Comparing Hinduism to Christianity

To believe in the name of Jesus is to believe in all that he is and all that the name of Jesus implies; most importantly that he is God in the flesh who died as a propitiatory sacrifice to reconcile men to God.

Does it also imply that I believe THIS?

Jesus Wants to Save Everyone !

And when he [Jesus] was alone, those present along with the Twelve questioned him about the parables. He answered them, "The mystery of the kingdom of God has been granted to you. But to those outside everything comes in parables, so that 'they may look and see but not perceive, and hear and listen but not understand, in order that they may not be converted and be forgiven.'" (Mark 4:10-12 NAB)

Soma,

Explain your last post. What are you saying or what exactly are you asking.

BB,

Am I to believe in a Christ that says this about the struggling sinner!

in order that they may not be converted and be forgiven

Soma, did you read this verse in the context of the entire chapter?

You don't understand what you are reading do you?

Matthew 13:15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

They closed their own eyes to the truth. Christ would have converted and healed them but they chose not to see.

John 12:35 Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.

John 12:36 While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.

John 12:37 But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:

John 12:38 That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?

John 12:39 Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,

John 12:40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

John 12:42 Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:

Soma, you are blind.

Soma, you are blind.

Thats what happens when you see the Love of God in others!

You are blind to prejudice, hate, wrath, and exclusivistic notions from the evil one!

Christ came for all and works through all to His Grand design!

Opening your spiritual eyes requires the eyes of the ego to be SHUT!

Christ came that all men might be saved...

John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

To be saved a person has to believe in Christ not false Hindu gods, reincarnation and other heathen beliefs.

John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Idolaters will have no part in the Kingdom of God...

Revelation 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

I can believe the bible or I can believe someone who invents his own version of Jesus and puts the Hindu Gita above the word of God.

No brainer there....

I am sure you know Greek and Hebrew than right berean? Because those scriptures are the only TRUE scriptures! All you use to validate your points are translations!

And I am sure you realize that your "canon" was changed in 1611 by Protestants to suit there own doctrines!

Soma-Sight,
Perhaps you could give me some specifics of changes that Protestants made to suit their own doctrines; or is this just another negative general claim that suits your attack on Christians? You might want to take some high and low criticisms of the Bible to learn about the canon and how it was compiled. It speaks of the books that Jesus quoted as being scripture, and it addresses the authors that had first hand experience with Jesus. The Word is the Word.

It doesn't take much to understand the scriptures when the holy Spirit interprets God's Word to each believer at his/her own point of spiritual maturity whether Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic, or English translation. Perhaps you are unaware of the recent translations from the original languages, or the Greek and Hebrew lexicons, or the Greek and Hebrew texts available. Pray for God to give you grace for repentance asking him to forgive you for your sins, believe that Jesus died for your sins and paid the penalty that will release you into eternal life, and ask for God's filling of his holy Spirit to guide you into all truth. Eventually you will be led out of the darkness that we have all been in, unless of course you like the darkness, in which case you will remain.
