Bride Price

.
There is a cost to becoming the bride of Christ.

Rev 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. How? Well, it boils down to works of righteousness.

Php 3:8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

2 Ti 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

2 Ti 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness . . .

Among the seven parts of the Church judged in Revelation Chapters Two & Three, how many are said to have crowns? Is there a difference in being an heir of God from becoming a joint-heir with Christ; are they the bride? Rom 8:17. 2Tim 2:12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him . . .

My thoughts.

theoretically? ss will fail to pay full benefits for all in 2033. why that is when I turn 60. we can discuss if retirement is biblical and its not really mentioned. I don't think god intended man to simply retire. I don't mind the concept but really there is a case against it. retiring from gods work? ok pastors can retire?
Numbers 8:23-25 NIV
23 The LORD said to Moses,
24 "This applies to the Levites: Men twenty-five years old or more shall come to take part in the work at the Tent of Meeting,
25 but at the age of fifty, they must retire from their regular service and work no longer.
26 They may assist their brothers in performing their duties at the Tent of Meeting, but they themselves must not do the work.

I used to think to myself, "why fifty? Seems awfully young." I'm fifty-two years old. Now I know why.

there is some statistic that says most retirees drop within five years of work in some lines of work if they are sedentary.
Military retirees. That's what I heard.
I can see that, too. Their lives have meaning and usefulness, and then, BOOM, nothing. Add the nagging of the wife all day long to that and, well, you know the rest.

I've thought about this, dreading the winter days after my dh has to retire. Days when he has run out of reloading supplies, wood projects, and it's too nasty to ice fish. I've experienced what those days will be like, when he is telling me the intricacies of doing dishes and such. I just might resort to nagging to encourage him to find something else to do. Thanks for the suggestion. :shades
