I would say it would. I would say that the term means you consider a Jew either by religion or nationality to be an enemy. Most would likely include action against in defining it as well, but I think your statement is more accurate.

anti-semitism means you are anti "semite"
semite here refers to anyone that uses arabic languages- in which hebrew is also included, its however typically considered to be only against hebrews

Anti-semitic is not only racism against Jews, but Arabs as well. Hebrew is a semitic language, just like Aramaic and Arabic are. But people tend to only look at the Jews for some reason..
Likewise and contrary to what seems to be the current narrative, disagreeing with someone is not prejudice. People need to learn the definitions of words.

Words have multiple meanings, and even multiple sets of meanings. One such set division would be denoted meaning (dictionary definition) vs connoted meaning. (implied meaning or how the word "feels")

The denoted meaning of antisemitism is a racial bias against Jews and Arabs. In the connoted meaning, often times the Arabic side is dropped. And it can be that any decision of the State of Israel that is disagreed with is called "antisemitism."

People are constantly shifting what they mean by many words which leads to confusion. When I was a kid "gay" meant happy. Now it means something else entirely.

Shucks.....I was just about to report you! ?

Simply means hostile to or prejudice against Jewish people. A person who holds such position is called an antisemite.

Apparently the term "anti-semitic" comes from the 19th century Germany where they changed "Jew hating" to anti-semitic which sounds a lot better. Just thought it interesting.
