A commentary on the Book of Revelation - Part 1

Hi for_his_glory. Thank for getting back to me on this. As I was taking a break from a previous forum, my views are rather different from there and no one agrees with my position...lol. So yeah, its not really from wanting to win an argument from my side either. And actually I am glad that Rodger agrees with your view over mine because this forum has a history far before my arriving and sharing some perspectives. My motive is generally to help consider other perspectives as potential considerations. Actually on the other forum I recently started going back there and it amazes me how we are still all friends because the level of discousion there is kind of wild west like. So I'm very blessed by His glory shinning through you in having engaged at length with me dear sister. Beyond any side of any argument, that speaks to your great character and love depth in our dear savior. And extremely hospitable toward me. Thank you so much, truly. Blessings.
It's been my pleasure talking to you sharing with each other as it's all about the love we have for one another, even if we disagree at times. God bless you and yours :)

Actually.....I for one agree with you.

MY only concern is that we do not go off rabbit holes on a thread not designed for such a trip.

On forums, we need to stay focused on the intent of the originator.
When it comes to forums there is no room for the "I am right, you are wrong" types of conversations as everyone is on a different level of learning by how they allow themselves to be taught. All we can do is present our understandings with giving scriptures and let it up to each one to find truth for themselves.

I agree 100% but we need to make sure we stay focused on the Scriptures in question and not to go off on personal tangents.

Do you feel I was going off on a personal tangent?
Lets to this. Go back and read post #205 through about #230 or so.

Now, do you think that those posts have anything to do with the Scripture that was posted for consideration or is it a trip down a rabbit hole that has nothing to do with the 2nd chapter of the Revelation?

Revelation 3:14-19......
"And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write,

‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: 15 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. 17 Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked—18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent."

The final church is a LAODICA. This will be the church that remains AFTER the Rapture.

You mean that there will be people going to church after the Rapture. YES!!!

The world will flood to the Churches all over the world after the Rapture. They will be seeking answers as to what happened to their friends and loved ones. Because those loved ones have told them that they found peace with God......that is where they think that they will find answers.

It is MY opinion that by that time, the Anti-Christ may even instruct all people to attend church as "he" will be the one to help them through this time of loss.

This will be a "religious" but totally rejecting church. They will not be hot or cold but sit on the fence and wee which way the wind blows.
You I think see that in your church today.

They want one foot in the church and the other one in the world. The result is that they are a failure in both areas. Personally, I think that is why some people wander away from the church and show up from time to time. They are not comfortable in the world because the Holy Spirit will not leave them alone and convicts them. Then they are not comfortable in the church because they know that they are hypocrites.

You see, God is an extremist!

We either serve God or the devil and there is actually no middle ground. That is 100% Bible doctrine because the Bible says that you are either SAVED or you are LOST. There is no such thing as almost saved.

Matthew 12:30 [Jesus said]
“Whoever is not with me is against me…”!

The "agnostic" for example, or the "Sincerely Religious" says that he or she “doesn’t know” if there is a God. On the surface that sounds like the person is being candid and honest. But the reality of Jesus as the Son of God has been clearly revealed to this world by the Scriptures, by the very creation, by the Holy Spirit speaking to our hearts, and by His historical life on this earth 20 centuries ago.

Jesus did not define 3 kinds of people — with Him, against Him, or somewhere in between — but just two. He said every living person is either with Him or is against Him.

Matthew 12:30 [Jesus said]
“…whoever does not gather with me scatters.”

John 3:16, 36
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever
believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them."

Matthew 25:31-34, 41
“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. “Then the King will say to those on his right [
‘the sheep,’ the saved], ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world… [41] “Then he will say to those on his left [‘the goats,’ the lost], ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.”

In these verses Jesus speaks of His future Second Coming. All those who have ever lived on earth will be assembled before Him and categorized as either "sheep" (the saved) or "goats" (the lost).

Each category has its proper destination. The saved (“sheep”) will rejoice as Jesus tells them, “Come, you who are blessed … take your inheritance, the kingdom.” By contrast, His word to the lost (“goats”) is, Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire…”

2 Thessalonians 1:7-10, NKJV [God will] give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe

These verses specifically identify two groups who will be alive on earth at the 2nd Coming of Christ— again, the saved and the lost. This verse precisely differentiates their destinies.

Those who are saved, the ones who chose to live their lives “with” Jesus, at His coming are said “to be glorified in His saints and…admired among all those who believe.” As we read in our previous verse, they are confirmed as eternally blessed residents of their “inheritance,” the kingdom of God.

On the other hand we see the terrible plight of the unsaved, those who are against Jesus and did not in their lives “obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.” They will see “the Lord Jesus revealed from heaven … in flaming fire taking vengeance” on all who have rejected Him. They will be “punished with everlasting destruction,” being ultimately consigned for all eternity to “the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:15).

Verse #16 = TOTAL REJECTION of those who SAID they knew Him, but lived a life that showed the opposite. Remember, Jesus is addressing a "church".
