The Most Amazing Thing In The Bible

The most amazing thing in the bible is when God's anger grew against all of the homosexuality practiced by the inhabitants in Sodom and Gomorrah and yet Lot, who was the only righteous man left in Sodom and Gomorrah, couldn't see their sinful immoral acts as causing God to be so angry that God wanted to destroy both cities.

Today we see the same thing as all the supposed Christian clergy cannot see the immoral act of homosexuality as causing God any anger. Additionally Lot's wife, who was told to flee without looking back, represents the bride of Christ – the Christian church – and today's Christian church is looking back at all the sinful acts of homosexuality with fondness and acceptance!

God help us all, as the Rapture draws near!

Believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and flee the immorality of homosexuality so you'll be included in the rapture when Jesus Christ will return for all of his faithful who haven't turned into a 'pillar of salt' (hint: like Lot's wife) and flee the immorality of homosexuality and all those who promote and practice it!

God Bless

I dont know if I would rate it as most amazing but your post is right on. Ive met many Christans that say some of their best friends are homosexual. I dont see Christians and homosexuals as best friends.

I often look at those with some kind of blindness.

I see what was said in Isaiah about it concerning the Jews. It was why Jesus kept saying "those with ears let him hear"

And I wonder what they did to upset God so much for Him to purposefully blind them so they couldn't/can't see their massive error.

Sodom wanted to rape The Angel of God...so they were blinded. The Israelites did something wrong too.

And today it continues with more people being blind to their massive, easy to see sins and behaviors that even children can point to and say it is wrong.

And I fear for myself and loved ones that we don't anger God as those in the past and present have done to make God strike them with spiritual blindness to the point where we can't see our own sins any longer.

ugmug, please!!!!!!!! The Bride is not fond and accepting of homosexuality. The Bride of the church is true to it's head Christ Jesus. The rest of the church may fit your example. The Bride is ready for the rapture, the rest will pass thru the first half of the trib.

There was a lot going on in Sodom in addition to the actual...sodomy. They oppressed the poor, neglected the orphan, the widow, the alien, the stranger at the gate. The way I read the sad tale of Sodom--as an ex-homogay--is that rampant sodomy and acceptance/affirmation of sodomy doesn't occur in a vacuum. Its not as if a sodomy-based lifestyle is the --only-- problem with the LGBTQ community, individually or as a group.

Sooooo...the "gay lifestyle" is really a cluster of sins, with the abomination of ongoing sodomy at the core. Out of the sexual deviance comes all sorts of additional sins, like mental problems and drug abuse and suicide and relationship violence and promiscuity and...on and on it goes.

I read the account of Sodom as showing what general moral decay and social disintegration, with rampant sodomy in the mix, does to people+societies. Plus, I think the sodomites of the ancient world weren't all the different from gay dudes today, a fact that I think was generally accepted by secular society until fairly recently. You see the loneliness and despair of homosexuals and homosexuality even in fairly modern literature...until fairly recently, that is.

What's strange to me is how sodomy has been repackaged and rebranded and is now widely accepted+affirmed, even by Christians. I dunno...

...I don't think an unrepentant, actively homosexual person can really be besties with a devoted Christian. Not that unrepentant, actively homosexual people don't need The Good News, cuz they do (I certanly did. Still do.), just...well, I think there's always something of a distance between the redeemed and those who are still hardcore in and of the world. Acquaintances? yes. Friends? Maybe. But best friends? I dunno about that one...

This is all very interesting, but I do agree with Mike S.' post. The most amazing thing in The Bible is the birth, life, death, resurrection, and ascension of Christ. Everything before leads up to it; everything after draws upon it.

I don't think is was because God was angry.
I think it was that God did not want the "disease" of sin to spread any further and damn more people to the second death.
It's rather like a surgeon who removes a tumor. He isn't angry at the tumor. He removes it because it will kill the person is he does not remove it.

iakov the fool

I think it angers God when Churches try to be politically correct as they keep their blinders on when it comes to any issue that is clearly spoken of in scripture as being an abomination to God. Are we to be pleasing to man or to God!

i am not sure that God being too holy to look upon sin ((and man being sinful)) is more "amazing" than that . .

His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
(2 Peter 1:3-4)

Being created in Gods image should give us some insight about Gods feelings and emotions.. Just ask yourself do you get angry.. do you laugh.. do you cry.. If the answer is yes then the rest should come easy.. The problem is sin.. sin corrupted man.. when we get angry it can get out of control.. God never loses control.. i believe that Gods anger is elevated when it comes to abominations and rightly so its an affront to his holiness..

I don't believe God gets angry in the manner that we do.
Nothing surprises God. He knows every evil thing that even the worst will do from the beginning of time to the last second.
When we say that God is "angry" we are imagining that God is like us in being subject to the emotions which arise from the flesh.

I understand the seeming apathy of an unrepentant church body and the frustration of it's settlement into the world of Satan's throne. But you are wrong about Lot...and the body of Christ. You should know the difference. The visible or nominal church is the "supposed" church. It is not the body of Christ, united by the Spirit of "born again believers" which are vexed and grieved at the abomination upon the earth of the apathy and acceptance of abominations against God's creation. And lot's soul was vexed with the lives, by which Sodom and Gomorrah's ungodly society lived, and was delivered from it. (2 Pet. 2:4-12) Surely judgment is just around the corner on an unrepentant
and abominable society.

Since this is B-I-B-L-E study it might pay to study the Bible on this matter.

How did the big HOMOsexuality that everyone in believerdom is so deathly against come about in the first place?

God made everything. That includes devils. They didn't make themselves. And these have sway over all flesh.

Then God cast a law against homosexuality into the midst of sinful flesh that says "don't do this nasty deed."

And what do devils in the flesh do? They RESIST this law by inserting lusts to do so.

Now that you all have a REAL scriptural picture of the reality of all sin, not just the sin of homosexuality, are you going to exempt yourself and damn all the other sinners who have "worser" sins than you?

Lol with that whole approach to the subjects of SIN and it's realities in the world.

I got news for all of you. God loves the homosexuals just as much as He loves you.

And God hates your demonic sins as equally as theirs if not MORESO.

Homosexuals are undoubtedly spiritually blinded by the reality of their sexual lusts being imposed upon them by the lawlessness of Satan.

It needs to be said that it is homosexual acts the Bible condemns, not same-sex attraction.

That's what i said Jim.. "sin corrupted man.. when we get angry it can get out of control.. God never loses control"

The verse "God gave them over to unnatural lusts" doesn't mean that?

To the point that He destroyed them all, their cities and warned the righteous to not look back. (Genesis Chapter 19) And to the point that God was grieved that He created man, because of the imagination of his mind was continually evil (mans mind of choice) (Deut. 30:11-20) (Gen. 6:5-7) under the principles of Satan. Man is a sinner by nature, inherited from Adam, knowing good and evil. (Rom. 5:12-21) The goodness of God and the awareness of sin is disobedience to God's will. God did not change His decision of the destruction of His corrupted creation. But is saving a remnant by faith of His grace....and then the judgment. The man who does such abominable acts are an abomination unto the lord. That is why He destroys those men.

You all should realize that Abraham bargained with The Lord to save the wicked along with the righteous, provided there was still a minimum of the righteous among the wicked. The Lord accepted the bargain. Thus it was not the existence of any particular sin which doomed these societies, but the absence of righteousness.:twocents
