James Town was a failure. It was just the first majore settlement. James Town was abandoned with colonists either returning to England or getting absorbed into other settlements that popped up.

That one was worse. Yeah, Roanoke and James Town are notable for being some of the first, but we're failures long term. It wasn't until we started getting actual agricultural workers here that we got successful colonies.
