What does it mean to do the Two Commandments? Can you see them in the Ten?
Yes.
His Commandments are about love.
Loving God, and loving your neighbor.
For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. 1 John 5:3
If we steal from our neighbor we are not loving him.
If we murder our neighbor we are not loving him.
If we commit adultery with our neighbors wife we are not loving him, but rather we are hating him.
If we serve other gods we are not loving the Lord our God with all of our heart, soul, and strength.
If we make carved images and bow down to them and serve them, we are not loving the Lord our God with all of our heart, soul, and strength.
If we take the name of the Lord our God in vain, we are not loving Him.
Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. Romans 13:8-10
He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
1 John 2:4
The way we keep the first commandment is to obey His commandment to love our neighbor.
If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also. 1 John 4:20-21
