and: "They need to give Your message to others instead."
But Chris? I think that God knows this already. Would you really use the call to say such things? The purpose of my thread (hopefully) is to encourage myself and others to consider the deep things that need to be said, not to generate replies.

So, yes. I've considered and after a moment understand that it is a worthy "phone call". It is by His word that we are saved. Sharing the message that God gave is what we are to do.

How were you made?
Are we alone in our universe?
When will the end come?
What family members of mine are in Hell?
Are these famous people in Heaven? (George Washington, Stonewall Jackson, Robert E. Lee, Isaac Newton, and Albert Einstein?)
Which denomination is 100% true?

Good on yer Eric what would we talk about on the forum everything's answered.

? I don't know all the answers but for people going to Heaven I know George Washington and Isaac are there, not 100% but I'd bet a lot of money they are. Also I don't care, what main stream historians say George Washington was most certainly a Christian.

Was God created, was He made, is He a creature?
No, He was not.

you missed the whole point what I wrote!
people wonder about things like big bang theories and who created god. they agonize over it for years. It is trivial and dont matter. Look again at what I wrote. Gods priority in my life is not wondering about possible theories but is about doing important things he clearly left details about.

He was created somehow. Pondering how God was made almost makes me wish that nothing was truly real. But we're all here so no one can say that we aren't real. It actually scares me to think of how everything came about, trying to ponder how something came from nothing and how that person was actually made it doesn't psychologically make sense. I suppose it's just an unanswerable question until we all go to Heaven.

Okay, pardon me for giving the impression that was all you said and that I messed up by missing the other stuff -- also I didn't want to single you out because there are at least two participants of this thread who think that God is a creature, not God.

If God was made or created then what exactly is the difference between Him and others? Why didn't He tell us there was some other God who created Him? One bigger than Him. The idea that God was made and that there was some point in time where He did not exist is simply not biblical.

My intent for this thread was to encourage expressions of deep questions that one may have for the God of Heaven and Earth. I would therefore encourage you and others who have these thoughts about who made God to ask in prayer and seek the answer. It is indeed part of His promise that if we ask and if we seek it shall be answered, the true answer shall be found.

Is ἄνθρωπος μέτρον true?
Ãnthrōpos métron:
"Man the measure."
“Man [is] the measure [of all things]“

I say no.
Man is not the measure and God is not a thing to be measured, nor is He a man that He should lie.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love you.

I've been thinking about this a lot recently, so here I am answering my own thread, "What would you, Sparrow, say -- if you had one phone call?"

The reason that I have been thinking about it so much is because I feel like I may have missed my one phone call. Of course that doesn't make sense because God is everywhere and knows all things -- but from my perspective, I may have already had my most intimate touch from God when I was in my twenties.

I guess what I'd say today is, "Have Your way, Lord. Your ways are higher than mine," but again, I know He hears all things and there is no need for a phone for that to happen. It's all such a mystery me. So the "telephone device" helps me because it gives me something tangible to hold on to, you know?

Cordially,
~Michael
