Coronavirus

I could run with this,

Few places have proper water temp,or pressure to remove dirt from my,hands,so I know where those they do and wait ,using hand sanitizer on dirt create nice smelling mud

Well you are wrong on one score...I got a clean layoff and I'm not going to go to work for a while. I'm getting just as much on unemployment as a regular paycheck. I could go to work if I wanted...but I don't. I have a wife that I can't live without...I need her healthy, happy, and whole. Me coming home with this virus could very well be the end of her.

I'm waiting for the cure...it should be out in a couple of months for wider distribution. (Stage three trials)
When something substantive has changed other than more people being sick of being stuck in quarantinaville and governments caving into their crying...I'll go back. I have no reason to until such a time. June bills are already paid.
Cure?
Polio has a vaccine but no cure .

A cure implies you get a shot if you have it,that's not a vaccine ,

I,have the anthrax shot ,not a cure but the means to build immunity ,most contagions I have had a shot for ,to,include rabies .no vaccine is a cure .

I could die myself ,from it or my wife ,pick who should die john.

Many face such decisions ,i have not stopped working since day one and won't ,so for me I take my chances .

I,dont stop during lightning ,oh sir well you have health issues.its a hard rain and Friday at 5 ,the meter ship won't do it today either ,sorry one more day without water will not kill you.

That's not going to fly .

I know that they keep talking about a vaccine...and they are working on one.

But I'm also very aware that an effective vaccine isn't likely. They don't have an effective flu vaccine that will stop all future cases of flu...they are working on one but they don't have it yet.

They do have a nice cure in the class of an antiviral that is an effective cure for the flu.

There is a media blackout on this antiviral for the Coronavirus. No one really knows anything about it. They were working on it long before this outbreak started. They intend to keep it this way until they can produce enough for all of America.

Your career choices, marriage choices, and financial choices were YOUR choices. At the time you made them they seemed to be good choices. Many others probably agreed with you that they were good choices.

I made choices too. I can be mad, sad, angry or depressed about them...but they were mine...mine alone. I'm paying a significant price for my choices as there is no such thing as a free lunch.
Pain is my constant friend for these choices. Regret as well...

But I can't blame anyone else but me for my choices.

And when the time comes I will put on my mask made in Nicaragua and go to work in pain like usual. No whining...why bother? No one listens to it anyway.

I,wasn't whining ,pointing out my,knowledge on NBC,and how. To decon ,proper ppe isn't used one job once I'm out of masks or gloves.me. get no more ,seen it once

Coronavirus hit Hancock county, Georgia hard
A little county like mind, 2 nursing homes, no hospital, little in the medical field available
Now it's racked with the virus and deaths from it.
14 recorded from one nursing home alone.
My county is smaller, not too far away from that county, we have 15 with the virus and one death
But we could that go nuts like Hancock county did
Yes, go to the supermarket and few buyers have masks on
Go to walmart, the same way
now, if I'm in the yard, can I stop and talk to a neighbor?
Now, we really don't know what to do?
I go to the dentist next Tuesday morning.
Aside from that, I may not leave the house at all.

If a bandana woukd actually stop,a virus,a bacteria why woukd a hospital simply not use them.
You are correct. A T shirt won't adequately protect the wearer. That's why doctors and nurses don't wear them.

A bandanna or T shirt won't protect you though.

True. Everybody over 60 should have something on their face that will protect them. Keep them out the the hospitals in the first place, until a vaccine is developed. Once they get on a ventilator at the hospital, they are mostly toast. (Except for Christians, who can ask for Divine healing.) The elderly need to avoid catching 19 in the first place, and they can't depend on youngsters wearing T shirts to protect them. Many people simply won't wear a T shirt on their faces. They just don't, and in the USA they can't be forced to. The elderly need to wear something that protects them.

My pastors wife wears an n95 mask with eye pro.

Yes, that is the minimum mask that elderly should wear to protect themselves. A P100 would be better. A reusable respirator with 2 magenta filters on the side of them. The elderly don't need disposable medical masks, because they won't be doing surgery in them. Save the medical masks for doctors and nurses. An industrial P100 would be better protection for the elderly anyway.

Put some P100 masks on anyone vulnerable, contact trace, and the economy can get back to normal.

Can't wear the same one everywhere ,they ckean and discard .

Even with n95 ,I,have had issues with them.many are simply, reusing their mask ,and not discarding.

Local hospital suggests only the sick wear a mask ,and others only for surgery .my,pastors wife outside the Dr seldom wears as mask.

Imagine walking in 90 degrees weather for miles ,the co2 thing is legit .I,have experienced the head ache.I coukfnt imagine 20000k steps like that.

A mask doesn't protect me as much as it protects others. Which is why people should wear them.

Those without masks are saying that they don't care if you die from their inconvenience...which is rather rude and disgusting behavior.

Your choice.

Yes, but my point was that many people simply won't wear them, and the USA won't force them to. The elderly are vulnerable unless they wear an industrial P100 or similar that offers the wearer some protection. My suggestion is to put industrial P100 masks on the elderly. For what its worth.

Which is why I suggested a reusable industrial mask. Its made of rubber. Just clean the rubber part with soap. The filter lasts a long time in a clean environment (like grocery stores).

They can wear the same mask for a year to the grocery store. Just change the filter maybe every 6 months or so. Clean the rubber part with soap as needed.

Locally ups guys here don't wear a mask .

Yet the ups here In. The entire state to include them all,4500 workers less then 40 have it.that includes cargo pilots, drivers and the warehouse .i see the drivers daily .theire trucks have no a.c..

Since I live in Jurassic park where the age ,average is 55 plus,

Plenty of those golf ,play pickle ball, and walk .never saw many of those wearing masks doing that ,a few but most no

Many people who are HIV positive use the services of prostitutes...that doesn't mean that I will ever use the services of a prostitute and I am not HIV positive either...

Just because it's out there doesn't matter...I have a different focus with my life in relationship with others regardless of how they behave.

Don't really need masks outside. Mostly in enclosed spaces with recirculating air.

Yet people wear them.

I have seen them worn while driving .real smart ,you have a hep a filter in,newer cars.

That actually makes some sense. You are supposed to wash your hands with soap before donning your clean mask, to keep it clean for your face. Then they drive to the store in their mask, and don't take the mask off until they get back home where they can wash their hands with soap again. Keep the mask clean. Standard protocol.

Hard to say ,but again,if its a n95,just toss it .if its not washable ,most ones aren't ,toss them.

Cotton ones and clothe simply, was he.

Thank you for wearing a mask to protect others.

I would point out that the two are not mutually exclusive though. If you wear a P100 mask you reduce your chances of catching 19. If you don't catch it, you won't transmit it to others. Especially your family since most people don't wear masks at home. Therefore wearing a P100 also protects others. It also keeps you out of the hospital at a time when they are critically short on supplies. Leaving room for someone else at the hospital. You can also drape whatever piece of cloth you want over a P100, if you really want cloth on your face in addition to the P100.

Lets be practical too. The primary vector for transmission is going to be youngsters. They feel invulnerable at that age, and take risks that older people are less likely to. Like frolicking around beaches at spring vacation or going to crowded house parties. If we want to keep the elderly out of hospitals, we need to put something on their face that will protect them from careless youngsters. If we truly want to protect the elderly, we should try to figure out how to put P100 masks on their faces.

A nice mask factory to make reusable masks for the elderly.
