“The Romans Road†has a disastrous fork in the road!

I thought everyone knew what "the Romans Road" was all about. IMO, most believers see it as a long detailed explanation of the hows and whys of the believer's wonderful blessings. The right fork goes to a narrow gate and a difficult way, which leads to Heaven. This refers to walking in...

“The Romans Road†has a disastrous fork in the road!

Of course, and this is the point! Man MUST co-operate with the Holy Spirit in being sanctified unto some semblance of holiness and perfection. Which is the direct opposite of sleeping one's way through life trusting in OSAS. Case closed.

This is what I found about adultery and divorce. I don't believe Paul talks about divorce re: adultery. Matt 5: 32 But I say to you that whoever divorces his wife for any reason except sexual immorality causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a woman who is divorced commits adultery...

“The Romans Road†has a disastrous fork in the road!

In the NT we have this incredible mixture of: • Blessings • Explanations • Exhortations • Warnings that the Blessings are conditional. The simple Blessings are hooks to catch the little fishes. Then Jesus Warns to first count the cost of discipleship. Paul constantly gives...

What a wonderful saint you are! ... Just keep being led by the precious Holy Spirit, which is FAR better than any intelligence, education, logic, or reasoning abilities that anyone could possibly have! May the Lord continue to bless you, and guide you into all Truth!

Yes, I've know this for about 30 years. They both said very little about it ... it's easy to check out the verses.

Specific threats to Christians about losing eternal life!

You might consider taking a course in logic. How about ... Not behaving like a Christian is evidence of not being a Christian. E.G. Have you ever behaved how a Christian should not behave?

Nope! Don't care to ... I'll just quote Scripture.

Specific threats to Christians about losing eternal life!

Sure, of course, it is. But, it doesn't stop you from abandoning the faith, walking away, running away (as some have done), rejecting it, etc. God gave you the free gift of grace-faith-salvation (Eph 2:8-9). But, it is cancelled, if you cancel your faith. It all depends if you stay in...

Specific threats to Christians about losing eternal life!

Matt 10:39 • He who loses his old sinful life for Jesus sake will find eternal life. Matt 16:24-26 • Deny (lose) your old sinful life and follow Jesus to find eternal life. Mark 11:25-26 • If you do not forgive everyone, Father God will not forgive your sins. John 12:25 • He who hates his life...

“The Romans Road†has a disastrous fork in the road!

What does this have to do with the OP? IMO, there are 2 roads presented in Romans: the road of blessings and the road of cursings. The 2 covenants are different, except for such as: blessings and cursings, obedience is required, blood covenant, etc.

I don't know ... Jesus has different rules than does Paul. The only habitual sins that I know of are listed in these 7 lists ... http://www.christianforums.net/showthread.php?t=52040 Fornicators and adulterers are on several of the 7 lists.

“The Romans Road†has a disastrous fork in the road!

I feel the above needs to be explained. Obedience to God's commands, and co-operating with God and His Plan of Salvation, are NOT to be considered as GOOD WORKS! If this is NOT being done, one is in BIG trouble ... 1 John 1:8-10 “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the...

“The Romans Road†has a disastrous fork in the road!

The right fork goes to a narrow gate and a difficult way, which leads to Heaven. The wrong fork goes to a wide gate and a broad way, which leads to Hell. Paul’s letter to the Christians in Rome is addressed to … “the called of Jesus Christ … beloved of God, called to be saintsâ€...

The 7 deadly lists of habitual sins

Sorry, but I am leaning towards ... Rom 3:25 "... He passed over the sins previously committed ..." 1 John 1:8-10 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from...

My latest attempt at connecting the dots vs. OSAS

Heb 6:4-8 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify...

My latest attempt at connecting the dots vs. OSAS

SUPER ... but, why does Paul talk about BACs falling away? And why does Paul warn against BACs falling away? Houston ... we have a problem here! Me, I can only conclude that Paul was talking about the "you"s ... who were seriously committed BACs, who were doing their best to be obedient, who...

My latest attempt at connecting the dots vs. OSAS

There are some gospel passages where "pisteuo" in used, and the people are said to have not been real believers, they followed Jesus no more, etc. But, I don't know if "pisteuo" was used in the constantive aeroist tense in these cases. Why don't you provide several impressive verses ... where...
