Jesus never started a war. Mohammad attacked mecca and other tribes.
Mohammad the peace maker?
Then again, who knows mohammad, knowone knows mohammad, all the information about him is not historically reliable and each islam sect has different beliefs on his life, so I may be wrong as he is seperate from the koran as authority over it.
There is no firm historicaly reliable information on mohammad. I do believe he did many good things and looked after and helped people, but that dont automatically mean hes trustworthy.
Same goes with christianity, many have taken Jesus out of context, but I believe he is truth. Many eye witness accounts written by inspired authors with multiple different accounts that all match giving there own seperate accounts that make one non contradicting story.

What I dont get, and feel free to correct me if im wrong, as the first quote this person says in the koran is, if anyone kills an innocent person it would be as if he killed all mankind.
Now not long before mohammad died, he was in war, after his revelations. He died not long after an attack, so is innocent just what he personally believed as being innocent. That word can mean whatever one believes. Whos innocent in mohammads eyes.

Thank you for posting, I think it is needed. I took a world religions class and learned that indeed Islam is a religion of peace.

It's as peaceful as living under the old covenant. It's basically a copy of the old covenant with a few twists here and there. I think that was the intention that it be a competing religion to Judaism because the Jews rejected Mohammed.

it is really so that no one would want (its people) to suffer, and there is usually a need of repentance in the faith, as Moses said to korah and the others with him when they tried to claim the worshipers(in that case the israel) are ostensibly holy enough(Numbers 16), the ninivites also considered themselves to be in the right direction of faith, but God sent Jonah the prophet to warn them that they commit great spiritual iniquity/lawlessness, and it really turned out that they needed to repent of all that their former spiritual/religious tradition, so the islam now is also on the same way, taking into consideration also the fact that muhammad was an innovator as a prophet of edom and moab (even considered to be a great innovator of his time - He tried to approach those worshipers to the true God)

yes, there were many imperfect things in the quran or things that turn(ed) out to be imperfect now, that is why there's a need of renewal in the faith of muslims, because muhammad was an innovator in faith, therefore the muslims should also be innovatory in faith seeking what is more and most right/good...

Mohammed was a follower of Judaism for a while before He started his cult. Islam was a small group until after he died. That is when it really begin to grow. Like many cults or religious groups, they can write their books or so called sacred texts with some humane or ways that seem right to man, but lead to death. The Koran is man breathed with some Judaism mixed in. And as you can witness, Islam is anything but peaceful. Islam is rooted in the mind of the flesh (self righteousness) and a book of men speaking for a god (their god) which is in their own mind. Islam is forced on the people or death. There would be much less members if it were voluntary. It is a religion of hippocracy.

Anything that has a way in and no way out without punishment is a cult. I see it more as the worlds largest gang. Thats what gangs do, they punish there members if they want out.

That's because this information from the Quran is ignored or filtered out.
This is the true nature of Islam as indicated in the Quran:
Quran 4:76 [Yusufali], "Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah, and those who reject Faith Fight in the cause of Evil: So fight ye against the friends of Satan: feeble indeed is the cunning of Satan".
Quran 5:33 [Yisufali], "The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter".
Quran 8:12 [Yusufali], "Remember thy Lord inspired the angels (with the message): "I am with you: give firmness to the Believers: I will instil terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them".
Quran 8:39 [Yusufali], "And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in Allah altogether and everywhere; but if they cease, verily Allah doth see all that they do".
Now try convincing me that at its core, Islam is a religion of peace. It is not. Anyone who tries to convince us of the peaceful nature of Islam must ignore these verses from the Quran.
What happened on September 11 2001 in the USA and on 13 November 2015 in Paris is at the core of Muhammad's requirements for Muslims who are true to their faith.
'Moderate' Muslims are like cultural Christians - they don't take their sacred books seriously. The 'radicals' are the ones who are acting on what the Quran tells them to do to unbelieving infidels, who are all non-Muslims.
I don't expect the situation around the world to get any better. In my view, Islam cannot be reformed because of the nature of these instructions from the Quran.

You quoted verses directly from the koran, and it says what it says. Its not peaceful.
As you said the moderates just dont understand it, probably never read it, and once there in, it also orders punishment for wanting out.

All false religions lead to serious problems. I mean, we have enough problems with Bible-believing Christians...imagine how messed up things can get in other faiths.
I don't think Islam is a religion of peace. I mean, I'm usually left wing, progressive, possibly somewhat Marxist, but...not a big fan of Islam. I find it to be oppressive.

I dunno...in medieval times, Arabic cultures were rather progressive. They were far ahead of European culture in many respects.
The problem, I think, is elements of Islam mixed with poverty, frustration, and lack of opportunity. I'm not a big fan of the religion itself, but I think the big problem is that angry people living in anomic conditions are clinging to the absolute worst that Islam has to offer.

India,and I know the Arabs stole their numeric glyphs from sanksrit claims they had the math first .once you learn the numbers of arabic,or farsi,pashto .they are all the same. Numbers are read left to right but are pronounced in the language that I mentioned.ie one is yak in farsi,yo in pashto ,arabic I never learned

Yeah, it says not to kill innocent people. But the problem is that in their eyes if you aren't Muslim you are not innocent. You are a sinning infidel and in that case the Koran clearly says to hunt you down and kill you wherever you can be found. That's the problem with using that text to claim it is a religion of peace. There is a percentage of it's people who are peaceful, sure, but it is not a religion of peace.
