  • Yeah, among some of the friends I have made there so far are some teens who like Skillet, Red, and Disciple. xD Among others. Which is unimportant, of course. But neat. They also like a Christian rap artist called LeCrae. I've heard of him, but never really listened to his music.
Yeah, I'm glad I started going there. I can also get fellowship with people my age, and I have more opportunities to participate in and help out with church activities.
I hope your trip went well.
Hey Farouk, I'm doing well. Thank you. Staying busy with classes and getting excited seeing I've only got six classes left. Second year is gonna be awesome 'cause I'll get to meet some of my classmates from my online classes when we all head to campus for our second year. :-)

Hope all is well and blessings to you and your wife.
My browser blocks ads, so I didn't see them. I was using a different browser for a while, but it seemed to slow my computer down even more. I had heard it was better, too. Oh well.

The AMV I linked to has some verses at the end. I thought that was pretty cool.
Another song I love: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZBEFFWnX7c This one's by Disciple. And here's an AMV I love with this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJfoZSJMHbs&list=FLnSS3_rserGl-XVWFIewgLw&index=164 (Because I can. =P Anyway, the song totally fits that character. In my opinion, Edward Elric is probably the best character I've seen in any franchise ever. And I just like the visual representation that music videos provide with songs, especially if they fit as well as that one does.)
To me it always sounds like someone questioning God. But I can definitely see other meanings.
I was able to find a good AMV of one of my favorite anime series with the song. I'd link to it, but it's a little too violent for this site, I think. Fighting, and some people get killed, and cartoon blood. Anyway, I think the song fits the series pretty well for some parts of it.

Pieces was the first song I heard by Red, and it's still one of their best IMO. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Uw8mIcQJn8
Yeah, someone was telling me not to listen to liberal sources. I thought they were talking about politics, but some minutes later found out they meant theology...confusing. (They were implying that the research I did on subjects like KJV-onlyism came from "liberal" sources, and therefore, according to them, not to be trusted. They seem to think that looking at other sides does more harm than good, and that I don't know enough to decide for myself.) Even so, if all I ever looked at were things I agreed with, I'd never learn much.

Anyway, yeah. I need to go soon myself. I have church.
What I don't get is how some of them think we need to get rid of "liberal" teachers and "liberal teachings in the educational system". Teachers have the right to their own POV, y'know? (IMO, the best option for education during the school years is homeschooling, anyway. The parent has better control over what the kids learn.)

Someone was messaging me on another site some months ago about how he felt spiritually abused by certain Christian teachers he used to follow, specifically jesus-is-savior.com. (The owner of the site was arrested for statuary rape.) The site looks okay, until you come across articles spouting all kinds of legalism. He used to believe the things on the website, and then he found out the owner was a hypocrite.
Things like that website leave a bad taste in my mouth, figuratively speaking.
Yes, well, the term Fundamentalist started in the US in reference to some papers written about 90 to 100 years ago called 'The Fundamentals'. Although I don't recall reading through them, I imagine they would be quite good in their content. Then the term started being used as a slogan, even within the context of political and cultural discourse, and it often degenerated into a slanging match between people who wanted to smear others, in both directions. When it comes to Biblical doctrine, a calm and careful study of various points would probably in the eyes of others identify me with what they might dismiss as Fundamentalism. Well, I don't care; we are here to bear the Lord's reproach. But I'm not going to get into the subjective cultural no-nos that also somehow got mixed up in the whole Fundamentalist thing. Blessings.
Yeah, that's one reason I'm thinking the Byzantine manuscripts might be best.
Last time I went to church, I couldn't find my Bible and had to use of the the Bible they had under the pews. It was NIV. I was okay with that. That I normally use the KJV does give me a good opportunity to compare to the versions they use.

People just annoy me sometimes...I used to be proud of being a fundamentalist, since the actual definition doesn't mean extremism as some use the term to mean. And I still don't think it's a bad thing. But now I almost don't want to be associated with fundamentalists because of the stereotypes, which are at least partially true in some cases. I find people respond to me better when I'm not trumpeting things like that.
Hey Farouk, she's doing much better thanks. She's nearly back to 100%. Sorry I haven't been round much lately.....too much work on at the moment...even worked27 hours straight last monday-tuesday to try and keep up...God is blessing us with enough work to keep us going and the wolves from the door while school is closed for summer, so it's up to me to get the work done.
How're things with you and your family mate? I pray everything's fine fine for you.
    God Bless
