Jesus said the kingdom of God is within you. And Paul said you are the temple and God dwells within you.
So, according to Christianities most trusted source , going to a church builing has nothing to do with individuals fellowship with God. It's just believers who like to have fellowship with one another and sing and pray together that is also a teaching, but it could be 2 people or 1000 people. Whatever. No one needs to go to church to be saved or have fellowship with God.

Some devoted followers of Christ probably go to megachurches, they just sing and have a good time then go home. You cannot genealise a church because you never know who is there. If 1000 people are crooked and one is devoted then cannot say the church is crooked because you would be calling one of Jesus diciples crooked.

I don't think anyone has suggested that one must be a regular church goer to be saved. What I'm hearing when people emphasize that it is not required what immediately comes to my mind is that maybe the emphasis is placed there in order to justify our own guilt for not taking an active part in the Holy Church of Jesus. We are essentially saying to ourselves, "Jesus can save me even if I don't regularly meet with His people so that's good enough."

Except for the guilt part that's pretty much correct. I think our biggest differences lie where it says on your profile that you are a Lutheran and I am a Methodist and Methodists for the most part aren't church crazy. The way my church is is that they love seeing you when you're there, but nobody makes a big fuss over it when you're not and nobody questions it.

never in my life have a seen a subject create such division as going to church.. i have read every type excuse and some new ones on why people dont go to church.from boring to false doctrine etc.. acts 5:42 And daily in the temple and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ. -a building save space i move to acts 11

going to church is important in fact the real problem is US .we simply go nod a agreement with the preacher /maybe amen..get nothing out of Church attendance

58 And He did not many mighty works there, because of their unbelief. ( they was not interested } there lies the problem simply not interested we want a social center instead of a worship center . guess i stirred enough up :amen

If we put our focus and emphasis on proving another wrong and proving we are right, then the division is always present.
When we seek reconciliation, we travel the road together. Any good church will walk that road with you, and even carry you or pick you up while being compassionate to the wounds incurred by the fall.
A bad church only accepts those who are standing, and those who fall were never part of the church to begin with.

who is trying to prove anything ..for some reason in this forum using attending church is like saying a cuss word in front of our mom.. facts are probably %80 of all conversions takes place in a church building .microwave generation 2 mins alter done..

Let's just get this straight out in the open here. Like it or not we're ALL guilty of trying to prove something from time to time. I even straight out admitted that I did and felt ashamed of myself for doing so.

We will seek what we are looking to find. If we seek differences, we will create division. If we seek reconciliation, we dont let our differences divide us.

You know what? You can go ahead and close this thread if you want to. I really didn't mean to cause an argument or for everybody to go around being cross with each other.
JohnDB and I pick on each other all the time, but that's just a bit different because we always know that we're just messing around and I love that little annoying git and he knows it too. :P (He might be way older than me but I still fight with him like he's my brother from another mother. :wink)

I would not say Methodist aren't church crazy. I use to go to a Methodist church years ago and they were very active and if you missed going the were very concerned. If your church is not concerned about the congregation then I think I would search out another one that is concerned.
It doesn't matter what denomination or non-denomination you go to, but it is up to you to be involved in one that you feel led to be a part of. It's called putting yourself out there. If one hides in the corner and has no interaction then how will others get to know you.
