Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?

"This is Paul explaining what is taking place when the church comes together to partake in the Lords supper. Please try to keep things in context."

There is one cup of the Lord and one of the devil, you cant have a different cup without it being the devils cup. ( that is being a partaker of the Lords table)
Is Paul describing the Lords supper in 1 Cor 11 or not? Why was he doing it? The text tells us that these people were not doing it correctly and he was setting them straight. This Is the lesson for us.

"The Israelites “believed” in God. You think these people that witnessed the ten plagues, the parting the Red Sea, the manna, the quail, the fire by night. You think these people didnt know who God was? You think these people didnt believe in God and who he was? That is an impossibility! These people are examples to us in that we too can “believe” in Jesus or in God just as they did, but they didnt have “faith” in that they didnt believe in the words that God had spoken to them. The promises that he had made to them. They were disobedient.."

The Lord saved the people out of Egypt, yet they never believed in Him, they never had faith.

Hebrews 4:2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

Jude 1:5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

It did not matter if the people witnessed the rd sea parting miracles, the same occured again when the people of Israel saw the Sons miracles, but nobody was able to believe the report, as their hearts were hardened
Exactly and how does Jesus describe this?
Mat 21 And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things. The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him?
To “believe” in the Bible is to obey. Jn 3:36.
These people would not obey the word of the Lord. Seems pretty similar doesn’t it? Jesus has told us….salvation occurs AFTER baptism and sins are removed AFTER baptism but you and most others dont “believe” him in that you teach and practice just the opposite. This whole conversation of ours is very ironic.
Deuteronomy 29:2 And Moses called unto all Israel, and said unto them, Ye have seen all that the Lord did before your eyes in the land of Egypt unto Pharaoh, and unto all his servants, and unto all his land;
3 The great temptations which thine eyes have seen, the signs, and those great miracles:
4 Yet the Lord hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.
If you keep reading I think what’s being said here is that.…God made all these promises and demonstrated all of these miracles but after all these years (he made them wait 40 years) the nation is just now witnessing the completion of the promises. He kept all of this away from them and kept them through his miracles and signs for 40 years. They were fed through the miraculous they received water through the miraculous. Their clothes didnt wear out. Now its all coming to pass as they enter the land they had been promised.
John 12:37 But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:
38 That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?
39 Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,
40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.
Vs 42 says that many did believe but they wouldnt confess him.
God hardened peoples heart in the past (like pharaoh) just as he does today. Through his word. People do not like nor believe in what the Lord says and they turn away from it. Do they “believe” in God or in Jesus? yes but they dont do what he says. They like the idea of Jesus but when it comes to his word they can do without that.
For example….
God says….he that believes and is baptized shall be saved..
Then you have people like David Jeremiah telling everyone that you cant add baptism to salvation. If you do you are a
”legalist”. His heart has been hardened so that he cannot even believe the truth.

"God says….he that believes and is baptized shall be saved. Salvation clearly occurs after baptism.
God says…water baptism is for the remission of sins.
But you say that one is saved at the point of belief. You say that sins are remitted at the point of belief.
You do not believe in the words and promises God has made so therefore you are in a state of unbelief.
This is how they are examples to us."

Israel is the example of not having God revealed to them.

Nobody can be baptized without believing with all of their heart, and God has not let it enter into the hearts of men the things God has prepared for those who love Him.

1 Corinthians 2:9
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Acts 8:37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

Romans 10:6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)
7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)

Romans 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Of course the heart needs to be involved.

The cup and baptism to the 12 Apostles, is not a different one for anyone else, nor is it a different cup to that of the Lords blood, shed for us. The baptism is one, and the cup is from that one Lord and one Spirit and one faith of Jesus Christ.

The antichrist spirit denies Christ in the flesh and cannot acknowledge the baptism of Jesus to fulfil all righteousness in water from John the Baptist.

1 John 5:6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
I have no idea what you are saying here. The apostles were given a commission that is different and separate from everybody else. Are you inspired? No. Can you lay hands and give the gift of the Spirit? No. Did Jesus send the Spirit unto you to have miraculous memory? No.

Who did Jesus “shed” his blood for? The Bible is pretty clear on this.

The lessons learned ?

We do have to both believe in the same cup and same baptism, and also we do have to know that it is the Spirit that gives that understanding and belief, otherwise we have nothing.
How does the Spirit do this? Its not directly. We’ve proven that through the examples in the NT. He does it through the word. How did the Spirit give the Eunuch understanding? Through the teaching of the word. He didnt do it directly or miraculously.
We are able to drink of the same cup and be baptized with the same baptism Christ was baptized of, and the prayer is that God gives the Spirit in the revelation in the knowledge of Him
Otherwise we cannot even acknowledge this, as acknowledging of the truth is after godliness which leads to salvation..
You keep saying this but again you are taking what he said out of context. He was specifically talking about his suffering that he would have to endure. This is the “baptism that I am baptized with”. He is NOT talking about his water baptism from John.
Titus 1:1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;

Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
the word “unto” is a forward looking word. It means believe is unto or looking toward righteousness. Confession is made looking toward salvation. It is NOT saying a person is “saved” at the point of belief or at the point of confession.

The Spirit reveals the deep secret things of God, without it, it is plain to see who has no understanding at all in what is right.
How does the Spirit reveal this? He has done it through the word he has given to us. He does not come upon a person directly and miraculously to “reveal the things of God”. This kind of teaching is why we have hundreds of denominations

God can give the Spirit without the laying on of hands, others did receive the Spirit by hearing the word, and then were baptized, there is nothing to dispute.

The lesson remains that you consider the cup of the Lord that He drank from, and the baptism that the Apostles had the same as Christ, is not for anyone else, and that's nonsense, unless you think you can show more than one cup and more than one baptism.

The people of Israel did not believe in Jesus because belief does not come by signs, or by healing, or by water, or anything else, apart from belief in the Lord Jesus rising, and part of that belief is Jesus being righteous to receive water baptism. Nothing is ironic, and it is not even a discussion.

That belief comes by the Spirit, otherwise nobody can believe in the truth without that Spirit of truth.

Israel was made as examples, and ensamples, it again is very straight forward and your thoughts are just your own ( not much value against scripture)

1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

People are hardened through the deceitfulness of sins, because they do not believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.

Again very simple, but you cant quite grasp the simplicity in Christ, or just cant acknowledge it. Nobody can be baptized unless they believe, that is the simplistic order, and it is the right way too.

Hebrews 3:13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

Baptism is belief in Christ being baptized by John the Baptist, and that He fulfilled all righteousness, and died for our sins, and we are baptized with Him unto His death. We believe in Christ being risen from the dead, if we have that good conscience( awareness made by the Spirit of revelation, and there is ONE SPIRIT and ONE BAPTISM.

Philippians 1:27 Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

Ephesians 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

1 Peter 3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

You can keep going around in circles, it means only dizziness for you.

Why pretend you know something when you deny the mist basic parts ?

The Apostles are the same as anyone else, all hearts are purified by faith.

The comforter, the Holy Ghost, of course is the same gift the Apostles were given, it is the peace of Christ, which teaches us all things.

Acts 15:8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;
9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

Acts 15:11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

On top of that, we are to follow the Apostles, exactly on their examples, as testified, so stop being against everything in the faith, or you will be stopped soon enough by the one whose Word you oppose...

Philippians 3:17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.
18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

"How does the Spirit do this? Its not directly. We’ve proven that through the examples in the NT. He does it through the word. How did the Spirit give the Eunuch understanding? Through the teaching of the word. He didnt do it directly or miraculously."

Again foolish talk without simple basic knowledge even.

The word of Jesus are Spirit and life, and they are living words, it is directly and it is miraculously.

If you have nothing useful to say, why do you speak/text, why spend years on forums bothering people, why not quit your day job, that is more like a night job, and begin a job in the day.

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

1 Corinthians 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

"You keep saying this but again you are taking what he said out of context. He was specifically talking about his suffering that he would have to endure. This is the “baptism that I am baptized with”. He is NOT talking about his water baptism from John."

I am taking the whole context, and that is impossible to take anything out of context that way.

You are avoiding the importance of what Jesus did, and all words you say, can only continue in that same pattern, to devalue the Word of God,

That is why John had to suffer what Jesus needed, and Jesus Himself suffered Himself to be meek and lowly ( including baptized by John)

Do you really think you are able with me around, to ignore the words here, how Jesus is just to be meek and lowly, and how He fulfilled all righteousness to humble Himself to be baptized of John.

Zechariah 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

Matthew 3: 4 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?
15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Philippians 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

"the word “unto” is a forward looking word. It means believe is unto or looking toward righteousness. Confession is made looking toward salvation. It is NOT saying a person is “saved” at the point of belief or at the point of confession."

Well if anyone is enabled by Jesus to confess Him, then they are saved by the Son confessing them to the Father.

That is because they are given in their heart to believe that Jesus is risen from the dead, so their confession is through believing and knowing the truth( through the Spirit of truth)

Matthew 10:32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

Romans 10: 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

"How does the Spirit reveal this? He has done it through the word he has given to us. He does not come upon a person directly and miraculously to “reveal the things of God”. This kind of teaching is why we have hundreds of denominations"

God does it by our belief that the Father and the Son are one, then that One Lord God comes to us, to miraculously make His abode in us for ever. ( because the Word is living and is Spirit)

Also we have to believe we can drink of the same cup as the Lord and be baptized with His same baptism ) of the Holy Ghost as He was Anointed to baptize us with the Holy Ghost) and to know it is one Lord, one Spirit, one faith and one Baptism.

You are trying ti ignore one simple message, how are you gonna manage it do you think.

John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

John 1:33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

The purpose of the thread is to expose all of those who are not baptized with the same baptism that Christ and the Apostles are baptized with.

They even state that Jesus and the Apostles had a different baptism and drank from a different cup, of suffering thst Jesus and the Apostles endured as recorded in history.

( Of course we all endure the sufferings of Christ, but there is a lot more testimony the disputers of this world are ignoring/denying. 2 Corinthians 1:5. 1 Peter 4:13)

Jesus anointed of God (after the water baptism of John) was anointed with the Holy Ghost and with power.

2 Corinthians records how we are stablished in Christ and anointed by God. ( given the Spirit into our heart.)

Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

2 Corinthians 1:21 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;
22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

John the baptist taught about Jesus, how He will baptize the people( all people) with the Holy Ghost and with fire ( power)

Jesus confirmed He came to send fire on the earth ( fire is the power of cleansing from Heaven, as the water baptism is cleansing on earth.)

Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

Luke 12:49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?
50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!

Apostle Paul received the same baptism the 12 Apostles had received, and in Romans 6, confirms that as many of us that were baptized into Jesus Christ, were baptized unto His death ( all are baptized unto His death)

That is all then walk in newness of life, as we are all planted together in the likeness of His death, to be also in the likeness of His resurrection.

Knowing Christ being raised from the dead, dies no more, as death has no more dominion over Him.

We reckon ourselves to be dead to sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Acts 9:18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

Romans 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

Romans 6:8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Again, regarding those who cannot confess( do not believe but deny) that we are baptized with the baptism that Christ is baptized with, or drink of the same cup that Christ drank from, there cannot be any other, as it is testified by one Spirit we are ALL BAPTIZED INTO ONE BODY, all are MADE TO DRINK INTO ONE SPIRIT. ( the exact same as all the Hebrews had been baptized and drank of Christ before, but without faith. 1 Corinthians 10:1-4.)

Because as again testified, there is ONE BODY, ONE SPIRIT, ONE HOPE AND CALLING, ONE LORD, ONE FAITH, ONE BAPTISM, ONE GOD AND FATHER OF ALL WHO IS IN ALL.

1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Ephesians 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

As many as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ, FOR ALL ARE ONE IN CHRIST( cannot be a different baptism, but the antichrist spirit, only would claim such.)

We are buried with Christ in baptism ( same baptism, same cup) to be risen with Him though the faith of the operation of God, raising the Son from the dead, and we are quickened together with Him( not by having a different baptism to His, but by having the same.)

Galatians 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Colossians 2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

That is the ONE HOPE towards God, which the Apostle Paul now speaks of, how there is a resurrection of the just and unjust, so he exercised himself to have always a conscience void of offence to God and to men.

As it is the end of the commandment of God, for charity out of a pure heart, and that is of a good conscience, with sincere faith in Christ.

Holding faith and a good conscience, holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.

Apostle Paul shows he serves the Lord with pure conscience.

Unto the pure all things are pure( they have a good conscience void of offence towards God and men) but unto the unbelieving nothing is pure, and their conscience then is defiled, professing they know God but denying Him by being reprobate ( morally abandoned and they cannot acknowledge the truth as that is godliness.Titus 1:1)

Acts 24:15 And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.
16 And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void to offence toward God, and toward men.

1 Timothy 1:5 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

1 Timothy 1:19 Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:

1 Timothy 3:9 Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.

2 Timothy 1:3 I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;

Titus 1:15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

Let us then draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled ( by the blood of Christ.) from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water ( serving God with a pure faith)

Baptism now saves us, which is not the putting away of the filth of the flesh( we do that too) baptism that saves us is that good conscience, serving God in pure faith, by belief towards God in His resurrection of Jesus Christ, who went away into Heaven to be on the right hand of God, for all powers made subject unto Him.

Hebrews 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

1 Peter 3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.

I have highlighted that this forum ( and all forums in the world) have unfortunately lots of wolves and serpents hidden everywhere, but they come out because they are predators, and not lambs.

Nobody is to be trusted, if people cant see that by now, then the testimony of Christ was given to them anyway.

God can give the Spirit without the laying on of hands, others did receive the Spirit by hearing the word, and then were baptized, there is nothing to dispute
Ok. If that’s the way he wanted it and it was a part of his plan then show me all the examples in the NT of God just giving the Spirit as a part of salvation. That’s not why the apostles in acts 2 received it. That’s not why Cornelius received it. Cornelius was told that he would receive “words” by which he would be saved. How many words you think he needed? All of them! The HS didn’t stop recording the event until AFTER he was baptized in water.
