Absolutely Useless Trivia...

Ah, but Edward, if you toss a rock into a body of water, it sinks. Therefore, it is drowned. No more sunshine & vitamin D for that rock.

But hey, if that rock rolls ... you might ask more Billboard-related questions !

(hint hint)

Ok. If you throw a red stone into the blue sea what it will become?

It will become wet. (ducks) :help

Here's some odd ones for you.

How does Heavy Metal Music affect Termites?

A). Makes them STOP eating wood.
B). Makes them eat wood twice as fast.
C). Has no effect.

Just a guess ..... but I'd say "B" .... makes them frenetic & they eat wood faster

Heavy Metal or just super loud rockin' music will chase away moles/voles when a transistor radio is put into one of their trails

Absolutely right!

In 1964, The Animals had a number one hit, House of the Rising Sun. It took an unusual amount of time and takes to record in the studio. They were pleased with the success of it, irregardless of time. The time it took them to get it recorded good enough to satisfy them for release was...?

A). 6 1/2 weeks
B). 15 minutes
C). Over 2 1/2 years

Extra points if you know why.

That would be "B", Edward. They recorded it in one take .... but of course, they had been playing it for a while

Still a classic song today!

Geez, you're the music master! Indeed, they did it in one take in 15 minutes because they were on a tight budget. (I like the song too!)

What famous singer songwriter was Billy Crystals babysitter when he was a child?

Uhm, that would have to be Billie Holiday, Edward. Final answer.

Who had the most number 1 hits in America ever!?

Uhm, that would have to be Billie Holiday, @Edward . Final answer.

(shakes head in awe) No wonder you wanted music trivia for you are the master! Since you are so good, I'm going to give you two this time to save band width.

Who was Janis Joplin's Musical idol & inspiration?

What song was known as the best song that Aretha Franklin didn't record?

Tough questions, Edward.

Janis Joplin: She claimed many musical inspirations over her brief career. People like Bessie Smith, Odetta, Leadbelly, Billie Holiday ... even Kris Kristofferson (while they were dating) who wrote "Me & Bobby McGee" for her. So it's rather difficult to name just one.

Aretha Franklin: Again, there were quite the few songs Aretha turned down to record. One in particular, which she later did record but it didn't become a hit for her: "Son of a Preacher Man." (That song became a big hit for Dusty Springfield in late 1968/1969.)

Oh, did I fail to mention that radio is in my background????

No, you didn't mention that, but it would explain your adeptness at radio trivia!

Ok, I have stumped you! I feel a certain sense of satisfaction in this! LOL. You were getting them ALL right and that was blowing my mind!! Ok, so you really are human and not a super computer somewhere, lol. :toofunny

The answers are:

Etta James was Janis's idol! Not even in your list! wow. (I never knew she dated Kris Kristofferson!)

The greatest song never recorded by Aretha Franklin was by Fontella Bass and is called "Rescue me." For a lonnng time I heard this song on the radio and thought it was Aretha singing! Great song, here for your enjoyment:

Uhh, it was The New Yardbirds, and was Scandinavia I thought?

Robert Plant's young son tragically died of a respiratory virus in 1977.

What was his name, and what song did Robert Plant dedicate to his son afterwards?

Robert Plant's son's name was Karac Pendragon Plant ... he was named after "Caratacus" of history

There were two particular songs he dedicated to his son afterwards: "I Believe," which is a beautiful song, and "All My Love," also enduring. A third song, "Blue Train," usually had reference to Plant's son at concerts.

Some believe that "Stairway to Heaven" was the dedication song to Karac, but it wasn't.

You know more than I do, you're teaching me here! I knew his name was Karac, but not Pendragon, nor Cartacus.
I knew All Of My Love, but not the others. :) Thank you, and you were absolutely correct.

Jimi Hendrix is touted as the best guitar player of all time. But when he was asked how does it feel to be the best guitarist of time, he humbly replied, "I don't know, you'll have to ask ______________? :)
Who did Jimi think the greatest guitarist was /is?

What is Robert Plants daughters name?

Grief, Edward ... Jimi Hendrix quote? You're making me stretch my brain ...and my brain doesn't wanna be stretched!

Jimi Hendrix, one of many listed as 'idol' of Janis Joplin, said: "I don't know, you'll have to as Rory Gallagher."

Robert Plant has one daughter named Carmen Jane Plant, and is now married.
