Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?

Baptism is preparation for the exalted and crooked, to be made straight, made low, and the rough places to be made plain.

That was the glory of the Lord revealed, and that was all flesh seeing it.

John cried in the wilderness, and what did he cry ? All flesh is grass, and the grass whithers and fades, because the Spirit of the Lord blows upon it. But the Word of our God stands for ever.

Isaiah 40:3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:
5 And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

Isaiah 40:6 The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:
7 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the Lord bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.
8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

The Son of God had His messenger sent before Him, to prepare the way of the Lord, to make His paths straight. John baptized in the wilderness and preached the baptism for the remission of sins.

John said he had indeed baptized the people with water, ( and preached the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.) but that He that comes after him shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

Then it came to pass that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan, and coming out of the water, straightaway Jesus saw the Heavens opened to Him, and the Spirit as a dove descending upon Him, and a voice came from Heaven ( now the Heavens were opened to Him.) saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

John had forbid Jesus to be baptized of him, but Jesus said to John to suffer it for now, because it is required of John and Jesus to fulfill all righteousness, then John suffered Jesus to receive the baptism of John. ( then the Heavens were opened and the Spirit descended like a dove upon Jesus.) Then there came a voice from Heaven from the Father, well pleased i/n His beloved Son.

Mark 1:1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;
2 As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

Mark 1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.
9 And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.
10 And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:
11 And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Matthew 3:15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.
16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

John then truly baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people that they should believe on Him which would come after him, that is on Christ Jesus.

When they heard this ( had believed this) to be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus, then the Holy Ghost came upon them.

Acts 19:3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

(The word of peace preached by Jesus Christ) that word the people knew, which began from Galilee after the baptism which John preached, God anointing Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power.

( the Apostles of the Lord were witnesses of all the Lord then did) and the people of the land of the Jews slew the Anointed Jesus Christ and hanged Him on the tree( the cross) and God raised Him up the third day showing Him openly to the same witnesses ( who did drink of the same cup He drank of after He was risen and were baptized of the same Anointed baptism of the Holy Ghost that Christ was baptized with.)

The Apostles of the Lord then preached Christ that He was the Ordained of God to be the judge of the quick and the dead, and how all the prophets witness, that through His name who believes in Him shall receive remission of sins. ( as John preached the baptism for the remission of sins, saying to believe on Him that should come after Him, that is on Jesus Christ.)

The Holy Ghost fell on all those who heard the Word.

John 10:37 That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;
38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

Acts 10:39 And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:
40 Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;
41 Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.
42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.
43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

To be able to drink of the cup that Christ drank of, and to be baptized with the baptism that He was baptized of.

There is one cup, and there is one baptism. ( it is the same cup of the Lord, and the same baptism He was baptized of.)

Matthew 20:22 But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.
23 And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.

Ephesians 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

The baptism of Christ involved His humility, of humbling Himself for a man to baptize Him. ( this saw Heaven opened and the Father being well pleased in the Son.)

Next the cup, that Jesus had to drink. ( we have to be baptized with the same baptism of Jesus, and to drink from His same cup.)

Jesus prayed for the cup to pass from Him ( it is a painful cup.) Jesus is baptized in water and of the Holy Ghost( His flesh is strong.) and Jesus accepted the cup that could not pass from Him, and drank it fulfilling the Fathers will. ( we drink of the same cup after we receive the same baptism, or our flesh will be weak and we then enter into temptation.)

Matthew 26:39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?
41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
42 He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

Remembering it is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one cup of the Lord.

It is the one faith of the operation of God who raised our Lord from the dead( that cup that he drank of after that baptism that He was baptized of.) and through that same cup and same baptism we also are risen with Christ. ( believing that God raised Christ our Lord from the dead.) believing in a good conscience of the resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour, ( remember after baptism He saw the Heavens opened.) , then we believe ( through the same cup and same baptism) that Jesus then is gone into Heaven, and is on the right hand of God all was made subject unto Him.

Colossians 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

1 Peter 3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.

Not only the vipers deny Christ, but they think they can even get in the way.

So the vipers are around, expecting they can be baptized and talk about these same things of God, but the answer back to them is very good and straight, every tree ( the vipers tree) that does not bring forth good fruit, will be cut down and cast into the fire. ( their constant denial and opposition shows the way they are headed for, quickly.)

Matthew 3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

John then truly baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people that they should believe on Him which would come after him, that is on Christ Jesus.

When they heard this ( had believed this) to be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus, then the Holy Ghost came upon them.
Johns baptism (in water) has no effect for us today. It is obsolete.
Were these people baptized in water? Yes or no?
The HG did not “come upon them” at the point they heard the preaching of Paul. The text tells us when this happened. When Paul laid his hands on them. This was nothing like Cornelius in Acts 10.
Acts 10:39 And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:
40 Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;
Why did you stop at vs 44? Was Cornelius baptized in water? Yes or no?
To be able to drink of the cup that Christ drank of, and to be baptized with the baptism that He was baptized of.

There is one cup, and there is one baptism. ( it is the same cup of the Lord, and the same baptism He was baptized of.)
OK. Well Christ was baptized in water. arent you saying that we now are baptized, not with water, but with the spirit?
Matthew 20:22 But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.
23 And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.
I believe this context is with the 12 apostles. The “baptism that I am baptized with” that he promised to the apostles is a baptism of suffering. He is telling these individuals that they too will go through persecution as he was about to endure. History, i believe, confirms this happened. The point Im making is that these comments were not made to all people. This was made just directly to the apostles. This is not a promise for us today.
Ephesians 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
Has to be water. Its the one Jesus commanded and the one that continues today. If not then we have 2 baptisms in effect and Paul when he wrote this didnt know what he was talking about.
Remembering it is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one cup of the Lord.
Again…the one baptism is in water. If not then we have a problem.
The one faith is referring to the gospel message that was to be preached. Its the faith that we are to contend for. Ju 3
This is not a persons individual faith or belief in Jesus.
Colossians 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
This is water. He describes it just like in Rom 6. It is a burial and a resurrection. Spirit baptism looks nothing like this.
This is water baptism. The entire context is about water. Not hard to understand this one. I cant believe the links people go to in order to get water out of this passage. I know it just hurts everyone of you to have to deal and explain away such a clear passage and that there is no passage ANYWHERE in the NT that says….faith alone doth also now save you. That has to haunt all of you.

Everything in the testimony of Christ has effect for us today. Nothing is obsolete, even though somebody says it is.

Paul laying his hands on people, can first be understood in Acts 8. Samaria had received the word of God (the preaching of Jesus Christ, who John the baptist said to believe in, who came after him.) and they were baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. ( as yet the Holy Ghost was given through the Apostles of the Lord.) and the Apostles prayed for them to receive the Holy Ghost, and laid their hands on them, and Simon( who was a sorcerer) wanted that gift God had given to the Apostles for the work of the ministry of God.

Acts 19 records similar, how the people were baptized unto Johns baptism, and testified to them how they should know Johns words, to believe in Him that came after John. Ten they were baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then ( according to the gift God had given to the Apostles only for the work of the ministry of Christ.)) Apostle Paul layed his hands on them, and God granted them the Holy Ghost.( through them believing in the right way when they heard it from the Apostles, in both occasions in Acts.)

Acts 8:14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,

Water is not forbidden, Jesus fulfilled His Anointing in water, to fulfil all righteousness, as John had his ministry to baptize with water, so Jesus received that from him.

Acts 10:47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

The cup of Jesus which He drank from, and the baptism which He was baptized with. ( suffering/Holy Ghost/power.) why are other believers unable to drink of, unable to be baptized with, unable to be baptized with the Holy Ghost, unable to be Anointed with power to go through a life of the sufferings of Christ ?

"Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?"

No reason dictates a different cup and baptism for the Apostles and not the same to every other believer in Christ, apart from unbelief. The cup Jesus drank from, all drank from, and Jesus showed He would not drink with them again, until that day He drank it new with them in His Fathers Kingdom. ( all drank of that cup as it is the cup of the New Testament in Jesus' blood, which through belief in His blood shed for us gives us the Holy Ghost baptism.)

Matthew 26:27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.

This testimony now continues in 1 Corinthians 10, ( Gods word is more accurate than somebody who wants to replace it with his own reasoning.)

All Hebrews passed through the sea, which is all Hebrews baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea. ( baptism by water is testified for its importance which is how man escaped captivity by God giving them a way in the sea.)

All again it is witnessed, ate the same spiritual meat, and all it is testified again, drank the same spiritual drink. ( the cup of the Lord after baptism in the cloud and in the sea.)

But after that cup and baptism, God was not well pleased with them( remember the Father said after Jesus had His humbling water baptism He was well pleased of the Son.) and the Hebrews unlike the Son of God, were overthrown, and made as examples, to not lust after evil things as they lusted and were destroyed.

1 Corinthians 10 then states how we cannot do that way of the Hebrews overthrown in the wilderness, after they were ALL BAPTIZED in the cloud and in the sea, because we CANNOT DRINK THE CUP OF THE LORD, AND THE CUP OF DEVILS.

1 Corinthians 10:1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

1 Corinthians 10:5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

1 Corinthians 10:21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.

Now the same applies to ALL, if anyone drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily( as example of the Hebrews overthrown in the wilderness, after they ALL DRANK OF THAT SPIRITUAL ROCK THAT FOLLOWED THEM, WHICH ROCK WAS CHRIST, and they had ALL been baptized in the cloud and in the sea.)

1 Corinthians 11:25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.
27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

Baptism saves the ones who believe in the good, ( the good tree planting of the Lord believes in the good of Jesus rising from the dead) and the evil tree, ( seed sown by satan) believes in evil, and shows death in their words instead of life.

Those who believe to the saving of the soul, believe to others, to also have their soul saved, and they also believe all the good Jesus did on earth to care for us in every way too. ( to do and show they believe likewise)

All can be told by our fruits, thorns and briars are not gathered, only to be burned.

Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, or the hand texts, if it had any goodness in it, the deceiver evil seeds would not fill the forums giving their fruit with worms in it, with no good, full of toxins and artificial goodness, which they offer non stop,. and for so many years constantly on their forums, not being seen, so it is already in darkness, and if light comes onto the forum, it is seen as unwelcome right away, until it goes its own way.

The preaching of the cross, includes the preaching of the baptism of John( it is where Jesus began being Anointed of God.) Jesus was Anointed with the Holy Ghost and with power, none of it is obsolete or foolish, all of the testimony of Christ is wisdom and all is the power of God.

1 Corinthians 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Being baptized in any what whatsoever, is done if someone has faith.

If the preaching of Jesus Christ does not have the revelation of Jesus Christ by the Spirit of Christ, then baptism wont mean anything, for anyone, neither if they know all the scriptures in the world, such as being baptized into the death of Christ etc.

The Apostles made it clear, the people are required to BELIEVE WITH ALL OF THEIR HEART.

That is the heart that BELIEVES UNTO RIGHTEOUSNESS, that believes Jesus was risen from the dead.

But the eye has NOT SEEN, the ear has, NOT HEARD, neither have entered into THE HEART THE THINGS OF GOD ( BELIEVING WITH ALL YOUR HEART IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST THAT HE IS THE SON OF GOD WHO GOD RAISED FROM THE DEAD.)

All is REVEALED THROUGH THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST, so no matter how much people are EVER LEARNING, they can NEVER COME TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH. ( it is the HIDDEN WISDOM OF GOD IN THE MYSTERY OF THE SPIRIT.)

Acts 8:35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

2 Timothy 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Everything in the testimony of Christ has effect for us today. Nothing is obsolete, even though somebody says it is.
Matt 10 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.
This was spoken by Jesus but is not for you or me and has no effect for us today either. This was given to the 12 who ultimately were divinely inspired. We are not. I know many claim to be but they cannot demonstrate anything. There are many things spoken in the NT that were not spoken for all. This is why we are told to “rightly divide the word of truth”. When you dont properly do this all kinds of problems arise.
Jesus spoke this….
Mk 16:17-19 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
This is not for you and me today. This was spoken for those in the first century that were given miraculous gifts. This is not given out today. I know many today claim things but agin, they cant demonstrate ANYTHING!

Those in Samaria were taught Jesus properly. They were not taught Johns gospel. If so, prove it. Philip preached jesus to both those in Samaria and the Eunuch. He did not preach “Johns gospel”. All of those in Samaria, Simon, and the Eunuch all….heard, believed and were baptized. Exactly what the Lord said one should do for salvation. Mk 16:16 Coincidence? Nah! They sure didnt “believe” only and then pray and then receive the Spirit directly from Jesus which is what just about everybody on here says takes place even though it is nowhere found. The text specifically tells us they had not received the Spirit after baptism. This is Bible commentary explaining to us that the Spirit DOES NOT fall on one for salvation. The Spirit with the Eunuch sends Philip to preach. The Spirit never directly worked on the Eunuch for salvation.
You are correct. The Ephesians had not been taught correctly. They had obeyed Johns gospel. How do we know this? The text tells us! So,why did you add to the text in Acts 8 something that is not there? If it is then show me.
Acts 8 and 19 are not the same. Did Peter baptize those in acts 8 again when he arrived? No, because they didnt need it. They had been taught correctly. Did Paul baptize the Ephesians again? Yes. Because they had been taught incorrectly. This is what everybody should learn from this.
YOU CANT BE TAUGHT WRONG AND END UP RIGHT!

These are totally different scenarios as I explained above. The Bible tells us not to add or take away anything from his word so why are you adding something to acts 8 that isnt there? Where did you get your information?

Of course all applies for all, and for always.

When God wants anyone to be a testimony for Him, then the Anointing in man teaches us all things( not we that speak, or pray, but the Spirit of the Son of God in us.)

1 John 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

John the baptist said that men should believe on Jesus, to come after him, and John preached the Gospel of repentance for the remission of sins.

Part of the Gospel of Christ( it is in the Gospels and is here the very first words in Mark) is the baptism that John did on Christ. That preaching was spoken to those of Samaria and they believed the whole Gospel of Christ, including how Christ was Anointed of God of the Holy Ghost and had received baptism also through water.

Apostle Paul had preached to the people who had only been baptized with water ( not with knowledge of the Kingdom of God) and then they believed and received the Holy Ghost.

Mark 1:4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

Mark 1:7 And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.
8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

Acts 19:4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

Acts 19:8 And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.

Believing to be saved, is to believe we drink the same cup of the Lord, and the same baptism, there is no other baptism, as there is one Lord, one faith and one baptism. Jesus Christ also is the way and the truth and the life, and there is no other.

Water is not forbidden, Jesus fulfilled His Anointing in water, to fulfil all righteousness, as John had his ministry to baptize with water, so Jesus received that from him.
Water is not “forbidden”. It is commanded!
Acts 10:47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
Why didnt you post the next verse where water is “commanded”. Can a person be saved not having obeyed the commandments of the Lord?
This testimony now continues in 1 Corinthians 10, ( Gods word is more accurate than somebody who wants to replace it with his own reasoning.)
Amen! So why did you, through your own reasoning, say that those in acts 8 were taught Johns gospel? The text doesn’t say it at all so you had to add to the text in order to get it.
All Hebrews passed through the sea, which is all Hebrews baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea. ( baptism by water is testified for its importance which is how man escaped captivity by God giving them a way in the sea.)
Were the Israelites saved before or after they went through the water?
1 Corinthians 10:1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;

I dont really know what you are trying to say with all of this but the lesson for us is…..We too can be obedient to the Lord just as the Hebrews were and then through unbelief (disobedience) can be lost just as those who murmured and worshipped idols in the wilderness.
1 Corinthians 10:21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.
Paul here is saying….we cant worship God and the world. Its one or the other.
I believe Paul here is explaining that the Israelites of old were saved by Jesus just as all men are. When Christ died his blood flowed forward and backward. Those in the OT who were obedient to God, like Joshua and Caleb for example, were ultimately saved by the blood of Jesus. This is why the text says….”they ALL drank of that spiritual rock”. This shows the power that is in the blood and the planning and foreknowledge of God.
This is Paul explaining what is taking place when the church comes together to partake in the Lords supper. Please try to keep things in context.

Also, nobody believes in righteousness in their heart, that Jesus was risen from the dead, unless they also believe that Jesus fulfilled all righteousness, through His baptism in WATER.

ALSO WE ARE TO seek the Kingdom of God AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS( you wont be baptized or receive any Holy Ghost without it)

Matthew 3:15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Jesus Christ came ( was baptized) by water also, no amount of denying the importance of water, will achieve anything, it only achieves fulfillment of the antichrist denial as foretold..

1 John 5:6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

1 John 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

John the baptist said that men should believe on Jesus, to come after him, and John preached the Gospel of repentance for the remission of sins.
Yes and this is “Johns gospel”. This is not the great commission that Jesus commanded before he ascended.
Part of the Gospel of Christ( it is in the Gospels and is here the very first words in Mark) is the baptism that John did on Christ.
This again is “Johns gospel“. These people were to come “confessions their sins”. Mk 1:5 The great commission of the gospel of Christ does not command us to “confess our sins” it commands us to confess with the mouth ”Jesus”.

Johns gospel was NOT preached to those in Samaria. If so then show me. The text says this….
Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.
Preached Christ!
Acts 8:12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
These people were taught the “kingdom of God”. You claim those in Ephesus were NOT taught the “kingdom of God”. This should at least prove to you that the accounts are not the same. You are adding things to the text that are not there.

Yes. So what. The lesson is this…
You cant be taught wrong and end up right?

Believing to be saved, is to believe we drink the same cup of the Lord, and the same baptism, there is no other baptism, as there is one Lord, one faith and one baptism. Jesus Christ also is the way and the truth and the life, and there is no other.
Paul said that in the letter to the Ephesians who were baptized in water twice. So I hope you dont think that Paul would baptize these people a second time, in water, and then go tell them that some other baptism is the “one baptism”? That would not make a lot of sense and would be contradictory.

Acts 8, records the Apostles praying for the people, to receive the Spirit, because the Spirit is gifted by God and is not received, unless revealed by God.

God had sent the Apostles to pray, and be part of that revelation, and until then, the people had believed without the Spirit, and were baptized the same way ( without the Spirit) in only the name of the Lord Jesus. In Acts 18, when anyone knew only the baptism of John, through grace were given more perfect understanding( through the Spirit of Christ)

Acts 8:12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

Acts 8:16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

Acts 18:25 This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.
26 And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.
27 And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace:

The Hebrews were saved by the water always being next to Egypt, where they would be saved from by God, the water is the crucial part of God judging the Egyptians being drowned in the water..

Exodus 9:16 And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to shew in thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth.

Israel drank of the same spiritual drink and were baptized with the same baptism ( by water)

OURS IS THE SAME, THERE IS no other.

1 Corinthians 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

Matthew 20:22 But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.

Ephesians 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

There is one cup and one baptism, not two. ( that is why we saw when they were baptized wrong, only to Johns baptism, they received no Holy Spirit)

1 Corinthians 10:21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.

Ephesians 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

Acts 8, records the Apostles praying for the people, to receive the Spirit, because the Spirit is gifted by God and is not received, unless revealed by God.

God had sent the Apostles to pray, and be part of that revelation, and until then, the people had believed without the Spirit, and were baptized the same way ( without the Spirit) in only the name of the Lord Jesus. In Acts 18, when anyone knew only the baptism of John, through grace were given more perfect understanding( through the Spirit of Christ)
Again….what does the text say? The people in Samaria DID NOT receive the Spirit through prayer. The text says…
Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
When did those in Samaria receive the Spirit? AFTER an apostle laid his hands on them And NOT before.

The Spirit falls on NO ONE for salvation. This text is Bible commentary of this fact. There is not one example of that happening anywhere in the NT.
Yes he was deficient in his knowledge. Can one be taught wrong and end up right? Not according to the Bible. The great thing about Apollos was….when he was pulled aside and “taught the way more accurately” he didnt condemn Acquila and Priscilla for showing him truth like many do on “christian” forums. Apollos didnt put Acquila on ignore just because he told Apollos he was wrong.
