For the way life evolved, mostly. If we're talking about abiogenesis, than there isn't a firm opinion on that. However, I know what the normal religious reply is. "It is more logical [then] to have a creator create it all". However, what is usually overlooked is that "magic" isn't scientific and is actually a copout, . . . limiting man by stagnating him in a "belief because 'we can't think of any other way it could have happened', thus the need for magical intervention".

A search on theoretical abiogenesis may be worth looking in to.
