18 It is good that you grasp one thing and also not let go of the other; for the one who fears God comes forth with both of them. Ecclesiastes 7:18 NASB

Were you not spoon fed as a baby until you learned to feed yourself? It's the same principal with learning the scriptures as all of us started out with very little knowledge other than knowing Jesus died for our sins. From there we grew in knowing when, why and how of Christ birth, death and resurrection as being God's plan of his salvation before the foundation of the world. We grow in faith and the knowledge of God's word as it comes by the Holy Spirit working through others to help teach us. If what is being taught does not line up with scripture then these teachings are that of man and not the Holy Spirit.

Yeshua/Jesus taught to think deeply about the Scriptures for yourselves and that's why he gave Parables. The Devil stops thinking for yourself so that he can totally control your mind.

Matthew 13:10-15 Young's Literal Translation (YLT)

10 And the disciples having come near, said to him, `Wherefore in similes dost thou speak to them?'

11 And he answering said to them that -- `To you it hath been given to know the secrets of the reign of the heavens, and to these it hath not been given,

12 for whoever hath, it shall be given to him, and he shall have overabundance, and whoever hath not, even that which he hath shall be taken from him.

13 `Because of this, in similes do I speak to them, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor understand,

14 and fulfilled on them is the prophecy of Isaiah, that saith, With hearing ye shall hear, and ye shall not understand, and seeing ye shall see, and ye shall not perceive,

15 for made gross was the heart of this people, and with the ears they heard heavily, and their eyes they did close, lest they might see with the eyes, and with the ears might hear, and with the heart understand, and turn back, and I might heal them.

John 14:25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. 26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

1 Corinthians 12:27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. 28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? 30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? 31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet show I unto you a more excellent way.

No man is an island unto himself as the Holy Spirit works in us and through us by dispersing these gifts within the body of Christ to help teach others as we study the scriptures.

Come to think of it, didn't Jesus say that we're supposed to spread the good news to others? Well when children go to kindergarten they don't automatically know how to read and write,.. they have to be taught first. So how are we supposed to know about Jesus if we were never taught about Him first?

Thank you.

I DO agree with you that we are not to forsake God's law.
By law, I mean the moral law....other laws have been abolished.

I know it's late and I'm about to go to bed, but just out of curiosity makes you say that it was originally a Saturday?
Jewish tradition ,its from,Friday at sundown to sundown on Saturday.all feasts are based on that type of timing.sunset always over from Jerusalem.the things I learned from tislev 25,Chanukah

To break the law down to something my feeble mind could grasp, I looked back in the Old Testament to do a study of the laws and started writing them down. I noticed a difference and so I drew a line down the middle of the paper I was listing the laws on and found they fell into 2 main categories. Laws pertaining to God and laws pertaining to our fellow man. I saw how Jesus simplified the law in this manner by reducing it to 2. Love God. Love thy neighbor. Therefore I saw there are two main sins (against God or against neighbor). Sins against God required sacrifice while sins against neighbor required atonement to that neighbor. What I believe is that , while Christ's sacrifice atones for ALL sin, I believe He never intended to nullify the importance of atoning to those we wronged.

Romans 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? 17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

A day is from sunset like Friday to sunset Saturday making it a 12 hour day.

John 11:9 Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.

There are laws (commandments) of God that were especially written just for the Hebrews pertaining to the rituals of the Temple, sacrifices, festivals, Torah, Kohanim and Levites, the King and the Nazarite. Then there are the existing moral laws (commandments) for all of us to still follow that falls in the category of the greatest commandment of love.

The average 24 hour day has 12 hours of day and 12 hours of night.

Yes, I agree, but the point I'm getting at is that people shouldn't just assume the Cross has them covered for sins they commit against others. I believe we should still confess our sins to those we wronged and repent from continued sin against them and then atone for any wrong to them to their satisfaction. I think the show My Name is Earl had some good lessons for christian behavior. Old Testament Law dictated this type of atonement to make things right where as nowadays people just seem to say "It's OK Jesus has me covered" then throw the burden on the victim to forgive and get over it.

With Elohim/God all things are possible!

Matthew 19:26 Young's Literal Translation (YLT)

26 And Jesus having earnestly beheld, said to them, `With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'

If we define the word Moral Biblically, as Laws and Commandments governing Good and Bad/Evil behaviour, are not all the 613 (?) Laws Moral? Apparently, in Ancient Hebrew the word is Bad and the word Evil is Western equivalent.

Isaiah 7:15 Young's Literal Translation (YLT)

15 Butter and honey he doth eat, When he knoweth to refuse evil, and to fix on good.
