  • Yup. It's my "fursona", an animal representation of myself. I have a shirt similar to that (got the stripes wrong in the picture), and I had a cross necklace like that. So basically, it reflects me in more ways than one.
Just shows that there are all kinds of traps you can fall into, even if you have good doctrine.

Yeah. Well, it's not important, and I don't think she puts much emphasis on it herself. She puts a lot of emphasis on KJVO, so naturally there is going to be the most conflict there. I think we've reached an impasse there, though, since there is nothing more to be gained through conversation. So we don't talk about it, and if it comes up, I try not to say anything.
Doctrine is probably the only thing I agree with fundamentalists on. Fundamentalism is technically supposed to only refer to doctrine, but people make it more complicated by associating fundamentalism with extremism/legalism and fundamentalists themselves seeing fundamentalism as people with fundamental doctrine and holding to legalism (independent fundamental baptist churches are typically KJV-only and believe in using traditional music or even just Psalms and probably have some sort of dress code that most other churches don't have).

    Doubt it.
Hi! That is good you and your wife pray and read daily. Me and my husband are trying to make it more of a priority. I just signed up here cause I always find myself needing Christian advise and sometimes don't want to ask my
Mother in law or friend haha. This is a great site. I just posted a thread or post in family/married and children area. Feel free to read it with your wife. I really need advise on this one :/ only one reply so far. Thanks for the add!

Oh yeah. I mentioned maybe getting my ear pierced one day, and she was like "just don't get anything else pierced." I didn't say anything. Wasn't planning to anyway, but I don't see how it'd be wrong.
Yeah, that'd be one of the main things. Although I don't think we really disagree on any actual doctrine. Things like KJV-only is an example of things she considers most important. There are others, but I can't remember them at the moment.
She's trying. Music isn't one of the major areas in her opinion, though. She tends to be more protective about other things she considers more important.
    Probably not too surprised.
She did directly buy me a Skillet album by request. Not sure if she knew what genre it was. She does now, though, and I've even shown her some of the songs. She doesn't care for it herself, which is fine.
It is a very wonderful feeling to have someone who loves you and to share Gods word with! Blessings to you and yours!
