Hi Angel! back a bit you said this:

I agree that our living testimony shows others that we belong to him above any tattoos we may have.
I also think that tattoo's are apart of my generation and that they can be used to relate and witness to others. I feel I may be more approachable by certain people because I have tattoo's.

What I was wondering about asking you was, while I agree with you about tattoos being part of the younger generation, have you particularly noticed also a rapid rise in women of the somewhat older generation getting them, also?

If so, maybe this shows that tattoo equality has truly been achieved, including now for a generation of women who in their youth did not participate in the way that many of today's young women do with confidence, if this makes sense?

Im fully going to get one of mine changed. Its embarrasing now and i also get over people keep asking me what it means, even the same people sometimes. I should take a photo and email it to you farouk and see if you could work it and make some sort of design from it. Or i think i might lazer if off it it cannot be changed. Or just colour it in so its just a coloured nothing patch., but a design would be better.

Yes, well, although a tattoo is by nature 'permanent', it's not necessarily set in stone because even tattoos that people like, might sometimes need some extra pigment or color added after a few years. Sometimes a good tattooist can subtly de-emphasize some aspects of an existing tattoo and change it into something else. For example, a Christian lady with an ex-bf's name, say, 'Bill', might choose to get the 'Bill' changed to 'Bible', or something; a good tattoo artist can often be capable of doing it.

(Pause for thought: ) Okay so Christmas! Christian tattoo designs should not be seasonal, because being permanent they are (potentially at least) on view the whole year round...

Yes, there is something rather special and personal about wanting to keep going back for more experiences with the needle; and now also going to the tattoo parlor is a complelely womanly activity; tattoo equality has definitely been achieved. (Personally I think this increases the potential and scope for faith based tattoos, in witness.)

Sound like you have a few earrings put in, too, anyway.

Of course, for the believer it's the inner person in faith and holiness that is the most important to cultivate. (I'm sure you'd agree with this, too, Angel. )

Just because some tattoos say: 'I hate *#*', doesn't mean that all tattoos are bad. Conversely, someone antagonistic to Christianity who might strongly dislike a Christian fish sign on a wrist, etc., can't pretend to dislike it because tattoos are supposedly bad.

I got it now. I thought Farouk was talking about something i wrote and messages on this thread. I never heard that saying before. Took it in the wrong context. lol.

Although tattoos sometimes get a bad press, the fact that a lot of Christians of a more mature age are getting them, including many women, often in faith based designs, does kind of suggest a clear distinction between the content of designs, which may be good, bad or indifferent, and the practice of tattooing itself, which I guess is kind of more neutral.

Sounds like you definitely regret that one, anyway!

Often, when somewhat older people get their first tattoos, it will be as a result of long reflection and planning and so for example if grandmothers get the birthdates or names of their grandchildren, or something faith related, it's often that they will have no regrets at having become tattooed.

I know you had a fair idea with i hints i gave. A ex girlfriends name i got tattooed years ago when i was about 18-20. Im sure you picked up on that one. I thought i was in love but i was just an idiot. lol.

Well, in contrast, if the many grandmothers that I mentioned get their grandchildren's names or dates of birth tattooed, as is increasingly widespread, they won't cease to be their grandmothers, right? this is why many, the more mature women that are confidently starting to become tattooed with such designs, or with faith based ones, tend to do so with deliberation and without regrets about their tattoo parlor visits.

This might work for some ppl but for others even a few visits to a lazer specialist can leaves the skin looking a mess. You might find it better to adapt the tattoo design into something else.

For example, a woman with a tattoo of an ex-bf name called 'Bill' who is converted, might prefer to have it re-tattooed it into 'Bible', etc. Blessings.
