Hi God's Soul and welcome to CF :wave2

I thank God for you and that you found this forum. We are here to help you learn the best that we can. I would like you to start with the book of John in the Bible as this will help teach you about God's salvation through Christ Jesus and our relationship with Him. Then read the book of Acts as this will teach you about the Holy Spirit. Before you start reading pray and ask the Holy Spirit to open your Spiritual eyes to receive the word of God as you ask for wisdom and understanding. There is a Question & Answer forum here that you can ask any questions you might have. Praying for you and your new journey with Christ and here for you :pray

I would say this forum or any online forum is a lousy choice to learn. You will be bombarded with conflicting answers from Baptists, Presbyterians, Pentecostals, Roman Catholics, end time rapture nuts, Amillennialists, premillennialists, postmillennialists and hundreds more.

You were advised to start in the book of John. That will tell you about Jesus. But what about Him? Why do we need Him? Maybe you need to start at the beginning and learn about creation and Adam's fall and the resulting "futility"
Romans_8:20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope

You need to understand the Bible's intent to tell a story about God and his acts in history for humanity’s salvation.
Sure you need to learn about the Savior, but also why we need a Savior, and why this particular Savior.

Being on these forums is cool but you won't learn anything. If you were serious about Christianity you would find a good Church and talk to real people.

A appreciate everyone's answers
I do feel a little overwhelmed about this journey and I'm yet to start with the Bible, apart from bits and stories read online
I'm a little conflicted but I guess it's just the part on the journey
Stumbling upon the video about mark of the beast really freaked me out im currently really set up on theories about that
God bless

Talk about trying to run before you can even crawl !

The mark of the beast is found in the book of revelation. It is something mature Christians argue and debate about.
Please concentrate on learning what Christianity is and is not before diving head first into confusing theology.

I think end-times matters are important. There is a lot in the Bible about such things. The fact that there can be a lot of confusion about the end times says more about our abilities to complicate matters than about any confusion in the Bible.

The mark of the beast is not a trivial matter, but as someone who believes in the rapture of the church before the times of Israel's troubles will begin, it's not a matter that we who now believe need to worry much about, because we will be taken away before it becomes an issue for the world to deal with.

I do agree that becoming grounded in the basic doctrines of the Bible is important for someone who is new to the faith, or new to taking their faith seriously. Perhaps this passage in Romans would be a good place to start:

Romans 3
21 But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— 22 the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: 23 for fall have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. 26 It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

One of the most basic truths in the Bible is that we can't lift ourselves up to where God is. The things we do, the works we think are good works, are not good enough. But what we cannot earn by our own efforts, God offers to us as a gift, because of Christ's death for us. We have sinned and come short of God's glory, but Christ justifies us freely. Our sins are forgiven because of Christ, not because of any penance or suffering we might think we need to put ourselves through.

The big difference between Christianity and other religions in the world is this: in those other religions, man has to do some work to achieve whatever that religion considers good, but in Christianity, forgiveness of sins and eternal life are offered as gifts that cannot be earned by our own efforts.

Hope that helps.

acts 17:11
New American Standard Bible
Now these people were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.

Hey God's Soul

I'm happy to discuss any questions you may have. I do agree that the mark of the beast can be a disagreement among believers. Personally, I've come to believe that it just means what a person works for and believes. Hence the 'forehead', mind and thoughts, and the hand, what we work at in our lives.

Basically, everything that a man does, as far as work, is represented as his hands. Everything that a man thinks and believes is represented as his forehead. So, as I understand it, when the Scriptures speak of taking the mark of the Beast, and there is a place in the Scriptures where it discusses one of the beasts and says that it is a reference to Satan. it would seem to me that what God is saying is that those who work on works that are of Satan and those who think evil thoughts, also a matter of Satan, then they have taken the mark of the beast on their forehead or on their hand.

Who do you say that Jesus is?

Appreciate all of the support God bless you
If you'd take the time I'd appreciate looking at the bottom of my other post, I recently stubled upon another video, not the video I spoke about in my post but I replied with yet another

I've replied having watch the video.
Are you up for something strong?
If you are follow this link:-https://winteryknight.com/2024/12/30/atheist-gets-her-phd-in-astronomy-and-astrophysics-and-finds-evidence-for-god-9/

It's an interesting testimony but the meat is in the series of links to arguments based on science as to why a belief in God is more rational than not believing in God.

If you're not upto reading science basedarguments, could you answer miamatters question.

What do you think of Jesus?
I'll try look into it though I lack knowledge and it seems compkex
Putting the theories aside, I see Jesus as a brother who always looks after me
Of course it's more complex, this may even be blasphemy but I don't intend it like that
There is the father, who I fear a bit, Jesus the son of the father and the Holy spirit who I don't quite understand but see as a best friend for which I do know

Thank you God bless you

If you desire peace of mind and to know the truth then please begging to renew your mind by reading and meditating on God’s word; The Bible.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2

Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:31-32

Jesus is a brother to those who are Christian, but he is far far more than that.
He came at the request of Almighty God the Father, to take our sins, our guilt, our shame and to bear our punishment.
It is because of this that he is our saviour.
We know that he achieved this because he rose from the dead.

Christianity stands or falls on this. Did Jesus rise from the dead?
I'm biased I am convinced he did both by scripture, by historical evidence and my own spiritual experience.
So john1:12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—

Yeah, I also share this opinion
My problem is that there os so many misinformation as well as distracting theories pulling me away or perhaps blocking me from learning the right way

Please stick to reading and meditating on the scriptures.

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. John 10:27-28

Every thing else is a distraction.

There are a lot of people in the world with opinions, but only God knows what we need and when.

I just want to welcome you to the Kingdom as part of the family and tell you that Jesus is your best friend and will guide you every step of the way.

If you are praying to Him and giving Him your heart and seeking His direction He will take care of you and you can't go wrong. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

It's a relationship, not a college class or a test on knowledge of Bible history or theology.

The right way... is giving Him your heart and letting Him take care of the rest.

Trusting in Jesus is the right way. (John 14:1)

He said to follow Him.

He loves you. Remember that and it will keep you in love with Him.

1 John 4:19
We love him, because he first loved us.

Lean on Jesus and pray to Him when you need direction. He will guide.

The vertical relationship is where we get guidance, not from horizontal people. He knows us best.

If you feel alone or unheard.

Pray Until Something Happens

Lord Jesus will never let you down.

Lastly...

Matthew 7:7
Ask Seek Knock
The promise is given. Use it. If you are curious about things... dive in. He promised.
