The teachings (doctrine) of Christ; The Truth

Always glad to have you double-check my understanding of GW. Thanks.
I added "apostate" only recently as the result of discussions on another forum.
The verse that indicates the possibility of never having truly believed is 1JN 2:19 in #d.
Messiah/Savior is kerygmatic, but Lord indicates an ongoing didachaic sanctification.
Yes, some people prefer cheap grace by deemphasizing the latter.
The accusation of believing in works salvation is what prompted the insight shared previously:
[[There is no qualitative difference between faith that accepts God’s saving grace at conversion and faith that accepts God’s working grace or motivates good works while walking/living (Eph. 2:8-10, 2Cor. 5:7), but only a quantitative difference as each additional moment passes–and of course faith remains non-meritorious during the saint’s entire lifetime (Rom. 1:17). IOW, the ability to do good works as well as have saving faith are both due to God’s grace.]]
When Paul referred to filthy rags, he was not meaning the fruit of the Spirit.
Actually, instead of saying we "must" obey God, I say that genuine Christians indwelt by the HS "will" cooperate with God and reflect His love.
I guess you and JLB have figured out that I use the term "didache" to refer to secondary teachings as indicated by the Scriptures I cited.
Yes, many statements of GRFS by Jesus are stated in terms of doing with faith assumed, as in the following list I will add FYI:

Forgive or your sins will not be forgiven.

For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Matthew 6:14-15

Then his master, after he had called him, said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me. Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant, just as I had pity on you?’ And his master was angry, and delivered him to the torturers until he should pay all that was due to him.
So My heavenly Father also will do to you if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his brother his trespasses
.” Matthew 18:32-35

If we die in our sins because we refuse to forgive others then we are just as those who are without Christ who do not have their sins forgiven.

True. I overlooked that one, so I will add it to the list on our website soon. Thanks.
Anything else on your mind?

Always glad to have you double-check my understanding of GW. Thanks.

The verse that indicates the possibility of never having truly believed is 1JN 2:19 in #d.
Re
1 John 2:19
19They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that it would be shown that they all are not of us.

The above are not persons that claimed to believe the gospel,,,
but persons that NEVER believed the gospel.
This cannot be applied to everyone that states they are believers, but then leave.
If you've studied some early church history, it is known that John meant gnostics who were already starting to enter the church and trying to change what the early church was teaching, or adding to it.

This is confirmed, scripturally, by the verse just before:

1 John 2:18
18Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared; from this we know that it is the last hour.

And what did the gnostics teach?
That the spirit is detached from the flesh...
what the flesh does has nothing to do with the spirit.
IOW,,,what was done by the flesh was not sinful - being totally separate from the spirit.

See

1 John 2:15-16
15Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.

John specifically states that we are not to love the world.
He makes a specific point of stating that THE ONE WHO DOES THE WILL OF GOD LIVES FOREVER.

1 John 2:17
17The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever.

All the writers teach that we are to abide in Christ, to endure to the end, to obey the will of God IF we want to live forever.

So this is addressing believers...
1 John 2:19 is addressing some that never believed because they were gnostics.

All the warnings in the NT...all the IF's teach that it is possible to be a BELIEVER and then fall away.

Two totally different concepts.

All this to say that I fully agree that you added apostate to your list...
and the meaning of 1 John 2:19 which meaning seems to be lost to many of us.
Messiah/Savior is kerygmatic, but Lord indicates an ongoing didachaic sanctification.

Everything we do is by God's grace.
Jesus said He would send the helper.
Without God we can do nothing...

So to say that we do good works BECAUSE we are saved is not sufficient.
It is NOT sufficient because there are those that teach cheap grace,,,easy believism....as you've stated.
IOW,,,what they teach is that we are not required to DO ANYTHING since Jesus has done it all.
All we need is to have faith.
But faith without works is dead and useless.

And, some go even beyond that, teaching that our works are as filthy rags to God...
even stating that they are sinful.
When all Jesus spoke about for His entire ministry was obeying God and doing good works.

When Paul referred to filthy rags, he was not meaning the fruit of the Spirit.
Actually, instead of saying we "must" obey God, I say that genuine Christians indwelt by the HS "will" cooperate with God and reflect His love.

I have a list of 48 teachings by Jesus of what we are TO DO.
But, again, some say this is works salvation.

So I don't like to end with WE DO GOOD WORKS BECAUSE WE ARE SAVED.
I like to say WE DO GOOD WORKS BECAUSE GOD COMMANDS OBEDIENCE AND THAT INCLUDES GOOD WORKS.

(I'm not screaming!).

I have a list of 48 teachings by Jesus of what we are TO DO.
But, again, some say this is works salvation.

Please post your list here for all to read and understand.

Please post your list here for all to read and understand.
It's not my list, but one I get from the internet.
(however, it never makes any difference to those for whom I post it)...

Abide in Me

“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” (John 15:4–5)

Repent

“From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 4:17).

Follow Me

“And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men” (Matthew 4:19).

Rejoice

“Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you” (Matthew 5:11–12).

Let Your Light Shine

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).

Honor God’s Law

“Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil” (Matthew 5:17).

Be Reconciled

“Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift” (Matthew 5:23–24).

Do Not Lust

“But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell” (Matthew 5:28–30).

Keep Your Word

“But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil” (Matthew 5:37).

Go the Second Mile

“Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away” (Matthew 5:38–42).

Love Your Enemies

“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? Do not even the publicans the same?” (Matthew 5:44–46).

Be Perfect

“For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect” (Matthew 5:46–48).

Practice Secret Disciplines

“. . . When thou doest thine alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. . . . When thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. . . . When thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly” (Matthew 6:1–18).

Lay Up Treasures

“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also” (Matthew 6:19–21).

Seek God’s Kingdom

“Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33).

Judge Not

“Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?” (Matthew 7:1–3).

Do Not Cast Pearls

“Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you” (Matthew 7:6).

Ask, Seek, Knock

“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened” (Matthew 7:7–8).

Do Unto Others

“Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets” (Matthew 7:12).

Choose the Narrow Way

“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it” (Matthew 7:13–14).

Beware of False Prophets

“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?” (Matthew 7:15–16).

Pray for Laborers

“The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest” (Matthew 9:37–38).

Be Wise as Serpents

“Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves” (Matthew 10:16).

Fear Not

“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell” (Matthew 10:28).

Hear God’s Voice

“He that hath ears to hear, let him hear” (Matthew 11:15).

Take My Yoke

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28–30).

Honor Your Parents

“For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death” (Matthew 15:4).

Beware of Leaven

“Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees” (Matthew 16:6).

Deny Yourself

“If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?” (Luke 9:23–25).

Despise Not Little Ones

“Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 18:10).

Go to Offenders

“Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican” (Matthew 18:15–17).

Beware of Covetousness

“And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth” (Luke 12:15).

Honor Marriage

“And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder” (Matthew 19:4–6).

Forgive Offenders

“Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven” (Matthew 18:21–22).

Be a Servant

“. . . Whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many” (Matthew 20:26–28).

Be a House of Prayer

“It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.” (Matthew 21:13).

Ask in Faith

“Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive” (Matthew 21:21–22).

Bring In the Poor

“Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompense be made thee. But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just” (Luke 14:12–14).

Render to Caesar

“Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? They say unto him, Caesar’s. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s” (Matthew 22:19–21).

Love the Lord

“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment” (Matthew 22:37–38).

Love Your Neighbor

“And the second [commandment] is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets” (Matthew 22:39–40).

Await My Return

“Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh” (Matthew 24:42–44).

Take, Eat, and Drink

“And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins” (Matthew 26:26–28).

Be Born Again

“Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again” (John 3:5–7).

Keep My Commandments

“If ye love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15).

Watch and Pray

“Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak” (Matthew 26:41).

Feed My Sheep

“So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep” (John 21:15–16).

Baptize My Disciples

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” (Matthew 28:19).

Receive God’s Power

“And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high” (Luke 24:49).

Make Disciples

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations . . . . Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen” (Matthew 28:19–20).

Thank you.

I’m going through 1 John now and writing down all the commandments.

I’m sure I will be going through that book several times.
There are commands in all the writings....
either said directly by Jesus or OF what He taught.

It's quite an undertaking.
Happy hunting!

Re

1. Re 1JN 2:19, Yes, as you noted, you commended me for listing those in category d on post 19:
[[a person who claims to be godly but who is behaving in an ungodly (unloving, untruthful) manner may be in one of the following categories:

a. a normally loving person observed during a rare moment when he/she acted uncharacteristically (PHP 3:12-16),
b. an immature Believer, who is making progress–you should have known him/her a year ago! (1CR 3:1-3, EPH 4:11-15)
c. a truthseeker who has not yet learned the correct interpretation of God’s Word (1CR 6:9-11, EPH 5:8-9), or
d. a pseudo-Christian (MT 7:21, 1JN 2:19), who may affirm morality while rejecting its divine rationale.
e. an apostate (1JN 2:19, HB 6:4-6), who once believed but became blasphemous or foolish and ship-wrecked their faith (1TM 1:19-20).

I would amend your statement regarding grace to say that every GOOD thing we do is because God graces believers with that ability. And God graces every sinner with the ability/MFW to become a believer/saved sinner. God initiates; souls cooperate--or not.

Yes, it is problematic whether antinomians have saving faith, because believing in cheap grace is defective.

Perhaps your father was not as godly or loving as mine, because our relationship was not that of dictator whose
commands I obeyed but rather that of Dad whose will I gladly cooperated with (usually :^)

I’m going through 1 John now and writing down all the commandments.

I’m sure I will be going through that book several times.
Yes, it's a great one, which should be read with the gospel of John as context, of course,
especially John 13:34-35, 16:12-14, and 17:20-23.
Perhaps you will want to lead a discussion of 1John on this thread now that I am done with sharing about GRFS, although I would like to add the following:

Although perfection is not achieved in this life, the necessity of learning the didache in order to strive for perfection indicates the need for perseverance or to keep on learning and growing spiritually until we die physically (PHP 3:12-14). Thus, although learning any specific part of the didache is not GRFS, a person who does not “hunger and thirst for righteousness” (MT 5:6) or want to learn “every word that comes from the mouth of God” (MT 4:4) fails the self-examination Paul commanded and Jesus implied (mentioned previously). Perseverance is didachaic fruit/faithfulness (GL 5:22) following (EPH 2:8-10) and building on kerygmatic faith (1CR 3:10-15). In EPH 2:10, “walk” can be translated as “walking with God”, which is an apt (KJV) way of indicating working grace that enables saved sinners (those who exercised seeking grace to choose saving grace) to cooperate with the HS by reflecting divine love variously (RM 5:5-8 & 12:6-8, GL 5:22-23, & 1CR 12:4-11).

If we truly believe in Jesus as Christ, the One who represents God the Father, then we will also accept Him as Lord (LK 2:11) or God the Son (MT 16:16) or God in the human dimension (CL 2:9). When we truly accept Jesus as Lord, we will want to please Him by doing His will (MT 7:21, EPH 5:8-10). Learning the manifold teachings or doctrines describing God’s moral will takes a lifetime. Thus, the need for perseverance/loyalty/remaining faithful, which is as easy or simple as an act of will. Remain faithful until the end.

Paul taught the importance of continuing to learn God’s Word (LGW) in 2TM 3:14-17, saying “Continue in what you have learned and have been convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

Several things in this pericope are worth noting:

1. “Continue” speaks of perseverance.
2. “Convinced” speaks of confident faith rather than of absolute certainty.
3. “Learning GW from infancy” refers to God’s “plan A” for parenting.
4. “Able” speaks of having volition or faith to seek–or not (MT 7:7, RM 3:11).
5. “All Scripture is God-breathed and useful…” refers to the reason God inspired the OT and NT canons.
6. “Servant of God” is the meaning of the word “Muslim”.
7. “Equipped” refers to having spiritual armor by which to defeat the devil’s schemes (EPH 6:10-18).
8. “Teaching” implies LGW as the main method of becoming mature or fully equipped, which means having humility = teachability.

Paul explains how LGW may be accomplished in EPH 4:11-13: “Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”

For those able to obtain a Bible (thanks to the invention of the printing press), much can be learned simply by reading it. It makes sense to start with a gospel such as Matthew, next read an epistle such as Ephesians, then an OT book such as Genesis to begin providing context for the NT Gospel, followed by Acts and Hebrews to learn how the church superseded the Torah. Romans 1&2 (creation and conscience) indicate how souls who had no opportunity to learn Scripture may be saved (called general revelation), and Romans 3-5 reveal GRFS in the NT era. Revelation is about the ultimate destiny of souls, and 1Corinthians 15:14 admits that if Christ is not raised, then LGW about how to be saved is useless.

We see that God’s goal for our faith is attaining Christ-like moral maturity and spiritual unity (EPH 1:4 & 2:10), so God’s will is resisted or contradicted by people who have a judgmental and divisive spirit rather than God’s loving or Holy Spirit. Jesus warned against this evil spirit early in his ministry (MT 7:1-5&21). Also near the end of his earthly life, Jesus prayed for godly unity (JN 17:20-23). It is up to each of us to cooperate with God in answering this prayer.

Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you. 1 Timothy 4:1

Yes, continue believing what you have already learned, and continue to learn what you have not yet learned
(Phil. 3:12-16)--and no reply regarding studying 1 John together (which I interpret as a no :^). TTYL

I will let this thread continue as is.

Maybe later we can do one on 1 John.

1. Re 1JN 2:19, Yes, as you noted, you commended me for listing those in category d on post 19:
[[a person who claims to be godly but who is behaving in an ungodly (unloving, untruthful) manner may be in one of the following categories
a. a normally loving person observed during a rare moment when he/she acted uncharacteristically (PHP 3:12-16),
b. an immature Believer, who is making progress–you should have known him/her a year ago!
I don't believe 1 John 2:19 is speaking about an Apostate...
although I do agree that some do depart from the faith.
If you cannot agree regarding 1 John 2:19, I'm not going to debate it...although it is early church history.

There is enough scripture in the NT writings so that 1 John 2:19 does not become pivotal for providing proof that some were never believers to begin with.
I would amend your statement regarding grace to say that every GOOD thing we do is because God graces believers with that ability. And God graces every sinner with the ability/MFW to become a believer/saved sinner. God initiates; souls cooperate--or not.
Where did I say otherwise??
...on both counts: Those that believe and those that do not believe.
Yes, it is problematic whether antinomians have saving faith, because believing in cheap grace is defective.
I wasn't addressing antinomianism. (which is more than defective!).
I was addressing gnostics in the early church...while John was still alive and whom he was addressing in
1 John 2:19.
Perhaps your father was not as godly or loving as mine, because our relationship was not that of dictator whose
commands I obeyed but rather that of Dad whose will I gladly cooperated with (usually :^)
You might gladly cooperate with God.
What if you're not so glad to cooperate with Him?
Are you not required to do so?
If I'm not happy with any particular command...can I do as I wish?

Oops! I'm sorry for my senior moment. I meant d. I forgot that I recently added apostate as e.
Regarding cheap grace, that is tantamount to antinomianism and antinomianism is a part of agnosticism,
unless my memory is failing again (which is always possible).
If we are not glad to cooperate with God, then we need to get right/in fellowship with Him.
If your wish is a sin, then it should be confessed per 1John 1:9.
