Common Usage?

In 5 years of going round & round in this thread not one person has stated a belief in Jesus hanging out in a tomb after dismissing His Spirit .
Is this poll the last act of desperation ?
How many more years do you plan on keeping the poll up in hopes of finding just one taker ?
I thought this just might help rstrats get the information that he has been on a quest for, on more than one forum I might add . I voted .

Heart of The Earth POLL
Most people are very vocal in the details of their belief, especially when an alternative belief is presented first .
I cite the whole " pre-trib , post-trib " debate as example.
In my experience If they were out there they would have stated their case 2, 3, or 5 years ago when this thread was first presented .

I don't see anyone here alleging such a thing .
I think that's true - no one who has posted in this topic has specifically said that they believe that the "heart of the earth" is referring to the tomb. However, since this topic is directed to anyone who does believe that the phrase is referring to tomb, I wonder why anyone would be posting if they didn't meet that requirement.

Why do you think you have none so far ?

I don't know that I haven't. All I do know is that no one has of yet provided examples (plural) which show that it was common to say that a daytime or a night time would be involved with an event when no part of a daytime or no part of a night time could be.

The thread title " Common Usage " is pretty generic really .
You have to first open it to even see the basic subject & then do a good bit of unpacking to really get the gist that the only people all you want to answer are people who consider the tomb to be the heart of the earth.
Add to that the fact the whole number of days and number of nights issue is another can of worms unto itself no matter where you believe Jesus actually was and it is not hard to see why you would get a wide range of responses , inquiries .

For me it begs the question of if after 5 years you cannot produce one person espousing the threads underlying premise, and after five years you have to organize a polling campaign in hopes of finding just one, then why are you chasing after such a microscopically illusive demographic to begin with.
These people more illusive than Bigfoot .
Let me know if you have a sighting in the next couple of years ,
Thank You

Not yet, but you never know, there may be someone new looking in in the future that knows of examples.

Since it's been awhile, perhaps someone new visiting this topic may know of examples.

And remember, that "someone new" needs to be someone who believes the crucifixion took place on the 6th day of the week with a 1st day of the week resurrection, and who thinks that the "heart of the earth" is referring to the tomb, and who tries to explain the lack of a 3rd night by saying that the Messiah was employing common figure of speech/colloquial language of the period.

Ain't that the truth !

1. The Messiah said that He would be three days and three nights in the "heart of the earth"

2. There are those who think that the crucifixion took place on the 6th day of the week with the resurrection taking place on the 1st day of the week.

3. Of those, there are some who think that the "heart of the earth" is referring to the tomb.

4. A 6th day of the week crucifixion/1st day of the week resurrection allows for only 2 nights to be involved.

5. To account for the lack of a 3rd night, some of those mentioned above may say that the Messiah was employing common figure of speech/colloquial language.

6. I wonder if anyone from above who thinks it was common usage might provide examples to support that belief of commonality; i.e., instances where a daytime or a night time was forecast or said to be involved with an event when no part of the daytime and/or no part of the night time could have occurred? What is vague or unclear about that? And it's not a rhetorical question, I really would like an explanation.

Was Jesus in the tomb for three days and three nights?

Clip from link .

The great emphasis in the Scriptures is on the fact of Christ’s resurrection, not upon the time He spent in the tomb.

7 facts to keep in mind

To argue that Christ lay in the tomb for 72 hours is to deny Bible facts and to reveal ignorance about Jewish custom and idiom.

That would be an issue for a different topic. Maybe you could start one.
