    Are the children necessary???

Depends very much on the age of the children and the nature of the issue. Quarreling in front of the kids, no matter the age is dicey... If it's just a matter of having a disagreement and resolving it, OK... that actually can be good because the kids see two mature adults resolving issues...

    What Am I?

Sorry Jason... I think your answer was sort of "hidden" by the last glitch in the system (before Jeff fixed things!)... Nope, not hades. He could be said to have come from the land of "Me and My Ma" :lol

    What will you NOT eat?

The word "hummus" always conjures up in my mind the idea of eating dirt... except that I think dirt might taste better.

    Is the KJV good?

Hi, GraceC, Welcome to the forum! :wave The KJV is a solid translation. Most people are more put off by the archaic language rather than any serious issues with the translation. Myself, I prefer the New American Standard bible... it's very similar to the KJV, but addresses, quite fairly...

    Writing in Bible

Gah.... I had a post all ready... well thought out, researched, edited ... and bam, the local thunderstorm knocked the power out for a couple of hours and just now came back up. Which of course, wrecked my train of thought... here's the survivor...such as it is... I think Steve paid...

On Confessing That Jesus Is Lord

Well then... As I mentioned to Deborah, the gospel is often presented in such a way that we can get the impression that only way anyone can ever be saved is to either hear about God and Jesus and have a "born again" experience or have been one of the Old Testament Jews. But, the...

    Writing in Bible

My husband inherited his brother's bible when his brother passed away. I never knew Bruce in life, but I do so enjoy reading through his bible and seeing the passages he highlighted and some of the notations he made... it's one way to truly get to know this person who was so important to my...

    Writing in Bible

...pulling out my old bible that was given to me back in 1979 and looking at how the various markers that I've used over the years has affected the paper.... Looks like #2 pencil has held up well over the years. I even have one note that I dated, April 21st, 1981 that is still clearly...

    What will you NOT eat?

I used to be OK with liver... wasn't my favorite, but I usually fixed it in a marinara sauce with bell peppers and served or rice or potatoes. Then I got pregnant. My hubby asked for liver for supper one night when I was pregnant and I took the thawed liver out of the package... and that...

On Confessing That Jesus Is Lord

I believe that looking at this text within the context is very important. I don't think we are meant to pull some verses out and run with them as if they are the end-all of truth. There are some verses that do "stand alone", John 3:16 comes to mind.... but for the most part, context, context...

    What will you NOT eat?

Won't eat peas voluntarily... I have done so on the occasion that it would be rude not to and have hated each and every little green glob of putrescence. I also will not eat pinto beans. I'll eat refried beans which are delicious but plain pinto beans, cooked with a bit of salt pork...nope...

Why am I not catching any fish???

I don't know... I've often felt the same way. I'm terrible at fishing. My brother, dad, son, all excellent fishers of fish. Me? I've only caught two or three fish in my entire life. :dunno

    Difficult wives

One thing to note about submission... it cannot be forced... it can only be voluntary. A husband might, through intimidation, manipulation, or even out right abuse, make his wife obey him. But that isn't submission. Submission comes from the heart. It can only be voluntary. Even if a wife is...

    Testimonies and Witnesses

Re: Testimonies ans Witnesses I think you are on the right track thinking that Jesus was referring to Deuteronomy when He spoke those words.
