  • If you'd rather not answer the question, I don't see any reason why you need to. It's more of a personal question than anything, I guess.
Yeah. I think it's good to have discussions on these things. They're not always what people think, and it can be nice to know that there's some allowance for freedom there.
Copyright laws can be a tough subject...there are different opinions on them. IMO there are some things that are just obvious. Other aspects of it are very debatable.
My usual MO is that if I don't feel comfortable answering a question--I just ignore it. She doesn't need to know that information--it has nothing to do with the thread--so I'd just leave it alone unless you really want to answer it. Blessings to you too :)
Yeah. I'm pretty impressed by it, actually. They do have a few problems (the current pastor is leaving soon for reasons I won't get into, partly because it's none of my business and I don't know the whole situation), but it does look like they are trying to sort through them the right way, according to Scripture. By the way my old church talked, you'd think they were the only one within miles that cared about that.
Went to the evening service yesterday, and apparently they make use of both hymns and modern praise songs. Cool. :)
I am doing well, thank you! Snow melted recently and then we had a spattering of snow last night. Looks like it will be warming up this week.

Yes, I read your comment to me, and I really don't have anything further to say on that particular subject. :)
Yeah. Hymns are good, and there are some I've always liked.
As long as they don't take a legalistic stance on music, I don't mind what music is played. And I know they aren't against modern music, because they were playing some at a fall festival I attended a couple of years ago.
They sang hymns this morning. Some I haven't heard in a long time, and some I didn't even know.
They had an acoustic guitar, a piano, and I think there was a guy playing on the drums. Sounded nice.
Yeah. I'll keep that in mind. From what I've seen so far, I think it'll work for me. I don't think I need to agree on everything, and as long as they have the most important doctrines right, I'm happy.
Yeah. What they've been saying so far seems to be Scriptural. It's the same denomination as my old church (except probably Southern baptist instead of independent), so I doubt it's much different doctrinally.
Yeah. I think some of the people from my Bible study attend there. I don't really know, though. Didn't see anyone I know this morning.
I was able to wear pants to church for once. xD Not like it's a big deal, but I'm just not a fan of dresses.
Yeah. I can walk there. It takes maybe 20 minutes, at the most. I need the exercise, anyway. xD

I personally don't care what translation the church uses. I think they preach from the NKJV or NIV, but the members appear to use a variety of translations.
Yeah. I think my mom still would prefer I went to her church, but the discussion went better than I thought it would. She said some people were wondering where I was, and they were a little disappointed that I went to a church that didn't use the KJV. Well, they mean well.
I'm not sure. He probably wouldn't give them the time of day, but eh.
I actually was finally able to attend another church today. I rather like it. They had a Bible study in the morning, on the Holy Spirit. That's what I was looking for. Something where we learn from the Scripture. For the message, they had someone from the Gideons speaking.
Sadly not for The Hunger Games, but she did win one for a movie titled "Silver Linings Playbook". I did not watch the Oscer's this year, because when I saw how many awesome movies that did not even have nominations I was not happy. For some reason no matter how good a sci-fi movie is they are not eligible for winning any Oscer's and Hunger Games I believe was only nominated for one, if any.

Thanks! My concentration thankfully has been better the last few days, though I have been reading some really good books so I have been immersed in those.
I was taught by reading up on the torah that its wording doesn't allow much for cherry picking that Is why it allows for those situations where it seems it contradicts itself. ie worship was never denied if one wanted to offer it to the LORD.i don't like taking the word out of context.
Jennifer Lawrence, who is an amazing actress! The movie has a really great cast. I would highly recommend both the movies and the books, but I would recommend reading the books before seeing the movie. My mom loved the first movie but has not had time to read the books, so my sisters and I are trying to talk her into finding the time to read all the books before the next three movies come out (thankfully they are making the last book into two movies to fit it all in).

Thanks! I have been having some health problems, which has, among other things, left me feeling really drained so I have not been as talkative or interested in forums or blogging. This is normal when I am on the treatment for my Lyme though.
