Also note
Ezekiel 36:25-27 25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. 26 And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.
Is the "I" in these passages God Himself, or the Pastor who is performing a baptism.
Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea, 2 all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, 1 Corinthians 10:1-2
They went down into the Red Sea, and came up on the other side, have passed through death unto life.
If the Red Sea wasn't deep enough to cover over the Egyptians to wipe them out, then the OP may have a point.
Your examples say nothing about immersion.
So going down into the water, means sprinkled with water to you?
And both Philip and the eunuch
went down into the water, and he baptized him.
36 Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, “See,
here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?” 37 Then Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.”
And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”
38 So he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch
went down into the water, and he baptized him. 39 Now when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, so that the eunuch saw him no more; and he went on his way rejoicing.
Acts 8:36-38
and again
When He had been baptized,
Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.
Matthew 3:16
Coming up from the water, means Jesus was sprinkled, to you?
I think an honest person who wanted to know the truth can distinguish what these scriptures teach.
The is about being united with Him in the likeness of His death and resurrection.
- Going down under the water, is the likeness of His death.
- Coming up from the water is the likeness of His resurrection.
3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For
if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, Romans 6:3-5
Please explain how "sprinkling" a person with water does this?
Please show some examples from the New Testament whereby the Apostles "sprinkled" anyone.
