Dad was not always right or just. He was a human with normal problems...He loved the Lord and His Word.. I am so very thankful for the Christian heritage God has blessed me with...

Day 57 51:1-16
Day 58 51:17 - 52:12

I think the whole of chapter 51 God is comforting the nation of Israel. It appears to me that they had been captives, maybe in Babylon. In the last to verses He says that He has taken His cup of wrath away from them and that He is giving to their tormentors. Babylon being conquered by Media, Persia. They would be allowed to return to their own land.
We can know that the Lord is the same now as He was then, He will comfort His people.

I think chapter 52 brings us back to the theme of Mount Zion and the redemption found in the Savior.
Isa 52:1 Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.
Isa 52:3 For thus saith the LORD, Ye have sold yourselves for nought; and ye shall be redeemed without money.
1Pe 1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
1Pe 1:19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Day 58 "Wake Up" To be sure the inhabitants of Jerusalem thought God needed to wake up, instead, God was waking them from the drunken slumber of captivity.

God turns the table, His people return to Jerusalem, their captors are now tormented.

Verse 7 introduces the Joy of God's people as they awake and return to their future blessings.

Day 59 Starts out with a terrible picture of our suffering Savior. "His appearance was so marred, beyond human semblance". (ASV) The men Who Jesus came to love and save, they stomped Him beyond comprehension!

Chapter 53 is the greatest Chapter in the whole Bible, IMO, as to what my Savior went thru for my Salvation. I am humbled greatly at what torture Jesusent thru for me. I must always remember that I am crucified with Jesus and the "old man" must die daily with Him. I must not, at any cost, let it live!

Isa 52:13 Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high.
Isa 52:14 As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:
Isa 52:15 So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.
Isa 53:1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
Isa 53:2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
Isa 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Isa 53:4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
Isa 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Isa 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Isa 53:7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
Isa 53:8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
Isa 53:9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
Isa 53:10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
Isa 53:11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
Isa 53:12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Day 60 Little did Israel know that they were to be a blessing to the whole world. Their own disobedience caused them to be a barren woman.

Now it is God's plan to enlarge His family thru Israel as the Nations come to know the God of Israel.

For a short time, God deserted His people in Babylon for chastisement.

Now God bestows the fulfillment of a mother with many children (Nations).

God assures His people of a grand & glorious future.

Isa 54:11 O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest, and not comforted, behold, I will lay thy stones with fair colours, and lay thy foundations with sapphires.
Isa 54:12 And I will make thy windows of agates, and thy gates of carbuncles, and all thy borders of pleasant stones.

Pe 2:4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
1Pe 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
1Pe 2:6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.

Isa 54:13 And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.
Joh 6:45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

Day 59 52:13-53:12
Chapter 53, it is a humbling experience just to read it.

Day 60 54:1-17
Isa 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
Mat 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Isa 55:1
Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
Mar 6:37
He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat?
Mar 6:38
He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.
Mar 6:39
And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass.

Isa 55:4
Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.
Isa 55:5
Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.

Acts chapter 2

Isa 55:10
For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

Hos 10:12
Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you

Isa 55:13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
Gen 3:18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;

Day 61 I think that Chapter 55 is one of the greatest Chapters in the Bible.

A life of absolute fulfillment is not in what money can buy. The abundant life is close fellowship with the Savior of my soul! Jesus provides all I will ever need, under the shadow of His Being.

I am always thinking, thinking, thinking. The problem with my thoughts is, they are not always righteous thoughts because in the vault of my memory, there are images of my unrighteous past. They march forth to make captive my righteous progress in Jesus. Then I remember what Paul said at the end of Romans 7, Oh wretched man that I am, who will save me from this body of death.

I also remember, my Righteous Father says, "My thoughts are not your thoughts, therefore I abandon my plans and He fills me with His Holy Spirit to accomplish His will and my every fulfillment.

His Word is my life-line. Every situation of my life, God has prepared a way in His Word which is guaranteed to come about by His promise.

I am but a helpless worm, in need of my Masters touch.

Day 62 For Israel and foreigners who respect the Sabbath, who join themselves to the Lord, will experience deliverance and revival.

Unfortunately, Israel's leaders are stuck in their old ways of complacency, and doomed to destruction.

Day 63 Verse 1b, answers the question, why did this wonderful Christian die so young? One of those answers lies here, "For the righteous man is taken away from calamity, he enters into peace".

Verse 13, When the wicked cry out to God for help, God says "Let your collection of idols deliver you. That is why it is so dangerous for a believer in Jesus to trust in some item of the world to bring joy or fulfillment. Real fulfillment comes from prayer, and trusting Jesus, our Master for all we need. Scripture says, first seek the Kingdom of God, and all these things of necessities will be provided. Oh, if we could only take this verse to heart and practice, we would be very peaceful people!

Verse 15, A contrite (deep sorrow for sin) and lowly (low esteem of one's own worth) spirit, is what makes the Heart of our Lord glad. Arrogance and pride are an abomination to our Lord!

Seeing chapter over all as a warning to the person, home, country, clear up to the church... how we strive to find justification in/of our selves...Our justification, salvation our righteousness is ALL at the Cross...

Isa 57:20 But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.

Mat 8:26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.
Mat 8:27 But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!
