Men are allowed to marry multiple women, but I can't find anything about women marrying multiple men. Anyone have any insight? I bet it prohibits it, but I don't know where.

I don't think so. Nothing explicit, but it goes against ancient Israel's patriarchate and conflicts with custom. For example, wives were purchased from their fathers by eligible bachelors. (see Gn xxxi.15) That means that essentially she belonged to him, a cut above strict 'property', but still under his authority and care so that adultery is defined as sleeping with another man's wife. (Le xx.10)

So a woman with multiple husbands is totally impracticable. She obviously couldn't be sold multiple times to different men by her father.

This is an excellent topic.

Earthly women represent the "bride of Christ' (all God's chosen) and how God wants his chosen to relate to him. That's why the earthly marriage covenant and sexual union between a man and a woman are a copy of our covenant and union with God. That's why God calls Israel's apostasy "adultery" and unfaithfulness." That's also why Go[d u] hates[/u] homosexuality because not only does it pervert the biological design he created for men and women, but most importantly because it perverts the significance of earthly marriage pertaining to our union with Him.

In Ezekiel 16, God describes Judah and Jerusalem as women, more specifically prostitutes because they worshiped foreign gods whom God called their lovers and were unfaithful to their husband (God). Therefore, earthly women are to treat our earthly husbands the way God wants His chosen to treat him. Thus, one never hears about women having multiple husbands.

We women were created as "helpers" and also Eve committed the first sin. thus, we are under a curse to exemplify what it means to be subservient to our earthly husband who represents our heavenly husband (God). "Your maker is your husband." :)

This question of polygamy is also one I have. However, I view it more as tradition, than what God might prefer. The only thing I can see about it is... A man with mutiple wives would still have all the offspring under one family. They were not allowed to divorce except for adultery. A woman having multiple husbands would have offspring under many families. As for whether I agree with either. I think a lot of things went on that weren't right. I'll just let God sort out the difference, at the judgement. I do not believe in polygamy now, anyway.
It is a relevant question. I just have to believe from the Christian perspective, that God is righteous, as always...and men do according to their own ways...as Solomon was told, NOT TO.

lol! I had forgotten about this and then saw it the other day. Somehow there was a whole bunch of replies that I wasn't notified about. Keep on it.

I have a book that I need to reference but haven't had/made the time to read. I'll see how it goes with just finding the relevant passages. It's a good size book and I don't have the time to read it all right now.
