Bible Study 71 Days in Isaiah

Day 46 The idols of Jacob (the people) are "nothing with works less than nothing". Only the Almighty could inspire Cyrus to be a rescuer.

Chapter 42 Introduces the Messiah as the only hope for the Nations....V.3 The Messiah won't destroy the weak, but will defend and heal.

V.9 What other can tell a person what will happen before it happens, only the Almighty God, not a dumb idol, not in mans investments to bring him wealth, (stock market?)

V.17 There is a point when God ceases to allow man from trusting in man made solutions and causes man to cast away those things and trust in Him!

Day 47 It's a tragedy that Israel can't see or hear the things of Yahweh, only what is in front of them, even today, not much has changed....As a result, they have become, as V.22 explains "they have become plunder with none to rescue".

I love Chapter 43:1-3 it is a description of a forgiving, patient, and loving God.

V.15 Declares God's identity and position. "I AM the Lord, your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your King"....In a simple way, I see "I AM" as saying I AM what ever you need.

Isa_40:3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

Isa_43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Joh_1:23 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.

the forgiveness of Lord what grace what mercy

:clap :agreed

Day 48 I see the Almighty lamenting the fact that Jacob/Israel has not offered sacrifices that satisfy, instead, sins and iniquities.

43:25 Brought me a new thought: "I, I AM He Who blots out your transgressions for My Own Sake". Normally I think that my sins are blotted out for my sake, This reminds me that sin impedes both my relationship with Jesus, and Jesus' relationship with me. It's a two way street.

I noticed in 44:6 the "I AM" again, "I AM the first, I AM the last, beside Me there is no god". What a powerful statement that our Almighty God supplies all of mans needs! There is no other source.

Vs. 6-8 Every believer, and me, in Jesus Christ should live by these verses! There is no source of mans needs outside of Yahweh, period!

Vs. 21-23 Yahweh forgives and revives Jacob/Israel, is there hope for our Country?

2Ch_7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Isa 43:22 But thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob; but thou hast been weary of me, O Israel.
Isa 43:23 Thou hast not brought me the small cattle of thy burnt offerings; neither hast thou honoured me with thy sacrifices. I have not caused thee to serve with an offering, nor wearied thee with incense.
Isa 43:24 Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices: but thou hast made me to serve with thy sins, thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities.
Isa 43:25 I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.
Isa 43:26 Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.
Isa 43:27 Thy first father hath sinned, and thy teachers have transgressed against me.
Isa 43:28 Therefore I have profaned the princes of the sanctuary, and have given Jacob to the curse, and Israel to reproaches.

Mat 23:36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.
Mat 23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
Mat 23:38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.
Mat 23:39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

I find this really cool the way the Scriptures speak to us.... one seeing nations another seeing the Church... His Word is the greatest...

over and over the forgiveness the mercy the grace time and time again...

Day 48 43:22-44:23

Isa 44:6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.
Rev 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

YLT
Isa 44:8 Fear not, nor be afraid, Have I not from that time caused thee to hear, and declared? And ye are My witnesses, Is there a God besides Me? yea, there is none, A Rock I have not known.
NASB
Do not tremble and do not be afraid;
Have I not long since announced it to you and declared it?
And you are My witnesses.
Is there any God besides Me,
Or is there any other Rock?
I know of none.’”
Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God;
Joh 1:2 this one was in the beginning with God;

Day 49 44:24 - 45:7

Isa 44:28 Who is saying of Cyrus, My shepherd, And all my delight He doth perfect, So as to say of Jerusalem, Thou art built, And of the temple, Thou art founded.

Ezr 1:1 And in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, at the completion of the word of Jehovah from the mouth of Jeremiah, hath Jehovah waked up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, and he causeth an intimation to pass over into all his kingdom, and also in writing, saying,
Ezr 1:2 `Thus said Cyrus king of Persia, All kingdoms of the earth hath Jehovah, God of the heavens, given to me, and He hath laid a charge on me to build to Him a house in Jerusalem, that is in Judah; (this would have been the second temple that was prophecyed by Daniel in the 70 wks prophecy)
Ezr 1:3 who is among you of all His people? His God is with him, and he doth go up to Jerusalem, that is in Judah, and build the house of Jehovah, God of Israel--He is God--that is in Jerusalem.

History,
Cyrus: Cyrus is said to have been the son of Cambyses, king of Persia, and Mandane, daughter of Astyages, king of Media. He was born about 600 years before Christ, and died at the age of 70, after a reign of 30 years. He was mentioned by name, and his conquests foretold, by the prophet Isaiah, about a century before his birth. Josephus states the partiality he evinced towards the Jews, arose from the circumstance of these prophecies being shown him, probably by Daniel.
quote from esword notes

Isa 44:26 That confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his messengers; that saith to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited; and to the cities of Judah, Ye shall be built, and I will raise up the decayed places thereof:

Eph 2:19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
Eph 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
Eph 2:21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
Eph 2:22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

Isa 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

this study has been so good. thank you to all of us :)

:thumbsup on the History

Day 49 I find 45:4-7 a great delight to my heart & understanding because He can control the minds of unbelievers to bring about His purpose!

The God of Israel makes Cyrus a captive for His own purpose of blessing Israel/Jacob.

V.46 Tells me that when someone other than me is holding up a blessing, my God can enter that persons mind and persuade him to bless me.

Day 50 Verse 8 is a prayer that I have for Sandy & Greg, for a Spiritual awakening in New Mexico of which Jesus will bring about thru Sandy and Greg. "Shower, O heavens, from above, and let the clouds rain down righteousness". (Revival)

I love how Yahweh presents Himself; "There is no other god beside me, a righteous God and Savior; there is none beside me".

Isa 45:20 Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save.
Php 2:1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,
Php 2:2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
Php 2:3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
Php 2:4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
Php 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

You have quoted my favorite verse in the Bible! Philippians 2:5 "Let this mind be in me (you), which was also in Christ Jesus" Oh my, Reba, if every Christian would daily strive to surrender their own mind to be crucified so that Christ's mind could take over, what a blessing every church would be, filled with these kinds of people. I must admit that my mind has a lot of "stuff" that needs to go. So what I need is for Jesus to give me a piece of His mind.:yes :dancing

Forums like these show we can have some differences and still be of one accord. We can do this We are the building blocks of the Kingdom... Getting the odd parts hammered off can be painful but is necessary so we fit so we stack up interlock and make the building sound...

Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations:

Day 51 The Almighty God will do what Jacob/Israel need. Babylons chief gods could not. (

Isaiah prophesies the utter foolishness in worshiping a man made idol which is devoid of any help.

V.10 is the litmus test for all objects of worship (idols) 9b "I AM God and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning".

I need to always remember that Yahweh will supply all my needs, not some man-made system which is a false god.

Isa 46:3 Hearken unto me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, which are borne by me from the belly, which are carried from the womb:
Rev 12:2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.

Isa 46:13 I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not tarry: and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory.
1Pe_2:6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.

Chapter 47... i see the world from the Babylonian days and every high and mighty government sense being struck down by God... O Lord...

2Ch_7:13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;
2Ch_7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Lord Lord heal our lands

Amen!!

Day 52 V.1 Babylon is pictured as a self-indulgent young girl, tender and delicate.

The Holy One of Israel Who used Babylon to punish His chosen people, now face the same or worse punishment from the Almighty.

Disaster from Israel's God will send destruction upon Babylon and their gods and V.9 in spite of their many sorceries and enchantments, they cannot reverse the great punishment of the real God!

In the end, there is no one to save the Babylonians according to V.15.

An interesting side note; Babylon steals God's Name, I AM thinking that like the God of Israel, that there is no-one else like them. (V.8)
